“Loved this place!! And will definitely be back (despite living in MA). Friendly & quick service, the staff offered great recommendations on food choices! Food: We got the- 1.Thai Sweet Chile wings were amazing!! The staff said they brine the wings prior to cooking, a detail that I think made a big difference in quality because they were some of the best wings My hubby and I have ever eaten! No fatty half-cooked skin pieces, it was all deliciousness! (Unfortunately no photo because they were devoured so quickly ) 2. The Carini Pizza the staff recommended was perfect! The crust was light and not too thick or thin, right in the middle. This pizza was a garlic aioli base with Genoa salami, hot capicola, Carmelized onions, roasted red peppers, mushrooms, Gorgonzola and mozzarella cheeses. Sooooo good!! I loved that it was a different base than tomato sauce and all the flavors worked together impeccably. Can't wait to eat the leftovers tonight!! It was totally worth stopping here on my drive back to MA! Side note- The pizza and wings totally held up being reheated a couple hours later for dinner. If we lived closer this we definitely be our pizza spot. If you're near Bolton, CT make sure you visit these guys!“

“Manchester is my home town but I live 2000 miles away, but e when I return home I try to hit Shady Glen. SG is renown for its cheeseburgers and ice cream. Those are completely great choices, for sure, but I go down-menu for a scallop platter or whole belly clams. I get their fries and Cole slaw whenever I can. My mom accompanied me this trip, and just ordered French fries and Cole slaw, with a half-gallon of chocolate chip ice cream. I can't argue with those selections. Perfect. I got a hot fudge sundae with mint chocolate chip, scratching a childhood era itch. I love this place.“

“Ok, so that was delicious.I saw the ad on that big ol' book of faces for a lobster roll meal priced at $17. Right on rt6 in Andover. Hey, I know that place. I must've driven by 1000 times. They've been there for decades, right? Needless to say, my interest was piqued. 17 bucks is pretty inexpensive for a ct lobster roll. So, pointed the trusty Accord east. Within minutes, i was there & within minutes after that I held in my hands a buttery, velvety rich delicious CT-Style Lobster Roll. A buttery grilled hot dog bun, topped with what looked like half a lobster; one claw, about a half-tail meat & smaller, more delicate picked buttery meats. The whole thing was doused in more clarified butter. Did I mention it was buttery?...soooo buttery. To cut the richness, the roll is accompanied by a small plastic ramekin of rather non-descript, yet perfectly adequate creamy mildly sweet/vinegary cole slaw & a small bag of Lay's original Potato chips. This is a pretty decent lunch-time meal for about the same price as.the so-called birthday meal at that large McCorporate place. The price on that was absurd & really made me Grimace. ... Not Tom's Place, though! Sat under some nice shady trees at the provided picnic tables next to a place where Rochambeau used to hang out. I enjoyed good eats at a classic roadside stand. Highly recommend.Parking: plenty of room for r/v or rig.“

“Stopped for the first time. We got the mushroom swiss burger, med rare with fries. Burger was large, nicely grilled on a flat top, not open flame. Was a bit over cooked, but still good. Mushrooms were OK, but not freshed sliced and grilled. Overall, still a good burger and I'll go back. Fries... spot on!“

“Just a quick breakfast before yoga at mills falls. Good coffee, blueberry muffin on the grill - yum. Server was very nice. Because the muffins that day were small, served 2 smaller ones. Thoughtful! Others in our group had the breakfast sandwich with potatoes. All very good. And the view - so nice.“

“Harry's Place has long been a Colchester stable for many decades (1925). It's even identified in Martin Podskoch's "Connecticut 169 Club" book, touring Connecticut's well-known favorites. It holds a special place in my heart as I've been participating in an annual gathering at Harry's for several years. Not only is the food and service spectacular (no... I mean REALLY spectacular!), Harry's Place helps prepare me for Spring and my 'to-do list' mindset with the help of gathering with old and new friends. We sit on one of the many available picnic tables or upon blankets on the spacious grounds with pockets of flower gardens to look at. I use this eatery as my starting point for another year's race for time and activities. And it doesn't hurt that I can frequent back throughout the season to be recharged (smile); the onion-rings are worth it in themselves.I hope Harry's will be around for many more years to come!Bon appetit!Theresa Kegley of Middletown, CTParking: While I do ride my motorcycle there, parking is never an issue. The parking lot is well pressed down so motorcycles don't have issues of loose gravel. And for vehicles of any size and shape, there are plenty of spaces for you too.Kid-friendliness: Lots of room on the grass for kid's to be kids; and as it has a family feel to it, children are well protected.“

“I am looking at some of the reviews and I can't believe they are talking about the place we eat once or twice a week. We eat the grinders which are delicious and come with fries which are very well seasoned, or a salad which is always fresh and delicious. Their plain Caesar salad is always fresh and I love their dressing. My grandson gets the chicken quesadilla and the other one gets the chicken tenders. I love the cheeseburger or the ham grinder. We usually order delivery and they are always early. Food is fresh and warm. I don't expect steaming hot when I get delivery. Their calzones are delicious and huge. As I said, we eat here on average twice a week and we wouldn't do that if the food wasn't good and reasonably priced. An 8 inch grinder is $9.50 and a 12 inch is $12 to me that is a bargain.“
