“Honestly one of the best meals I've ever had. The cowboy steak was amazing!!! 4 of us sampled each other's dishes and we were all impressed with them all. The vodka sauce was one of the best I've ever tasted. And then there are the desserts!!! Everything was perfect from start to finish. Cannot recommend enough.”
“I have a very expensive coffee maker at home, and I wake up every morning and head straight to Java Joint. John always knows my drink order. Best coffee in Monroe!”
“We had dinner tonight as a family of 5. Everything we had was fabulously tasty! What a hidden gem of a restaurant with incredibly friendly owners. We are very pleased. Thank you!”
“This place was a awesome surprise on a Sunday afternoon. Just what we needed was a inexpensive lunch for us and the kids. The chili dogs were awesome and spicy. We will definitely be ”
“Food , service, vibe, all awesome! We started with the most tender fried calamari I have ever eaten and a side of fried artichokes topped with a lemon ailoi. My husband had a twist on chicken parm, topped with gnocci that were like pillows. I have never had gnocci so light. I had eggplant parm and it was unreal. The sauce was flavorful, the eggplant was thin, not bitter at all. The bread was warm and light, even the olive oil on the table was top notch. I had a glass of house chardonnay with dinner, I don't know who's it was, but it was tasty! Even the music was upbeat and nostalgic. This is my third time there and it's always been perfect. I can't wait to explore more of the menu!”
“This place is the best diamond in the ruff excellent staff and environment been around for 30+ years Andy is the best all there food Is so good! I love the boneless buffalo chicken ”
“We decided to try The Smithy for our anniversary dinner out. It has kind of an up to date 70’s steakhouse vibe. It’s one of a dying breed that still has the old school salad bar that’s included with your meal. It had a nice steakhouse menu with a nice variety of selections. I got the French onion soup starter. The flavor was good, but I don’t think the cheese was Gruyère that is what’s supposed to be used, I’m pretty sure it was mozzarella. For our Entrees I had the porterhouse and my wife had the filet. Both were cooked perfectly to perfection to a nice medium rare. Both came with a baked potato that was cooked perfectly as well. The only knock I have on the potato is the up-charge for the bacon and chives of $2 each. Especially when you can get bacon bits included with the salad bar and the amount of chives were negligible. We decided to have the brownie sundae for dessert and that was a nice throwback too. The waiter said they had a good cappuccino so we gave those a try with the dessert. We were kind of disappointed with those as well as they were basically instant coffee with some cream and topped with whipped cream, not a cappuccino. Overall the food was very good. Our waiter was very helpful, personable and friendly as well so that was nice. This was a very nice steakhouse with great food. It has a few areas that could be improved on a little bit, but the good far outweighs any negatives (I won’t say bads here).I would happily go back again.”
“Bills has been a staple in the area for years. And I can’t remember when I have thrown in an order on a busy day and they have it waiting perfectly as I ordered. I would much rather go to Bill Drive In over McDonald’s across the street!!”
“Great fish market. Friendly service, fair pricing, and they never try to oversell you. Fish is always fresh, better than the grocery store by a long shot. Highly recommend.”
“This was my 1st time eating in. The service was wonderful. Melody was beyond pleasant, attentive & accommodating. I ordered chicken & waffles which was great. We ordered the homemade gelato - strawberry & vanilla - but it tasted like ice cream vs gelato (not creamy & smooth) but still was fine. I will say though, even for brunch, it's so loud. The acoustics aren't the best in this space. I prefer to not have to raise my voice or lean across the table to interact w/my party. Also, they only had milk or cream for their cappuccino. It would be great to have @ least 1 alternative milk option (I love oat but anything-soy, almond,...). I would definitely return though as overall it was a pleasant experience.”
“If you're from New York and miss authentic Sicilian pizza, this is the place. Superb! Everything is good, but this is hands down the best Sicilian pie in the entire state. Moved out of the area, but would travel just for the Sicilian. Thick, but light and airy in the middle, dark and crispy around the edges, delicious sauce, perfect amount of cheese. You don't leave 1/4" of the crust. Eat every morsel!”
“Love this place. Fresh meats, cheeses, delicious prepared foods and a small selection of Italian ingredients to stock your cabinets. Great place to grab a quick sandwich or buy your picnic supplies. They are always so nice here and have that "locals" vibe.”
“Food and service was amazing!!! Had the drunken noodle with chicken, coconut shrimp and beef noodle bowl. All of it was some of the best I’ve had and I love Thai food! And the girls at the counter were so sweet, courteous and friendly! Will definitely be going back!!”
“Our kids recommended this place so we hopped in our car and drove an hour to try some of their Mac and Cheese varieties. I love me some good Mac and Cheese so it was a no brainer. Before we got there I imagined they had a standard base they used and just added stuff. They have around 2 dozen varieties and it's NOT just toppings thrown on simple Mac and Cheese. Some had different cheeses, different toppings and definitely different flavors. We tried four different menu items. Each is available in three generous portions. Some of the many varieties include Mexican, Cuban, Philly cheese steak and meatball. Our two favorite of the four we tried were the Mac Attack and Mac Daddy. Like I said we had four small samples, ate our full and had plenty to bring home. It's a small dining room- maybe five tables. Final comment- check them out they are worth it. And please open one up in Middletown.”
“I just had the double down sandwich, which is roasted pork with bacon and cheese on grilled sourdough and it was incredible. I will definitely go back to try other ”
