I just love their ice cream, it’s so fresh and tasty. They are priced reasonably. Their store is very simple and neat. It’s clean and very well maintained. They also do have small sized ice cream packs for sale, in addition to the cone ice cream. The staff were sweet. Service was good. Their ice cream is a must try.
After visiting Louis' Lunch, the wife wanted ice cream. Searched up Yelp, then she walked to Arethusa Farm while I got the rental car. I had to circle the block and wait. When she was ready, I picked them up at the curb, while an impatient driver honked, and sped by. She got an old-fashioned Raspberry ice cream in a cup. It tasted like it had rich butter fat. We love Arethusa! Best ice cream in downtown New Haven - you need to try their seasonal flavors, especially the new hazelnut with chocolate espresso beans . The seasonal pumpkin flavor is also excellent, and the sweet cream flavor is also always a go-to. Pro-tip: You can get one scoop split into two flavors - just ask! I only wish that they were open later because sometimes I crave ice cream past 8 pm!
