I love Ramen and I always say that you can tell if the ramen is going to be great based on the marinated egg. If the egg looks like it has just been hard-boiled, then it's a pretty safe bet that the ramen will be sub-par. Menya-Gumi, however, doesn't disappoint, the marinated egg is cooked to perfection and, as such, the rest of the food is high quality. Truly the best; I highly recommend this place if you are in the area!
Food was on point and the atmosphere/service was really good. This spot is a nice hole in the wall and offers more options than the typical ramen spot like Mecha Noodle. Don’t sleep on this restaurant!

What a great spot for ramen in New Haven! We’ve always heard great things about Menya-Gumi and weren’t disappointed. You can tell everything is made fresh in-house, especially with the gyoza, because it was packed full of pork! We really enjoyed the shoyu chintan ramen, and I thought the egg sando was like a perfect combo between scrambled eggs and grilled cheese.
