The food was so good...authentic experience 100%... the bread even gets imported from Philadelphia. Bacon was cooked perfect! The sliced ribeye was the chef's kiss! Shout out to the cook, her name was Amber and shawty clearly knows what she's doing on that grill!! Taste of Philly is the perfect way to describe this place!! It's an experience of Philly here in New Haven, as a CT resident that loves visiting Philly for the history and the food this is perfect!! I'll be back fasho!
I had heard really good things about Phillys, and while we were in New Haven craving a cheesesteak, we figured we should check them out. The food is a 10/10 - definitely a delicious and legit cheesesteak, and they even get their bread from Amoroso's making it as authentic as they can. Not many people in our area are doing that! One of the staff members even packed us an extra to-go order of eggrolls because she accidentally made an extra with ours, which we thought was really nice of her. The reason why I'm only giving 4 stars is because of how uncomfortable we felt with the music that was playing when we went in. I'm not a prude, but the rap music that was playing in here wasn't even what you hear on the radio - this was another level of explicit with actual gun shot sound effects in the background and swears every other word at top volume. It was really unnecessary. Normal hip hop music or rap would've fit the vibe just fine. I can't even imagine if I had brought a child in here, and it smelled strongly of weed when we walked in too. We would come back because the food was so good, but we would do take out rather than dine in next time.
Zero stars. Spotted hair in my food gross ? . Hair nets should be required. Right in the trash it goes and it honestly didn’t look appealing to the aye.

I came in and the lady was on the phone the bread was really soggy and greasy the sub wasn't cut and they charged for lettuce and tomato and peppers just weren't cooked all the way thru and I didn't get any tomatos. just really disappointing this is my first and last time coming, respectfully.My sub did not look like what I saw on the site.

I ate the food before I could review, but the bread was soft, the meat was juicy and full of flavor, and the portions were huge.One sandwich was great and filling to share for two people. This sandwich is worth the trip up to CT.They played Erykah Badu and hip hop classics. The owners talked to us and really made us feel welcome. So it was definitely nice to sit in too.But their Philly Bread (Fried Dough) was the real star. If you come, GET THIS DESSERT. It’s like a fried bread pudding and it tastes like donuts, cakes, and soft bread all in one.I loved this vibe. Keep doing what y’all doing!
