Staff were not very friendly, didn’t check on us and then the hibachi came…oh boy, was it a poor excuse for hibachi, basically just steamed onions, white rice and some pan fried chicken (the littlest amount of chicken as well). We just ate a few small bites, paid and left. The staff didn’t ask if there was anything wrong even though our plates were full when we asked for the check ($45 for steamed onions and maybe one chicken breast sliced up). Bad experience all around.

Danny the owner is so nice, he treats us like royalty when my husband and I come in to eat or get takeout (probably more often than we'd like to admit!). Mahzu hands down has the best sushi in the area! The sushi is always fresh and tasty, with good mouth feel, and they give you big sushi pieces/good portions. The Oyako and Philly rolls are my absolute favorite. My husband loves the soft shell crab roll. The service is always polite and prompt.

Stopped in on impulse for a Valentines Dinner, thinking of it as too crowded we could go somewhere else! We checked in around 545pm and it was not as busy as we thought. We were seated right away and began our order. I guess timing is everything as we got our appetizer more customers showed up. And as we ate our meal up to when we left, it was standing, waiting room only to be seated. Noticed a picture of a squid BBQ, so we had to get that as an appetizer. The squid was not as big as was portrayed in the picture, but we enjoyed it. I think they modified their Bento Boxes also, to not include California Rolls, but that was OK. The salad was fresh and crispy, Miso Soup was seasoned well. I did get a little more than I could eat on the Tempura Side. 3 shrimp and sweet potatos were a lot. Not including the other items. Evening turned dinner turned out very nice.

First off, I am not a sushi connoisseur by any stretch. I was introduced to sushi just a couple of years ago and have eaten it at perhaps four or five reataurants. That said, the sushi at Mahzu is the best that I've had. It is always fresh and prepared perfectly. We have had the soups and other appetizers which are also excellent. My favorites are the Godzilla and AK-47 rolls, the spring rolls, gyoza, miso soup, and even the salad. The in house salad dressing is delicious! As for the atmosphere, I have driven by this place literally daily for years and, from the outside, seemed like just a little hole in the wall next to Shop Rite, but when I entered for the first time it was pleasant surprise. The interior is welcoming, pleasant, clean.... a very nice restaurant. The service is also always very pleasant, prompt and friendly. If you're a sushi fan then this is the place. I recommend that you eat in.

This is my favorite Sushi restaurant and has been for decades. The gold standard against which all other sushi joints are compared. Nice thick slices of sashimi (unlike the tiny slivers you get at most other places). The Uni is always fresh. And a great selection of sake at a super competitive price point (Snow Beauty is my fave). And, of course, I would be remiss zif I did not mention the owner, David, who is super friendly and I always enjoy seeing, and their server, Lynn, who also very friendly and always takes very good care of me. Whenever I am in Norwich it is the very first restaurant on my list. Always a good time had.

This place sucks. The service sucks. The food sucks. And it's really also expensive. I ordered the chicken Katsu and the hibachi. The rice was so hard it was not edible. The hibachi was swimming in water. The miso soup had floating particles that weren't typical of miso soup. The portions were small and no flavor. I honestly left this place hungry and upset that I spent $100.

The rolls couldn’t stay together that ruined it for me.

Food is great. Service not so much. Last 2 times we were there I ordered a cooked dish and I had to ask about it both time. Seems like the forget to put that part of the order in.

We ordered takeout. It wasn't ready when we got there. Waited uncomfortably in the foyer. The food was good, the General's chicken could have been a bit spicy hot but was not. Pork fried rice was good as well as the BBQ pork ribs. There was so much sushi that the kids ordered and ate.
