“We absolutely love this local restaurant. If you are in or around Newtown/Sandy Hook, be sure and check it out. The pork chop was absolutely delicious, and my wife really enjoyed the scallops. My daughter had the salmon with a curry, and it was wonderful. We tried the truffle deviled eggs, wow!!! Outstanding service and beautiful upscale New England feel with being stuffy inside the restaurant“

“I've been here a few times to grab croissants but it was our first time dining it and it was delicious! Very cozy and you can tell they have a lot of regular customers. The eggs benedict was amazing and their homemade biscuit was great. My husband got the chicken and waffles special and he loved it. We will definitely be coming back!“
“The ice cream here is some of the best. A good variety of flavors and the staff is friendly. If we are in the area, this is our go-to stop for ice cream. We ordered two ice cream pies for Thanksgiving. We had pumpkin and carrot cake, both were delicious.“
“This brewery is the best secret of CT. I selfishly want it to stay a secret because it’s so damn good but the world needs to know about Reverie. I never knew what a Kolsch was before I came here but after trying “You’re on Mute” I can’t live without it. Oh and Tricera-Hops… “
“Locally crafted ales and lagers with deep roots in the community. Superb IPAs, world class lagers, decadent dark ales and an ever rotating line up of fruited sours, English milds, German pilsners, Czech lagers, American pales, Double and Triple IPAs, blondes, saisons, peanut butter porters, imperial stouts; there's something for everyone! Nestled cozily in the historic Oakville-Watertown landmark Pinshop.“

“I'm an old Buddhist practitioner, so if I go into a place and Tibetan monks are eating there it's like being home!Wonderful wonderful food..they even made me traditional butter tea specially when I asked if they served it. “Excellent service and great food! We came on a Sunday for a private party, the service was awesome! Everything came out together and the servers did a great job handling 20+ people in the party. A great cocktail menu as well. The Kobe beef burger was excellent!“
“Real nice vibe and friendly staff. Just popped in to meet some family for a real quick drink as we were passing through town and happy we did. Inside looks comfortable but enjoyed the nice lighting and outdoor seating. Super cool and relaxing joint hidden in the back of a commercial area. Almost thought we were in the wrong place, but found it nestled in the back and a long a cute wooded area.“
“NewSylum is a brewery built in the old Newtown asylum (the employee dining hall, if I remember correctly). They usually don't have six IPAs on draft like most places, shuffling between a healthy mix of styles. Beers range from good to great; I've never had a bad one. The pizza is where this place really stands out. It's fired in a brick oven and the result is a New Haven inspired personal pizza that's a little closer to New York style (CT beer fans: think Brewport's but smaller). You can tell it's popular because they have a huge stack of to-go boxes. There's a lot of other stuff on the menu I haven't bothered trying because this is so good. Parking is a bit of a pain, especially if you want to fight for one of the two car chargers on the other side of the Fairfield Hills campus. But the chargers are free (for two hours), so if you can get one, lucky you! Also, it can get crowded and loud sometimes, especially when the music starts. Most breweries are like that. It's better in the summer when their outdoor space is fully operational. Plan your visit accordingly. But do visit the old asylum. You'd be insane not to.“
“Really enjoyed this brewery. We went mid afternoon after a hike, very casual. They had a solo musician who was enjoyable to set a chill vibe. There is a big sculpture of a sycamore tree that was very cool. Stopped for an easy beer and late lunch. The Bavarian style pretzel was hot and perfect salt. Shared some wings. Will return“

“This is the best deli hand down. Literally everything is handmade, not half can or frozen. I always get a few meals for dinner heat in microwave and it’s as fresh as could be. The owner is always behind the counter cooking, the employees are friendly and helpful when asking about certain dishes. If your in the area stop by and see for yourself.“

“We had doubt because it does not have many reviews. But they seem to have less greasy food so we gave it a try. Everything turned out great! We were so happy with their wraps and grinders. Their dessert was tasty too. Apparently this may be the place for local people. In that hour we had dinner, we saw like 10 people coming in to grab their take outs. And as shown in my picture, we had food left to take home ( since we we are not big eaters ). Their entrance was hard to find even when we were in the Highland Plaza. We had to call to find our way in. I would recommend this place to people liking quality food at a not super crowded restaurant. ??“
“I just wanted to write and say how much I love this place! As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by the lovely staff. They are patient and even will let you try samples of ice cream before purchasing. The rates are reasonable and the ice cream is the best in town! Highly recommend!“

“Did you know of this hidden gem is located inside of Uncle Matt's Bakery & Cafe? Let me tell you, this is a must! Kash & Liv coffee sets the bar high with their values; they make people feel a part of their family and are welcomed every visit. Plus they are dedicated to their community & give back through charity events each year. Their coffees flavors are made from scratch all using local ingredients (like Maple Craft). You can't not stop in without grabbing some of their amazing bake goods daily in the café. Truly a spot that many people don't know about and is 100% worth trying. Key Features: Side parking lot, outdoor patio is lovely on a nice day! Indoor seating smaller tables to work at or meet people. A variety of pastry/bread options to pick from. Their iced beverages are a good size for the value. Every Sunday there is always a fun pairing (coffee and cube/croissant) to look forward to. Service is always fast when visiting.“

“Ayla's has a large offering of vegan (and non-vegan) food options and a craft coffee menu. They make their oat and almond milk fresh in house and are known for their lemonades/limeades all hand squeezed with fresh fruit purees. They roast onsite and have some amazing blends of coffee unique to the shop (Golden Hour & Anaerobic Dreams to name a few). I loved being able to try a special menu item: the French Toast Latte and will certainly be back again! Key Features: Indoor seating and outdoor patio, Wi-Fi. Noise canceling panels and intricate design built in throughout the space, so is quiet in your spot to work / chat even when it's busy. They have a beautiful bar set that you can watch them make latte art. In addition to tables, they have a high-top seating and couch areas. Cute green wall for photo ops. Parking lot is easy and conveniently located off of Route 6 through Woodbury. Huge perk is that they are open until 9pm daily.“
