“After a long day at court for work, I was absolutely famished. Luckily, my coworker had a fantastic idea - why not try this place that's conveniently within walking distance from the Waterbury courthouse? To my pleasant surprise, this Via al Paraiso is quite different from the one I usually go to, which actually has the same owner. While they don't offer the same ready-to-serve hot food options here, they do have a lovely menu to choose from. As soon as we walked in, we were quickly shown to our seats. And because I had a big tote filled with files, we were even given a bigger table just as we had requested. For our meal, we both decided to go with the el meson, and we also couldn't resist ordering a refreshing morir soñando, which is a delightful blend of orange juice and evaporated milk. And let me tell you, both dishes were absolutely scrumptious! I'll definitely be returning to this place the next time I have to be at court. It's a fantastic option for a satisfying meal, and I truly enjoyed my experience here.“
“I go there mostly everyday I love their food, employees are welcoming and respectful, environment is clean and organized. I met Brenda (owner) for the first time today after going for so long she was nice she asked me and my sister how was everything if anything else was needed as soon as she walked through the door, very positive environment and all their food I have ordered has been good no complains, will definitely recommend and will continue going to their restaurant.“
“Had the chicken flautas.. excellent. Chicken tamale excellent. Birria tacos were delicious. The beef burrito had mostly rice....very skimpy on the meat for the price. Salsas were so good!! Maybe put a little more protein in the burritos, but overall very tasty and well balanced. Tasted very authentic....“
“It was excellent. As a non Waterbury native I stopped in and was a little overwhelmed by the options. One of the employees gave me the rundown on what to get, explained options and pricing. Super pleased with the service and food. Will go back next time I’m in the area.“
“Food here is amazing. Location not so much as there are always bums, drinks and druggies hanging around looking for money. Other than the derelict location the food is worth the hassle. Best Típico Dominican style food around and very affordable for the quantity and quality. If you are looking for a good bite to eat, order to go and you can eat in peace otherwise this place is always busy.“
“Taquitos are delicious and 4/10.00! Skip the beans (no flavor) and the cheese enchilada. Opt for the chicken chimichanga and tostada instead. Coconut flan is so good! The piña loca comes in an entire pineapple. Where else are you gonna get that in this town?Vegetarian options: Just ask them to make substitutions and you'll enjoy most dishes.“
“This place was great & culturally diverse & welcoming! We went on a quiet night before a show in town, and the variety & uniqueness of the menu was wonderful! My authentic meal was absolutely amazing. We were lucky enough to meet the owner, who was bartending that night, and his wife, the chef. An absolutely must try! Very inviting & unique.“
