“This is in response to a complaint that we saw below. To start, the owner should commend his staff for their professionalism and courtesy in handling a difficult and rude customer from the wait staff to the manager. We were present as the incident unfolded. Gentleman rudely approached the staff with a complaint about his meal. Staff immediately went in the back to get a manager. Manager approached the customer. She asked the problem. He informed her. She asked for his receipt. Without hesitation she opened the register and counted out his refund. A coworker reminded her of the policy to get the name and phone number for refunds. The manager requested the information from the customer. He became agitated and tried to rip the funds from her hand. She again asked him to please provide the information. He asked why. She explained that when the registers were cashed out at night things needed to balance. She explained shortages came out of tips and it gave owners a way to contact customers to resolve complaints. It is common practice in all restaurant and retail establishments that when cash is disbursed from a register name and phone number are required. The man appeared to scribble something on the paper. As he exited he mumbled what sounded like an exploitive and yelled to the manager that he gave a phony name and number. A staff member open the serving container and unwrapped the burger. The burger was totally intact. it had never been sampled or bitten into. I repeat the staff was courteous and professional in handling this incident. I have been going there for years and would recommend it highly.The staff is exceptional. During Covid this establishment was one of the few that made arrangements to continue to service the shoreline. GREAT JOB AS ALWAYS!!!“
“This is the best burger joint in old saybrook by far! Forget McDonald's, Burger King, and Wendy's!! Everything is made fresh! I ordered a cheesy and Onions ring and it was phenomenal! Besides the great and fresh food and shakes, the owner Lori and staff was also friendly and attentive! I will definitely be back!“
“We just moved to the area, and tried this place because it’s down the road from us. We just ordered a small cheese pizza to go, and he gave us a few garlic knots while we waited. Nice guy, nice little place and the pizza was excellent. After trying a handful of spots, this will be our go-to from now on.“

“A very pleasant place, quiet, with a cozy fireplace, a bar and of course delicious food. The service is very nice, pleasant and friendly waitresses. I was there with my friends who almost a year ago moved to the US. They got in love with that place! Separate children's menu with good selection. Delicious cocktails, thanks to the bartender! And of course I was delighted with the food, thanks to the chef and his team! I ordered stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer- just great! I also ordered a harvest salad with pieces of steak - oh God it was just magical! My friends ordered smokehouse burgers and were absolutely delighted! I highly recommend this place! Me and my friends want to go back there in the summer to enjoy eating outside because they also have tables outside!“
“5 stars all the way. This place checks all the boxes. We've been wanting to come here for quite a while now and today all the stars were in alignment to make it happen. The menu looked incredible and had all the types of food that we like from Breakfast to the lunch menu. They do close at 2:00pm, so get there early. Tons of GF options, so I had the GF Cali wrap w/ grilled chicken, avocado, and apple smoked bacon. $2 extra for the GF wrap and $2 extra for the waffle fries. The wrap was good, and the waffle fries were better...best I ever had better. The ketchup on the table to compliment the fries is organic. Can't tell you how much I hate seeing ketchup in other restaurants with high fructose corn syrup. The in house made side of slaw and pickles were also very good. Wife had the candied walnut pancake (singular)...but the pancake was bigger than a small to medium size pizza...I kid you not. She said it was very good, just a bit on the sweet side. Coffee was good. This restaurant also has Savy tea. Savy has the best tea. If you've never been there in Madison, Ct. and like tea, Savy is the place to go. The place was very busy on a Monday at 1:00pm. The atmosphere is very comfortable, waitress was sweet and accommodating as well. I was surprised to see that they have a full bar w/ wine, beer, and mixed drinks. They'll even put a little somthin somthin in your milk shake. This is now our new favorite place and can't wait to try other items on the menu.“

“The burgers are great. French fries ,fantastic. Grilled mac and cheese, don't waste your time. I can't blame them, no one seems to know how to make mac and cheese anymore. The service was great and the girls waiting on us were wonderful.“
“Great lobster rolls and beautifully cooked fries at Kim's beachy "shack" right by the sea in Old Saybrook. Lots of quality lobster meat on a beautifully grilled brioche roll. Fries were crisp, hot and delicious, made with really good potatoes too.“
“If you are looking for good quality pub food at a fair price, you found it here at this cute little place in the heart of Old Saybrook. Nestled on Main Street, RHT provides good food and good service. This was my first visit at RHT and it did not disappoint. I came with my sister. She got a chopped Greek salad that came in an epic tower. I got the Cobb Salad that was perfectly proportioned with fresh ingredients. We split some honey chipotle boneless wings and fries. The wings were perfectly crispy, yet tender in the middle. I don't know what magic they put into making them, but I'm going back for more. The fries were flavorful and perfectly crispy.We came at 11:30 on a wintry Saturday and were the first ones there. By the time we left, there were 3-4 other couples dining. My guess is this place is packed in the evenings and especially in the summer. Food is served on ceramic plates, but utensils and drinks in plastic. If that is something you care about, you won't give it a thought when you are digging into the food. Bottom line, try it out, you won't be disappointed.“
“We come here often and it’s the best burger on the shoreline! Music, beer menu is solid. Great for families. Our 3 kids under 10 give it a 5 star review! Milkshakes, Mac N Cheese, Kids Tenders, the Burgers and the Burger Salad all great! We’ve also always enjoyed the wait staff.Kid-friendliness: Kids gave it a 5 Star!
