“Wasn't sure about this place when we pulled in to the parking lot but so glad we gave it a try . I ordered the Zuppa di pesce ( one of my favorite hard to find meals ) absolutely everything I was hoping it would be and more . Very extensive menu if you can't find something here to tickle your taste buds maybe your not human . The service was awesome. The restaurant itself ain't very fancy but a steady flow of traffic of people picking up and calling in for orders . They are definitely doing something right . Me and the wife was in from out of town for a funeral. And we was very satisfied with our meals and service . So if your in the area this place is definitely worth the stop .“
“Our chicken dish was described on the menu as being atop pasta. What we received was just chicken on a plate. I feel like every time we try to eat here there's an event going on. They should close the restaurant portion of their business during events so paying customers don't get neglected.“
“I had it delivered but the delivery guy was so amazingly sweet and the pizza delicious . I’ve lived in Woodbury over 10 years and complain there are no good pizza places first time trying , now I’m wrong !! So good !Vegetarian options: Yum“
“Do t know why the stars are low in this. Husband had meat rav I had chicken Marsala good bread for dessert husband had the special berry cake and j had chocolate mouse cake both very good. Waitress was good as well. The only thing that wasn't so good was the iced tea maybe it was old but yea that's was it“
“This is by far the best pizza place anywhere in Connecticut ANYWHERE. I have never had a pizza be this constantly good anywhere else in Connecticut which is surprising coming from a place so close to New York. The service is always great lovely people, and ambience feels as if I'm in a basement with friends eating home made pizza pie.“
“We are very impressed. Lauren and I had lunch today. They got us in without a reservation. We were treated "compliments of the chef"with an antipasto salad and lemon cello shots. We ordered a late lunch of Tramonti salad and chicken wings. We were so impressed with the atmosphere and the food. There was so much food we had to bring some home. We ended up talking with our neighbors who are up from Brooklyn, New York and Milford, Connecticut visiting because they had heard such good things about the restaurant . I recommend I recommend you get a reservation.“
“Absolutely love this place! Been going frequently for a while and then we had them cater at work for an Open House Event and it was a smashing hit! Everyone loved the pies, meatballs and wings! Love this place and management is very wonderful especially with how large and hectic our order was for work! Can't thank this team enough!“
“A huge hit at my son’s graduation party yesterday! They showed up right on time and kept the pizza coming for three hours straight. Great variety of toppings and among the best wood fired pizza I’ve had. My 50 or so guests all raved about it as well. Highly recommended!“
“Wonderful real homemade chicken parm grinder, no "patty" here. The pizza is delectable, especially with toppings. I order a large chef salad often; salad is always fresh and olives are great as is the homemade balsamic vinaigrette dressing. The turkey and cheese are very fresh also. The service is great, friendly in a small cozy atmosphere. Pat Winn“
“Picked up food here twice. Their pizza is excellent, but it's small inside the restaurant and usually very busy. Not many places to park on the street. There was a line and barely room to stand while picking up food. Probably best to eat here as opposed to pick up.“
“My family and I walked into paesanos pasta house and I ordered an medium pizza which was ready in only 15 minutes but what impressed me was I also ordered a 2nd pizza an extra large for my mother and I was able to watch the cook make the pizza by handstand the whole order both pizzas were ready to go in about 40 minutes or less highly recommend to try their pizzas. A+++“
“The food is extremely fresh. They make the pasta and pizza in house and the food is never frozen.Kitchen is very clean.Family owned!Definitely a must go for both dine in and takeout!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free pizza and other items can be made gluten free as well.Parking: More then enough parking spots for the capacity of the restaurant.Kid-friendliness: Kids Menu, Chicken fingers, kids pizza and buttered pasta..Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs.. Very accessible for wheelchairs.“
“I ordered a meatball pizza for take out after a 12 hour snowstorm of plowing in the snow equipment and was feeling pretty hungry for a late dinner. I live in the area and have been wanting to try oxford pizza palace, it seemed to be greek style pizza. I ordered a large 16inch or so meatball pizza. I usually prefer my meatball toppings flat sliced homestyle cooked meatballs, these were more small chunks but otherwise good still and fresh tasting. The cheese and sauce kind of had a different taste I couldn't completely put together i guess, idk i was hungry and i could crush the whole large pizza in probably one sitting if i tried too haha They offer an 18inch xl pizza size as well and i think next time im gunna order an xl pizza maybe a different topping to try how they make other pizzas and what the toppings taste like. I enjoyed the pizza overall and will return again.“
“We called for take out to Puglia, we weren't in the mood for pizza so we decided on dinners. What a fantastic choice. My wife got chicken français and I chose linguini and shrimp with a scampi sauce. Both our dinner came with a generous salad and homemade bread. What a great addition to Southbury! The wood fired oven and pizzas looked amazing as well. Give it a shot, you won't be disappointed.“
“We were at the flea market nearby and went for lunch because it was so close. Located in a strip mall, it’s was a cozy, informal, little restaurant with booths and some tables. Service was prompt and courteous, menu had all the classics and nice, simple dinners and black board specials. We had cheeseburger deluxe and pastrami melt. The fries were so good, steak fries that cooked to a deep golden brown. Perfect crunch for the outside, soft and mashed potato like inside. It’s been a while since I had fries that good!!! Burger was hefty, cooked to perfection and juicy. Pastrami melt was tender, with very thinly sliced sauté onions, grilled well on rye. Coleslaw was very good, not too saucy, not to dry. Ice tea was very good.Saw others selections, pot roast with gravy looked so good and a grilled chicken salad that was enormous!Prices were great for the quality and portion sizes. Can’t wait to go back again.“
“We went for dinner tonight. My parents love it and took us for my husbands birthday. Food was great! Such big portions and so many shrimp in my Nana’s dish, and it was delish! But what I really want to comment on is that I informed the waitress my son had a peanut allergy. She said they didn’t have anything with peanuts but would inform them. She came back with a picture of the back of the bread wrapper to show me the ingredients to make sure his grilled cheese was safe. I appreciated that more than they know. As a new mom who is also new to the allergy world I’m just learning and the fact that they thought to show me the ingredients says so much. Usually people think if there are no peanuts it’s safe, but you knew enough to look at the ingredients in the bread and go the step further to show me, and I thank you for that!“
“Awesome pizza. It's probably one of the pizza places I've been to in the CT area. Wings are nice and crispy the way they are supposed to be. Epicure burger is delicious. I would recommend this place. We have actually gone out of my way to come here for dinner.“
“Me and my individual went there last night. We each got our own pizza. Broccoli & chicken pizza, pepperoni pizza. Both were very delicious especially with that crunchy crust not too crunchy but just perfect. The family there was very nice, helpful and funny. All and All definitely will be returning for more pizza.“
“Anthony’s Pizza is a great pizza place in Oakville CT. It has great food and fantastic pizza. There thin crust, crispy, cheese pizza is great. It's price tag is worth it. The wait is not terribly long and to get takeout is a smooth and easy process. The workers at the place is very good. The parking space is always big enough and will always have room to park there. If not you can park on the side of the street safely. I highly suggest Anthony's pizza, I've been there multiple times and it has never disappointed. Many other pizza places I have gone to have been on and off with there pizza but Anthony's pizza has never disappointed me. By far best pizza in town!Parking: The parking lot is good size and if it is full there's parking on the side of the road that you most likely would be able to use.“
“I forgot to mention on my last review that we always get a vegan pizza to go with our dinners. It is really great crispy pizza with vegetables on top but no cheese. I'm sure all the other pizzas are equally delicious. Lasts for days in the fridge and can be reheated in oven- not microwave because that makes the crust mushy! Really good place!“
“After walking around on a cold, windy day hot, delicious pizza was perfect! We live supporting small businesses, and this family-owned place fit the bill. You can tell a lot of care and pride go into the preparation of the food. The tables were clean and well cared for, too, which is always appreciated. Great service and prompt delivery of the food. The pizza is delicious! Love the sauce and every part of the pizza was flavorful and piping hot when we got it. Keep up the great work, we will be back!“
“I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. From the humble owners to the quality of the food. We were blown away! Everything is sparkling clean and the service is above the 5-Star mark. They treated me and my family group like royalty and the shrimp pasta special was to die for. Give them a try because you definitely won’t regret it! We tried the pizza, wings, pasta and grinders. Simply amazing!“
“NewSylum is a brewery built in the old Newtown asylum (the employee dining hall, if I remember correctly). They usually don't have six IPAs on draft like most places, shuffling between a healthy mix of styles. Beers range from good to great; I've never had a bad one. The pizza is where this place really stands out. It's fired in a brick oven and the result is a New Haven inspired personal pizza that's a little closer to New York style (CT beer fans: think Brewport's but smaller). You can tell it's popular because they have a huge stack of to-go boxes. There's a lot of other stuff on the menu I haven't bothered trying because this is so good. Parking is a bit of a pain, especially if you want to fight for one of the two car chargers on the other side of the Fairfield Hills campus. But the chargers are free (for two hours), so if you can get one, lucky you! Also, it can get crowded and loud sometimes, especially when the music starts. Most breweries are like that. It's better in the summer when their outdoor space is fully operational. Plan your visit accordingly. But do visit the old asylum. You'd be insane not to.“
“Awesome food and great craft beer list. Very knowledgeable staff about craft beers and wine. Great food and and a great value. Very cute, friendly waitreses. Truly great beer selection, not just the usual 5 different hazy NE IPA most places put up as their craft beer. There was 1 Belgian, 2 Germans, a bourbon barrel aged beer, as well as few Excellent Local beers. Do yourself a flavor, go for the beer and stay for the delicious food.Highly recommended!“
“We used this restaurant as a venue for a birthday party on Saturday afternoon. We had slight over 30 people. Food was great. Staff were easy to work with and extremely accommodating. Since it is now BYOB we saved $ in this area. I would recommend dimitri's highly. Many folks endorsed their pizza as best in Watertown.“
“I tried The Washington Pizza House this week and found it to be a solid little place. I had a medium pizza with mushrooms, onions and pepperoni. It was a solid good, not great but good. The service was friendly and efficient. I'm looking forward to trying some of their other items on the menu.“
“Pizza ? is old school. Absolutely delicious. Simple place emphasis on quality. Not doughy perfectly cooked. Not burnt but done. One minute either way would have been a different pie. Perfect. Delicious from the first bite Easy to eat , cheese does not fall in your lap but there is plenty of sauce cheese and any topping you choose. Stiff enough to pick up and eat without it flopping in your lap. Really enjoyed the pie. From the outside it looks small. Once you enter it opens up into a large area that can seat a lot of customers. Highly recommend. Real nice suprise. It’s a pizza joint.“
“Incredible food and service. We have called ahead and used them for several large family parties. The food is hot and delicious. The service is impeccable. I would highly recommend anyone to try this restaurant. You’ll be very surprised, The ingredients are delicious and of high-quality.“
“Stopped to get a cup of coffee, and wanted a slice which they sell because I didn’t want to wait. I should have waited the pizza was crisp and tasty. Service was friendly and quick! Tried stopping back on return but they were closed Monday . Will return on next “
“I recently attended a private party there. The staff was extremely accommodating to my gluten intolerance issues and made me a separate gluten free meal which was very tasty and included gluten free bread and ice cream for dessert. I highly recommend them.“
“So despite the name, Big Daddys does have eat-in service, and also appears to be part of a gas station? The location is a bit off the beaten path, but plenty of parking. I found a certificate on Restaurants.com for the pizzeria, and it was a good deal. Lunch and dinner at a discount! The burgers were pretty large, as were the fries if you ordered them as a side. The pizza had more of a tomato-acidy sauce than sweet, but a good amount of cheese. You could order by the slice inside. There is also ice cream, onion rings in the hot food area, and baked goods wrapped for desserts. There's both Coke and Pepsi in the coolers, and chips behind the window side booths. They also have a bar area and sell on Slice! Big Daddys also does local delivery on certain days in the evening. Goodness, there's a lot going on. Plus, a good flow of pick up orders. The gentlemen at the register seemed to have a good handle on things though.“
