“Always love to try the Mediterranean style food in the neighborhood. First time ordering out this restaurant, I ordered the lamb gyro platter, the salad and the rice that comes with the platter was delicious but the lamb was kind of dried and salty. The portion of the food is pretty good. Will give them another try next time!“
“I have been going to the Mediterranean Gourmet for years and always found the food to be fresh and delicious. The team there is always pleasant and cordial. The hummus is great and my favorite item is the chickpea salad. With the exception of the stuffed grape leaves (Dolmades), everything is made fresh.“
“Excellent food - my Greek Salad was very fresh, full of color and flavor. Curtis took my order and was very friendly, efficient. Had to wait a bit longer for my to-go order, yet it was worth the wait.I did encourage the young lady who gave me my order to ask her employer/the restaurant to switch to biodegradable/recyclable food service materials (boxes, cups, etc.), rather than the Styrofoam plates, cups they currently use. I explained to her none of the serving products they use will ever break down/biodegrade.I hope she received my request as constructive, positive - I certainly intended it that way. Every little bit helps in terms of not contributing to a/the landfill. That way, we all win! Thanks again for a great meal! :-)“
“House made, amazing service! We ordered the shaved lamb and chicken skewers and they were mouth watering. We started with a spinach pie as well, a must have. He also has Greek soda, we had the orangeade. It was so refreshing. Going to be craving this restaurant. Will definitely be back.“
“My wife and I ordered a beef gyro and the chicken shawarma platter. The tabbouleh, tomato salad, spicy rice, spicy potatoes and falafel are on point. The restaurant greets you with a whiff of Mediterranean cuisine, and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. I didn't catch either gentleman's name but thank you for being so patient during my little snafu at the register You guys rock!“
“So much delicious food for such a reasonable price. We had a chicken gyro combo with hummus and a spinach, pie combo with tabouli. Incredibly generous portions of the sides and the food was excellent. The staff is very friendly and called us friend frequently which was kind of nice will definitely be back for more. Everything is freshly made!“
“I am visiting from New York and I would like to recognize Kelli, Sean, Valentine, and Fransisco. They made my time at the AVA amazing. They made drinks with care and really were personable. The drinks were strong and relevant.Dietary restrictions: N/A“
“This cute restaurant was amazing from start to finish. It is reservation only, but once you call you will be introduce to Michele who is the definition of amazing service. When you arrive, Michele will greet you and be your server. She will make you feel like you’ve been a regular there for YEARS. The food is amazing and have huge portions. It was loaded with so much flavor and you could tell that it was all homemade. Chef Z mans the kitchen himself!!! We got the lavas bread with haydari and sautéed eggplant for an appetizer and the bread was so good fresh out of the oven that we couldn’t resist eating it all! For an entree we split the Feta Cheese Pide and the Iskender Kebab. The pide is a Turkish flatbread with the cheese baked in (kind of like a pizza meets a calzone) and the Iskender kebab had delicious sliced lamb on top of seasoned bread with a tomato sauce and dallop of yogurt. We had to take about half home. For dessert we had baklava that literally melted in your mouth. One of our new places to frequent.“
“We ordered the gyro pita with salad/fries. The food was delightfully delicious. They also had a baklava deal going on when we came and it was some of the best I’ve had in my life. Highly recommend!Wheelchair accessibility: Totally accessible“
“A very nice place with a varied, fresh and healthy menu. Healthy food at a good price. I was surprised to find out that it is Venezuelan food! The people who helped me really have good energy and the smell ofFood upon entry!!! Fabulous ❤️Vegetarian options: There are grains“
“Give this place a try! Warm, friendly staff, good food, simple, relaxed atmosphere, with plenty of seats. I didn't have much in the way of expectations when we went, as I had never heard of the place, just found it on a whim, and we were all so glad we stopped by. Everyone loved their food and sweet, friendly conversation with the person who served us, maybe the owner? We will definitely be back. Check them out!! Before we left, we were already planning our next visit!“
“Eating at TajineXpress was an awesome experience, offering a genuine taste of Moroccan cuisine that is both delicious and authentic. The owner's warmth and hospitality enhance the dining experience, making you feel genuinely welcomed. The restaurant's cleanliness and the enchanting Moroccan music playing in the background create a delightful ambiance. Having a Moroccan friend with me who vouched for its authenticity and felt reminded of home was the ultimate seal of approval.Kid-friendliness: YesWheelchair accessibility: Yes“
“Love love love this restaurant! We love Greek food, but don’t get a chance to eat out very often. This place never disappoints us. It is our go to place. Everybody is always so friendly, the food taste great and they give back to their community. Fantastic place, if you’ve never been, you won’t be disappointed.“
“Hands down the best mediterranean food I have found in Florida. It’s fresh and Delicious. The meals are large and filling. The Greek fries are mouthwatering. They even have a large variety of vegetarian and vegan food that hits the spot. I highly recommend anyone looking for fresh wholesome goodness to give it a try.“
“I came for the chicken because of a recomendation from a friend. A little background, for years myself, this friend and other friends always ate at Olde Dixie Fried Chicken in Pinecastle. Sadly that business has gone. My friend told me to give Theo's fried chicken a try and WOW! I must say it is just like I remember from Olde Dixie. I think both places pressure fry in peanut oil and that has to be the secret to moist crispy and never greasy fried chicken. My wife and I both had fried chicken dinners and the chicken is just amazing. The fries are crinkle cut which is exactly what I like, the bread roll was nice, not a cheap roll but good quality, baked beans a bit sweet, but still nice, slaw was OK, not bad not the best.Only slight downside is the tables seemed to need to be wiped down before sitting down, but not a deal breaker for this sort of establishment. The chicken is the best in Orlando IMHO. Next time I will have gizzards!“
“Great roasted chicken and tasty side dishes. Best to carry out as dining area leaves much to be desired.Parking: Spots are limited here but it’s worth the wait & many patrons are just getting to-go orders so you won’t have a long wait!“
“Wow! This small mom & pop cafe is underrated! I've been meaning to come to Heart of Jerusalem for a while, and it does not disappoint. Everything tastes so fresh and perfectly spiced. Plus, how can you say no to heart-shaped falafel? The only slight improvement would be for service. A few times, the waiter was walking too fast and would say things in passing rather than address you directly to ask how everything was.“
“Happy that Shiraz Market is holding it down with delicious food. I highly recommend this establishment. We have never been disappointed with anything aside from having enough room to eat more lol. I heard that with advance notice they will make a lamb dish that we have really been wanting to try. This place definitely is a hidden gem in this area.If you like Mediterranean food than you will enjoy this place. Most notably, and a marker for us as a solid food service establishment, is they know how to COOK. You'd be surprised how often that very important thing can be overlooked by many establishments. I like the food service and market combo as well, that is classic, but not common enough these days.Food is everywhere, cuisine is here. Don't sleep on this market for making some amazing food, in fact I've yet to visit the market in person, so I can tell you that it is delicious when delivered and that IS another mark of quality ingredients and preparation that they should be proud of.We keep saying we're going to try different things, but we can't help but order the same assortment of dishes each time- meat gyro, a couple lavash, 2 roasted pepper dishes, the no. 4 chicken and rice platter with the classic sides like tabbouleh and the yogurt cucumber (mast o khiar) and baba ganuosh. It's delicious!Thank you.“
“100000% one of the best restaurants in Orlando. Def best food in Winter Park. Food is 10/10 we tried everything.Food: Ordered Numerous apps, entrees, dessert, & tea. This is a hidden gem . The food is delicious & fresh. After all the great food, we ordered dessert with tea and it was the best kanafa I have ever had. If you are a fan of pistachio, you have to try this.Ambiance: lovely location in the heart of park Ave. from the outside you would never know how amazing this spot is. It's smaller in size, but it makes it feel very homey and authentic. Great portion & price as well.Service: If you're deciding between here and Bosphorus - come here. I've been to Bosphorus hundreds of times, and I only came here once and it has won me over. Since I came, I recommend all my local friends & family to visit this restaurant. If I could rate it more than 5 stars I would. One of my new favorite Mediterranean restaurant. I will definitely return again.“
“Got to go, for the first time today. Met up with a friend. I will definitely be returning!!!!!Vegetarian options: The chic Ken was so yummy! Lots of olives and cukes!Dietary restrictions: I am gluten free and I was greatly delighted to see there were healthy options!“
“I have been eating there since 1983 and every meal has been perfect. I worked in Downtown Winter Park and ate there almost everyday. I have since retired and have not been to Power House in quite a few years. I walked in for breakfast during the holidays, and not only did George remember me but remembered my favorite smoothie. It’s just so much more than a place for good food & a smoothie….Vegetarian options: Best vegetarian food.“
“RUN, don’t walk to CooKitWorld!!!! I am obsessed with this place. I’m overly delighted with the taste, quality & portion size of the food. The convenience is a cherry on top. Though I love to cook, this business has allowed me to gain back my free time and abandon time-consuming meal prep for my work week.I’ve been raving non-stop about it to everyone I know. Soooo grateful ?“
“I have been coming here for gyros for about 20 years because they are the BEST. My husband doesn’t understand why I want to eat a gyro at the mall but nobody else compares to their meat and Taziki sauce. The tabouli and hummus is also delicious.“
“Amazing authentic Lebanese food. Stopped by on a Thur nite and very surprised to see it empty. Was recommended by a co-worker who was half-Lebanese. Food was so delicious! Ingredients were fresh and high quality - no gristle in any of my meat dishes. Had baba ghanouj, grape leaves, shish tawook to start. Baba was smooth, creamy, well-blended with a hint of smoky flavor but not overpowering. The olive oil mixed with it was so good - best way to describe was a clean flavor without leaving any greasy residue. Of course it was imported from a Mediterranean Arabic country, hence the flavor - Hassan the owner said from Morocco or Syria. Grape leaves had vegetarian option so I chose meat! Very tasty, not oily. Shish tawook (chicken kabob) had a nice grilled flavor, nicely tender and marinated. I like the Persian version (shish tavook) a little bit better because it is a little juicier, but the Lebanese was not dried at all - slightly different flavor and definitely warrants a reorder on return visit - and I tend not to order chicken dishes so that says something!Fried kibbi was very good - least favorite but I would reorder again, yes. Crunchy outside, tasty, soft/crumbly inside, meat minced well and not gamey. Makanek was very delicious even though drenched in oil. The sausage had a robust flavor that was not gamey (I love lamb), and stood up well in oil. Very savory but lean flavor - some sausages taste savory due in part to fatty content, but not this one.Baklava was excellent in the tradition of other Arabic cuisines - tend to be drier vs Greek which is wet. Not to the extremely dry end which tends to be very flaky and crumbles. Just wet enough to notice the honey, and no syrupy or cloying sweetness. Would describe the sweetness as not overpowering, even a little subtle, dissolves almost like a powder even though no sugar dust. The owner told me 30 year history of establishment, and how it has been a favorite of foreign dignitaries when they travel to FL. I can see why. Reminds me of an Afghan restaurant in upper East side of Manhattan that had same claim (Pamir). And yes, prices reasonable. Forgot to mention the nice service by owner and the refreshing hot green tea (Moroccan with mint). Mint nicely soothes the entire GI tract, but be wary if you have GERD, not to lay down for at least 2 hrs after (if you have average gastric emptying time) - the tea is soothing but not sleep inducing, so you might be tempted.“
“We have passed this cute little local place for years, and so disappointed we waited until now to try it! I think this will quickly become a favorite. Add it to your must try. Felt so homey and authentic - the food was delicious! The service was so quick and friendly. We barely had to wait for the food to come out! We will definitely be back! Very casual - no need to dress up! Try the spanakopita - it’s the best I’ve had:) we thought the food compared easily to the local eateries we visited in Greece.“
“Wow! I pride myself on knowing fresh Mediterranean food and FETA was amazing! The food was fresh, hot and WAY more than enough! (Could have shared!!) the seafood salad that came with my entree was spectacular and a HUGE serving! Price wasn’t bad at all for the amount of food. Most importantly it was delicious! Seriously, best Gyro I think I’ve ever had!“
“My GF and I found this place on Google. The reviews were great and it didn’t disappoint. Some of the best Turkish food we’ve ever had. Everything was delicious. Hot from the kitchen. Flavor in taste. Big portions. Friendly great service. We will 100% be coming back.“
“The food was super good! We had the chicken gyro and the traditional and the spanikopita and all were delicious. The inside of the restaurant is… a bit of a mess. Clean but very cluttered. The ladies who helped us were super nice. If we are in the area again we will for sure go back.“
“The food is obviously amazing but the reason for the review is the customer service. The manager, Erica, is an amazing human. She is very kind and always a pleasure to talk with when making my bowls. Everyone reading this should take some tips from Erica to make this world a better place. 100/10“
“Cava is one of my favorite quick stop eats. The bowls are so fresh and tasty! My go to is the harissa bowl. The pita chips are really good, but the bowls do come with complimentary pita which I just found out about last week. My husband also likes the lamb option.“
“This place is absolutely DELICIOUS. Found this place because I was craving a Gyro but I ended up getting a tilapia platter too. BEST.DECISION EVER. The gyro was season to perfection. BUT. The tilapia platter won my heart! Best tilapia I have ever had. And the best seasoned rice I've had in a while. I let my roomate have some and her and her boyfriend went later the same day and loved their food too. also the cook was extremely nice and warm hearted. I will be going back on a weekly basis.“
