“Well this is our first time here but our captains been here several times since highly recommended. Arriving around 10 o'clock results in about a half hour wait that's a guesstimate there's six on the waitlist right now. But it moves quickly. My better half Peggy is browsing the menu Likes all the options if you can't find something then you need to go someplace else they have something for everybody. Menu has a variety of options. Will be back.“

“This place is to die for! I have multiple food allergies and our waitress was amazing. She accommodated all my needs, and the chef prepared all my course’s with care! Definitely, one of the best restaurants and meals I’ve had that accommodated all my dietary restrictions. Nothing but amazing things I can say! Definitely a must visit when in Anna Maria!“

“The inside is super cute and cozy, staff was extremely kind to me and my baby and the owner was very informed about celiacs - she explained how they have separate toasters, butter and utensils to avoid cross-contamination. It’s rare for me to find somewhere that I feel safe eating from! This is an absolute gem. The GF cinnamon raisin bagel was super yummy!“

“Always stopped by every time I come in town to see my parents . Nice groups of people, great service, great food and drinks menu selections, and nice outdoor seatings. Highly recommended booking a reservation for a group of 2 or more. They also make the best chocolate martini in town!“

“It was fine.For a restaurant on an island near the sea, I would expect more variety in seafood dishes. The taste of the protein was good, I would expect an improvement in the presentation of the companions, the phenomenal service, the person in charge of the bar is great. It is a cozy place. “I wanted to be able to give a higher rating as the food, the location and overall vibe here is amazing. An art deco culinary experience in one of the most serene settings in Florida. However, the service staff, in particular our server was beyond terrible. A foul attitude and no professional server skills whatsoever. From the fact that she never asked my wife and I if we wanted another drink, to not giving us a kids menu even though we came with our 18 month old.The restaurant has a beautiful waterfront walkway and so my wife and I went to take pictures. Instead of understanding that this is common for guests to do, our server thought we were leaving entirely and chased us down. Why don’t toy worry if we have enough to drink or are ordering dessert instead of thinking we were just leaving.To the management, you need to address a cancer to your business with servers like this. Just terrible and if we’re do go back I worked refuse to be served by this amateur with a terrible attitude and no ability to understand what professional hospitality means.“

“We were down from Clearwater for the day and did a Google search and thought this would be a nice place to try and Man was that a good decision! “This is THE SPOT. Wow! Their famous Chicken and biscuit was so delicious, juicy and flavorful. Home fries….yes! Kids had Mickey Mouse pancakes and yes, I snuck a few bites. Also one of the few places with a good coffee menu…thank goodness! Espresso Freddo (cold) hit the spot on a hot day. Service was 100%.“

“Excellent dinner last night at Mar Vista. Sitting under the trees by the bay can’t be beat. You must try the gourmet tator tots to start. We had shrimp and grits and their fresh catch risotto. The seafood was cooked perfectly with great flavors on both. Our server, Hannah, was great!“

“Excellent service,good food and great view from the deck.My elderly mother passed out on the way out of the restaurant. The manager and her wait staff were very helpful during this emergency. After the manager called 911 for us, she helped with the 9 month old baby in our party while I helped my mother. She stuck with us until the ambulance arrived. The staff were also clam and helpful with comfort measures like ice and cold cloths. Me and my family were grateful for their assistance in our time of need.Wheelchair accessibility: Two long ramps. “Absolutely wonderful customer service. Patrick, Esther and Kelly went above and beyond to take care of some lost and wayward out of towners. We even had a golf cart called for us to go to our destination afterwards, driven by Bridget who took the scenic route!This is the kind of customer service that was much needed after a hectic day. “So good we are here twice. The wait was a bit longer than they told us, but we had a table right in the sand and a perfect view of the sunset. The staff was very accommodating. The drinks we great, burata salad was fresh, brussel sprouts were crispy and perfectly seasoned. The jambalaya, burger and fish tacos were well prepared and tasteful! “We've been coming to Basil's for over 30 years. There are a few locations in Bradenton and 1 in Sarasota and over the thousands of times we've eaten at Basil's, I would say there are only a few times where maybe the chicken was dry or we were not satisfied. It is a great family owned local restaurant with flavorful flame broiled chicken and the sides are great. I always get Mashed potatoes and gravy and hubby always gets Mac n Cheese. He loves the chicken salad on a pita.“

“We went in early December on a weeknight, we made a reservation, it turned out. It wasn’t really that busy, about half full perhaps. We were seated immediately at an intimate table near the window in the far room room. Very quaint dining room. Formal. Our waiter was very attentive. We got a bottle of wine. It was a small kitchen out in the dining room, where they would prepare Caesar salad and some flambé dishes. My wife’s cousin recommended this place, the duck was highly recommended, I had it, and it was absolutely delicious. After dinner, we went upstairs to the separate dessert room and got a great presentation on the desserts that they had that night. I had the Keylime pie. It was delicious. A little Baileys on the rocks has a nightcap.“

“Have eaten here three times in the past week oddly enough. Good service and atmosphere for sure! Would recommend the prime rib which is served on Fridays and Saturdays only, the fish and chips and the blackened cod. Would not recommend the shrimp florentine pasta, it didn't have a white wine sauce, just had some sprinkled cheese on top that didn't melt and the shrimp was subpar or the burger. But other than that, most things on the menu are good. The ahi tuna nachos, caprese and the Monte cristo apps were yummy!“

“With a party of 22 people, Brianna did an amazing job keeping everyone’s drinks full and getting all of our orders correct. Kelly the manager did a great job helping out and keeping the kitchen open late for us. Ashley, the bartender got all of our drinks out quickly, and Alvin kept our tables clean when dishes were empty. The food was great.“
