“Best beef patties I've ever had!!! Rice and beans has an amazing flavor and is always cooked to perfection! Try shrimp flavor is delish just not much gravy/sauce on it. Love the idea of the combo with fried lobster oxtails and jumbo shrimp! Great portions and sizable choices. Entire menu is not always available so expect to have a substitution that's like a lick of the draw. I've never received plantains which is strange despite ordering them 3-4 times I've ordered. Food is nicely prepared just be mindful of their hours. Has all the makings of a phenomenal choice for Jamaican which some minor improvements.“
“Delicious! I ordered 2 empanadas and an order of jerk pork, with rice and beans and plantains for my wife and I. Everything was super favorful. Definitely will return.Only downside was that they werent open when I arrived. Their hours said 11a-8p, and when I arrived at 1140, there was a sign on the door that they were not opening until Noon that day, so I had to use most of my lunch break, just waiting 20 minutes for them to open. Dont know how often that happens, though. Other than that the food was out in about 10 minutes and it fantastic.“
“My experience having lunch at MAD O Caribbean was comforting and amazing. Chef Iris’s smile was so inviting! I ordered the Ackee & Salt-fish w a side of fried okra and I couldn’t be happier. My taste buds threw a party. I enjoyed the art and colors I saw as I sat after placing my order. Throughout the establishment the vibrance provided me a calm and homey feel. The smell is absolutely mouthwatering upon entering these doors. Chef Irie single handedly provided the best service one could hope to receive while enjoying a meal worth the wait.“
“Me and my girlfriend went here on a Friday night and thoroughly enjoyed the food. The food was tasty, The portions were big , the live music was great, the waitress Jeissy/Heissy did a great job attending to us. We felt very looked after. I didn’t like the sauce on one of my meals because something about it was really bothering my mouth and the owner, Cesar, had the cook make me something more palatable and made sure that I got taken care of and was very kind and professional.Inside, the restaurant has a nice layout. Outside, there is seating and some lighting.The beef empanadillas were amazing. The natural juices were good too, the lemonade was good. The bistec encebollado was delicious! We will be returning. I was prepared to give a lower rating because there were several things on the menu I wanted to order that weren't available but when I got my food home and tasted it, I did the Keith Lee eye roll and said "fa sho ya right on!" “Last weekend while visiting Mt dad and brother both agreed that they wanted some ox tails. Being that I'm need to this side of town I googled Jamaican f food and stumbled upon STARS. Let me tell you, it didn't disappoint. I called in the order. The service was great. We arrived and the food wasn't ready but they were busy. Again the customer service was very good. Got home and they both devoured all of their food. They even wanted more to take back to SC with them. I had the jerk chicken which was phenomenal. The beef Pattie's were fresh and just coming out right after we arrived. My brother ordered one and was instantly in heaven. I will definitely be adding them to my list of restaurants!“
“This food buss I ordered the jerk chicken with rice and peas and a side of sweet plantain. The plantain was perfectly cooked, and the chicken delicious as well as the rice. Even the cabbage on the side was a great way to reset the palate. Great food. They also have good lunch specials. Check this place out.“
“I just wanted to give these guys a great review i went up to the food truck yesterday and ordered oxtails a little after they opened they told me the oxtails wasn’t gonna be ready for 20 minutes so i went ahead and put my order in came back to see if my order was ready it was not and it would be another 20 minutes if you guys know oxtails take a long time to cook and the guys wasn’t going to give me un done meat so the guys went above and beyond to accommodate me the best way possible i went ahead and got the jerk ribs boy they were delicious and sure enough i looked in my plate and what’s in there them oxtails these guys don’t miss a beat everything was fresh oh i forgot the mention the rasta pasta oh boy that’s all i’m going to say i highly recommend these guys can throw down!!!!!!“

I ordered and waited a short time for my meal, peppered steak with bean rice. Not only was the meal delicious, but the portion size was better than average. “Found this place on Yelp and decided to try. Upon arrival I saw the sign that said they do not accept credit, so I had to go to the bank and get cash. “Anytime we go out of town for the weekend we always look for Small "Mom and Pops" authentic restaurants that are in the area we're staying. I happen to look for Jamaican restaurants as that is my husband's go to home food and happen to find Choppin Coppin which had great reviews, So we gave it a try.. but I must tell you if you don't pay attention to the GPS you will pass it by just like I did because it is the last store front in a very small Plaza and parking is very limited. CHOPPIN Coppin is 1000% authentic Jamaican cuisine that is without a doubt undeniably delicious. I ordered the medium oxtail with cabbage and rice and my husband ordered the large ribs, oxtail and chicken with rice and ginger based salad. It was absolutely delicious and very flavorful to the point my husband ordered a third plate to take home for later. If you're looking for authentic Caribbean food without a doubt this is a must try to enjoy while in Jacksonville....“
“Ordered through uber eats. Good came in good time. The curry goat I got had good flavor, good gravy and the cabbage as they say was very good. I only wished I'd chosen the white rice instead of the yellow rice with it. Rice itself was cooked ok with okay texture. Salt level overall for the goat was a bit high didn't,even eat all the little potatoes cause they were just too salted ( all the way to the center), yes I know the dish tends to be one that gets salted, though at what point is the question . Recommend in general since I've definitely been more disappointed by a restaurants curry goat before, but over all the flavor of this one was on the acceptable side and closer to home.“
