“While in Key West, I was talking with a street vendor about some jewelry that he made and during the fun conversation, I asked somewhere a good place to eat was and he mentioned Moondog Café. It’s to listen to the locals because this place offered great drinks really good food and a great atmosphere. I felt like I didn’t want to leave It was so nice.I have the silly rule whenever I go to a restaurant I go to the bathroom first. I often think if they can’t keep their bathrooms clean then how clean is their kitchen? I’m happy to report that Moondog Café has very clean and actually very nice bathroom.“
“A local told me 'Don't bother trying to find the best key lime pie spot in key west because they are all amazing but if you want to try, look no further than Kermit's.' I'm glad I listened because Kermit's does it right!! It's the perfect balance of tart and sweet with a nice graham cracker crust and fresh whipped cream. For those who want to try a different take on key lime pie, they also serve it frozen on a stick covered in chocolate! My recommendation is to get both so you can decide how you like it. Either way you won't be disappointed.“
“How about to yums up on Mattheessen's! These cookies are soooo good. I got the snickerdoodle cookie and a chocolate milkshake. Both were amazing and I had to go back today. Slightly expensive but very good. Great service too! When in doubt, check it out!“
“Southern Most Key Lime ShopWe stumbled upon this place while exploring Keywest. Can't go to Keywest and not sample the pie. This was a delectable slice of pie. The crust was baked to perfection. The filling was light and the taste was tangy, but not overpowering.“
“Best spot for great baked goods and sandwiches! Tucked away in old town this spot came highly recommended and we totally were not letdown. A cute bakery that offers takeaway only. Sticky bun was my fave! Lightness of a croissant with the gooeyness of sticky bun! Perfect match! Very reasonably priced too! We liked it so much we went back twice! Had the Italian sandwich based on a recommendation of a local patron and it didn't disappoint! Make sure you go early as they close at 3 pm and their stuff sells out!Tip: walk down towards the water to the ferry terminal and you can grab a seat in the shade on the second floor and enjoy your treats/lunch while watching the boats in the marina!“
“This is a small shop along Duval that--surprise!--sells key lime products. They have a little outdoor back patio if you want to sit and eat there. Obviously, you can take your food to go, if you wish. The key lime pie was good. It's not as sweet as some places and you can definitely taste the tart key lime flavor, if that appeals to you. It had a good balance of sweet and tart. Nice enough shop and good pie.“
“We had the pleasure to have breakfast twice while on vacation last week . Dennis the owner is incredible and staff is amazing! The food is delicious! Make sure you have a slice of his grandma’s 7 layer cake made with only 6 ingredients!! Will always make this stop while visiting Key West.“
“On short notice, they made this adorable cake for my husband's 40th birthday. They went above and beyond to make a really cute cake. Turned out so much better than I had expected. But on top of that, it was shockingly delicious. You wouldn't think something this pretty would taste so good. Perfectly moist. Very impressive.“
“I decided on a whimsy to try every pie locals recommended. I was told if you like it a little more tart, come to the Key West Pie Company. You can choose from a mini pie slice, a cup with more topping or fluff, a chocolate covered slice on a stick or a mini pie. We chose the mini pie and the chocolate covered slice. The mini tart was the perfect blend of creamy, sweet and tart. The chocolate covered slice was frozen, and so easy to eat on the go. The chocolate didn't break off or crumble, it was the most perfect frozen pie creation I have ever sampled. I can't choose a favorite. Thank heavens we split it so I could eat half of both and not feel guilty. Loved the variety, and prices were very fair. For tartness and flavor, Key Lime Pie Co has my vote!! If you love meringue on a pie, Blue Heaven has the best key lime with meringue pie. Four Marlins had the best "cheesecake" style pie with a beautiful view of ocean. Kermit's has gifts galore that are key lime related and a solid pie as well. Yes, I ate five pieces of pie in one day. Well...if you include the frozen pie on a stick, technically that is six. Best tasting I have had in a long while.“
“We stopped by this must visit place. I can definitely say it’s popular. Key lime pie was fresh and we got a quick service. However it’s not our piece of cake, sorry. But you should definitely try at least once. Not enough of seating for the amount of people visiting.“
“Great coffee and donuts. We had two cafe cubano and shared 4 donuts. Key lime, passion fruit cheesecake, coconut creme, hazelnut brown sugar. The coconut creme was our favorite! They're small to medium sized donuts. It gets busy so go early to avoid the line! The place itself has indoor seating but many people sit along the sidewalk outdoors.“
