With our anniversary he provided us each with a glass of champagne! He explained the dinner specials and even brought us a taste of one of the appetizers called Fiocchi Rapers – filled pasta with cheese and pear, with crispy prosciutto and creamy truffle sauce. We started off with unbelievable appetizers. not only is the past excellent, but their fish was extremely fresh. The penny à la vodka was probably the best they ever had this service. Well they were busy but the Wait staff were apologetic. They knew the menu very well and made some great suggestions. Ambience was laid-back. Everyone seems to be enjoying their food. If there was one thing to say is that the kitchen needs some help with expediting the food. As Italian, I can see why it was well rated: food is authentic and the recipes are coming from the original Italian tradition mixed with Mediterranean fusion. I had the opportunity to meet one of the chef, Pina, emigrated from Italy who has been able to bring to the table the flavor of my country: the rigatoni has the original Italian flavor of the ragù, sweet, not like the American one! I prefer and suggest the simpler pizza like the classic margherita…. This allows you taste buds not to be overwhelmed and to enjoy the symphony of flavors, textures, smells, taste, feel.. short version of tasting notes: feel the texture the volume the crunch of the crust, then look at the volume and style of pockets of air that is influenced by the level of hydration which are then frozen by the heat oven, inhale the slight smokiness an contributions of the oven….. look for a light sour hint from the fermented dough, a hint of salt which tames the rising process. let your tastebuds continue the experience with tart hand crushed Italian tomato, and creamy mozzarella cheese that contribute to the symphony. The menu is multi-european in its choices. We ordered several delicious appetizers, I especially loved the Tuna Tartar which was creatively presented and served atop of an avocado base-I thoughly enjoyed the combination…my friend’s favorite was the Beef Tartar and we ordered a creatively composed salad of mixed green, fresh sweet pears, feta in a light dressing-it was perfect. I appears the menu continues to evolve from what I’ve read. Our bill did not include an automatic gratuity. The décor eclectic, polished yet inviting… The owner is clearly an art lover…its evident in the décor and the artful food presentation. The prices are in the average range for this area.
