“I have loved this restaurant since 2000!!! I used to work nearby. I just went yesterday and it is STILL exactly the same deliciousness I always get carne asada it comes with cheese enchilada, rice, beans, and guacamole and sour cream. I always switch the yellow rice and black beans to white rice and cheesy refried beans. They are fast to serve the food and never have I ever anything but perfect service. I literally love this place!!!!”

“The Tropibowl was okay... Really good the first bites but then you taste the whole thing a little too salty. The Plantains were Idk from where but they were certainly no Hispanic so be aware.

“First time here and it definitely won't be my last! 🤩 I am a chicago native that travels a lot to Florida. Every time I come out here, I am in search of the best Haitian/ Caribbean food places and Marc's took the cake!! I had the chicken stew with rice and beans and everything was delicious!! The mango smoothie was also so rich and creamy! They have a completely different way of making the smoothies! The meat was so flavorful and juicy, the rice was so soft and flavorful !! And Karina, our server was amazing!! She has excellent customer service and made sure we were taken care of from when we walked in until we walked out!”

“Some of my favorite places to eat are restaurants that transitioned from food trucks as is the case with BMC Smash Burgers. BMC Smash Burgers began in 2021 as a popular food truck, Eat BMC operated by Jason "Jay Rok" Smith. In August of this year the brick-and-mortar location of BMC Smashburger opened on Dixie Highway in Oakland Park. Smith has taken smash burgers, thin beef patties cooked on a super-hot griddle to a new level of deliciousness. The burger is pressed with a spatula, to increase browning and crispy edges for maximum flavor. The smash burger technique is said to have been popularized by the Smashburger chain founded in Denver in 2007.

I finally got the chance to try BMC Smash Burgers after visiting the Small Biz Saturday Local Makers Market that was being held across the tracks. Parking for the restaurant is limited but I found a strip of free spaces across the street. The inside is no frills with a few tables and two more out front. You order at the counter and they brought my food out to me when it was ready. While I waited for my meal I was able to watch cooking in the open kitchen.

The menu features the smash burgers that made them famous but it also has a patty melt, hot dogs, tots, and fries. Dessert is a fresh baked cookie. You can't go wrong with the BMC Smash, a house blend patty of chuck-brisket-short rib blend , grilled onions, American cheese, BMC sauce, and house pickles, or take it up a notch with a Spicy BMC Smash, which start with the classic BMC Smash Burger and adds pepper jack cheese and house-pickled jalapeños.

I ordered the single BMC burger with fries and I was not disappointed. The flavor packed burger had crispy, lacy edges while still remaining juicy in the middle. The house made pickles are chef's kiss and the BMC signature sauce was the perfect topping for the burger while also making an excellent dipping sauce for the fries. It is easy to see why so many lists have named BMC smash burgers as the best in Broward.”

“Stopping off at Maggie’s feels like going home. The owners and staff are all so welcoming, and they even take the time to remember your name. Often they will stop off by the cafe tables to check on us, and unobtrusively catch up with what’s going on in our lives. They have worked hard to create an atmosphere that’s cheery and roomy, yet cozy. Definitely try the Lasagna layer cake. Layers of raspberry and cream that melt in your mouth. OMG! They are serious about their coffee and it’s the best around; smooth and robust, unlike the bitter or over powering coffee at other area coffee shops. In addition to the pastries they also serve a variety of sandwiches. The pulled pork is my favorite. It’s popular amongst remote workers. I believe they also do catering for special events. You owe it to yourself to stop in and experience it for yourself. Having said all this, I feel a little protective and hope it maintains the neighborly feel even as more folks discover this gem. 😎 Jerry Hammond”

“Yall I could CRY. NC bbq in SFLA forreal. We moved back here from ENC 3 years ago and just found Dixie pig today. Yall don't understand, I was on the verge of having some Parker's bbq shipped to me. I'm writing this as I shovel a spoonful of Brunswick stew into my mouth with tears of joy streaming down my face. My husband turns to me and says "I want to live with these people." The awesome staff at Perry's went over and above and served us some sumptuous wings, oxtail & jollof rice. Mandy the executive Chef & owner went the extra mile and was present and engaged with the customers until closing. I recommend Perry's Wings as a perfect brunch, lunch or dinner restaurant. They have good food and beverages and awesome customer service.”

“I’ve been coming here for years because they use real fruit- not syrup, not frozen slush- actual fruit. They’ve got stuff from South America that you almost never see in smoothie shops around here- guayaba, maracuyá, even some fruits I didn’t really appreciate until I went to Brazil and walked through the street markets. After that trip, I realized how rare it is to find a place like this that does it right.

Lately it’s become a regular weekend stop. My daughter’s been doing swim classes for the past year and a half, and the whole family usually tags along after-uncle, grandparents, the whole group. It’s super laid-back, the jungle mural’s cool, and it’s a spot where you can actually sit and chill.

Right now I’m stuck on the Summer Green smoothie. It’s clean, refreshing, not overly sweet-just solid. My daughter’s locked in on anything mango.

“The food at El Guanaco is the best hands down. I refer people all the time for food . We have been going a few years but not much the last few months due to the service. Sometimes you can put up with mediocre service because the food is so good . But today was the second time service was subpar… Today we waited 20 minutes and still no order taken ….There was another table with no beverages that was sat before us . We decided to leave and offered to pay for the beverages and chips but they would not let us pay . The cashier said she could take our order but we already had waited and decided it was best to just go ahead and leave …On the way out there were 3 vacant tables inside ….If we eat El Guanico in the future we will order to go because the service is just not there anymore. The food is the best but not going back anytime soon to dine in …Food 5 ⭐️ service 3⭐️…..”
