Restaurantji presents Pompano Beach's standout Mexican dining destinations.
“Please open at 11am instead of 12pm. There are always people sitting at the tables waiting for it to open at 12. I’m a local and eat here weekly. The mahi tacos are the best I’ve had in Florida and the street corn is just so good. I definitely recommend adding the red pineapple habanero sauce to the tacos. My family loves this place. We choose this place over every other restaurant in the area. They never have frozen margaritas - they don’t offer it anymore even though it’s on the menu and that’s a disappointment. Please bring back the frozen margarita. And maybe think about hiring a couple more people it always looks a bit short staffed.“
“This place is my new favorite. The whole ambiance inside is absolutely stunning. The staff was super friendly especially the bartender & Shawna. The chips & guac and shrimp fajitas are absolutely delicious. The Barbacoa flatbread is incredible. Can’t wait to come back.“
“OMG..Best tacos and Mexican food in the area. Sometimes they have live performances out front and the ambience is always nice. I however prefer my tacos from the inside. You can call in your order and then pick them up.UPDATE: 2023I still get my tacos from the Mexican Supermarket. They offer a delightful eating experience that's both flavorful and tasty. My personal favorites are the Taco Al Pastor and the Taco de Lengua (beef tongue), both of which never disappoint. The Al Pastor is a burst of savory and slightly spicy goodness, while the Lengua taco is a tender and unique treat for the adventurous palate. One thing to note is that you may have to exercise some patience while waiting for your food to be prepared. However, I can assure you that the wait is absolutely worth it. The freshness and authenticity of the ingredients is in every bite, making the extra time a small price to pay for such delicious fare. Moreover, the customer service at the Mexican Supermarket is commendable. The staff is friendly and accommodating, making your dining experience all the more enjoyable. They take pride in serving up these delectable dishes. If you're a fan of Mexican cuisine and appreciate bold, authentic flavors, the Mexican Supermarket is a must-visit. Don't miss the Al Pastor and Lengua tacos, and be prepared for a short wait that's well worth the mouthwatering rewards. Your taste buds will thank you for it!“
“My wife and I call it "Zona Fresca Friday" every week. Been going since it opened The food is fresh, big portions and they have a ceviche special. Great salsa bar. The staff is so friendly as well. Our "go to" for Mexican.“
“I have been a customer since the restaurant opened, more than 20 years ago. Griselda's service has always been excellent. It's a good idea to make tortillas by hand. The birria should be served like the barbacoa.Thank you very much, you are still the best of the 3 counties.Atte. Lazaro Galindo“
“Welcome to the neighborhood! The birria tacos were the best we’ve had. The chicken burrito was huge and chock full of flavorful stewed chicken. The frijoles charros was a nice touch tho the tortilla chips were the weak link. Great value! Cute space. Suggest dimming the inside lights for evening atmosphere.“
“Our go-to taco place. It's awesome that it is local, but it beats out every taco place we have ever had here in south florida so far in the tri-county area. Their asada tacos are simple and delicious! Every so often, they cut up some radishes, and it's a nice touch as a side or additional ingredient! Their tostadas are exquisite! The shrimp tostada is a must! I love their chicken torta! They put fresh ingredients! It's like someone's mom or grandma cooks for me every time! Definitely recommend the horchata and Jamaica if you love a cinnamon rice drink or a nice hibiscus iced tea! These are the hidden gems you look for. Definitely recommend a try if you love real tacos and Mexican food!“
“Legit Mexican cooked by a nice family here in Deerfield Beach. It's all good, chimichangas, burritos, grilled pork cubes, nachos etc.Don't forget the special sopapilla dish with fried ice cream for dessert!Parking: Lot's of parking at night.Kid-friendliness: Kids okWheelchair accessibility: Plenty of room for wheelchairs“
“Wow, just wow! The tacos here are absolutely delicious, closest thing to eating tacos in Mexico. It is my second time here! 3 meaty Chicken tacos for $10 with a $4 tip, for this perfection. It's a hole in the wall and can be easily missed in the plaza. The ladies who work here are pleasant and kind. If you live locally or are visiting definitely check this place out ?“
“Great authentic Mexican spot, nice clean restaurant with polite waitress...Got regular tacos which were up there with the best I've had, the chorizo definitely the best!..WAit time was not long & food was fresh . Will definitely visit again.“
“These people in the reviews are tripping. I tried here for the first time because there was a deal on door dash and I'm happy I did. I got the pastor burrito and it's great. Good job yall I'll definitely be ordering from here again.“
“It's a small restaurant in a small supermarket with a nice looking butcher shop area. The waitresses were nice and spoke English and Spanish. There were daily special signs and they had great looking flan in the refrigerated case but unfortunately I didn't try it.This is not a fancy restaurant if you're looking for date night but they made great chorizo and chichirron tacos and the salsa that came with them was delicious.“
“I am an avid taco eater. At least once or twice a week and have been to taco spots all over. This place has a true Mexican vibe. It's a little grocery store with a mini restaurant in the back. There is literally one table. The address listed is wrong and you have to drive half a mile or so to get to the actually location. I tried half of the tacos on their menu. There was a bit of a language barrier but they had someone on-site that could understand me for the most part. Even though we couldn't really understand each other, they were very friendly and did their best to help me. The tacos were very good and they double up on tortillas, although they were a little stingy with the sauces. I would eat here again.“
“Just recently dined here. Food was Delicious! Can not go wrong with some tacos or some pupusas!! Cooked to perfection. Fresh straight out the oven. Service was amazing. Appreciate Sandy’s hard work! Highly recommend to visit! Would come back again.“
