I recently moved to Florida from NY. Desperate to find a pizza place as close to NY pizza as possible, I stumbled upon Palermo. Hands-down the best pizza I've had here in Florida so far. Regular slices were thin and crispy (without tasting like cardboard), lotsa cheese and a nice amount of dark/spicy sauce. Very flavorful! Haven't had the Sicilian yet but am looking forward to trying it out. Btw, their ice cream is beyond delicious!!! Definitely give this place a try. A+

Wow!!!! The Best Pizza in Florida. The happiest moment followed by sadness. I finally found the perfect crust with the freshest ingredientsand sadly one more day to closing. On the bright side they have homemade ice cream and will be opening a shop here in Gulf Gate in the next few weeks. Another win for me please support this Boston guy who knows how to make it the natural way. If you want to taste the real Pizza stop by Sunday July 31 between 4 pm to 9pm and taste the real crust Jersey, New York and of course Massachusetts..Your new Fan Virgo Laura..

My family and I tried Palermo's pizza tonight. We had pizza and calzones. The food was very excellent. Pete, the owner, even let us sample all the ice cream flavors before the pizza came. All the staff was very friendly. It's off the beaten path but worth the drive.

Amazing is all I have to say. Best customer service I have ever had. We came in late, 10 minutes before closing, planning to get icecream and then leave. We saw the menu and ordered a pizza. He insisted on us eating the pizza right out of the oven because it was better that way. He was right, they ended up staying open 30 minutes late for us, and we were so appreciative of the customer service. The food was delicious and the place was clean. I would definitely go back.

Such a great place we happened to stumble upon. Pizza was great, the crust was amazing with a great sauce! Our waitress Delaney was awesome! Pete the owner was so cool and great with our kids. Will definitely be back everytime we visit. The homemade ice cream was killer!

I went there in watch of good New York style Pizza and was surprised by Pete’s Sweet Treats. Pete gave me so many samples and I liked flavors I normally am not fond of. I was amazed at the great pizza and the gourmet ice cream was the best I have tasted. No artificial colors either. I was very pleased until my kids father ate all my ice cream lol. Guess we will both be making a tri back very soon.

Everyone there is so nice. We have been coming here every time we visit for multiple years and every time we go it is amazing. Mr. Palermo is one of the nicest people you will ever meet and so is everyone who works there. The pizzas, Italian ices, and homemade ice cream are all AMAZING, 10/10 recommend!!!!

Not sure how I do this one. We had a hankering for some pizza. Some in my family have to follow strict gluten-free diets. So we pulled this up on Yelp by searching "gluten-free pizza. Of course, there are many pizza places. This shop showed 4 stars on Yelp. So why not? They offered gluten-free and cauliflower crust. Bonus. (Plus, I mean they offer ice cream and frozen icees.) We pulled up. Place looked closed. But the "OPEN" sign was on. There were some folks ahead of us sitting inside. Appeared the shop was a tad under staffed. The menu had a decent variety. However, they had no cauliflower crust. Another surprise was the gluten-free crust came in only one size(12") and was pretty pricey. ($14) We proceeded with an X-large meat lovers and a gluten free black olive pie. It took a minute to get the order rolling. Prior to getting our food, Our server, (Delaney??) asked if we would write a review and mention her name. She gets a $5 bonus. We thought it was a bit weird to ask for a review of a place before we've even tasted the food or actually been served in any way... She went on to explain that the locals, etc dont really know they're in business. So the review will help. (keep that in mind for later.) The pizza's came out rather fast. They looked great and tasted good. No real disappointments at all based on the flavor. Not the "best ever", but certainly a decent pizza. The gluten-free was actually really good! When we finished up and went to pay, our server mentioned, "the store is closing really soon. Like closing for good...." Then why ask for a review if you're closing I a few days? That really didn't make any sense. So I just tipped her an extra $5. If it's still open, the pizza is good. Delaney, (if that's your name) hope this gets you another $5.

This is an amazing pizza place where most things are made from scratch. They, by far, have the best dough which results in delicious pizza crust, cheesy breadsticks, and Stromboli! You can't go wrong with any of their pizzas but my favorites are the Palermo with tomato instead of broccoli and the Buffalo chicken! The jumbo wings (mango habanero, specifically) are also delish. As if all of that isn't enough, the guy makes his own ice cream and Italian ice! He'll let you sample everything before choosing and each one is better than the last. There are even Italian ices for 21+ - I highly recommend the Bahama Mama Last thing to rave about is the service! Great service, nice folks!

I’ll preface by saying I really wanted to like Palermo’s. I went based solely on driving by and then looking up reviews. The pizza is good, not great. The atmosphere makes all the difference in a small local restaurant. I have found several here that are so fun and friendly that allows you to forgive small issues with the food. This was not that. It was dead at dinner time on a weekend. I did notice DoorDash coming for a couple orders but the staff was less than welcoming. They weren’t rude but not friendly either. Just kind of whatever about our presence. It was an average pizza with below average ambiance. The kicker for me was when they threw shade at the restaurant next door by saying their food was better. Really wish the experience was better.

I would leave a negative amount of stars if I could. We ordered 140 dollars worth of pizza and apps and ice cream. When food arrived one of the ice creams was wrong and so was one of the apps. I called and the owners response was I tried to call. Were out. So they just send replacements you don't want. Want a refund of those items? Bring them back and they will refund. Defeats having food delivered. Then the owner proceeds to call me a hillbilly. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. I HOPE THE BUSINESS SHUTS DOWN

Worst experience ever. The owner is a complete tool. Sends the wrong food because they didn't have what we ordered and stated he tried to call. Which he did not. Said if we want a refund we would have to bring the food back. The wrong food THEY sent. Then proceeded to make fun of my southern accent and call me a hillbilly. If this review shut the business down it wouldn't be enough. Worst owner in the business

The pizza is the best thin crust in Sarasota. Delaney's service was great. The eggplant parmesan is also very tasty. It's a definite yes for lunch or dinner.
