Sangrias Wine and Tapas Bar Reviews
I don’t think This is the restaurant that lied to police about mr gray ,
Just had dinner there and spent $62 dollars on a 6oz sliced filet. The cook on the steak was good but it came out cold. The server contacted the manager who did absolutely nothing and didn’t care about our situation. We still tipped the server like we are supposed to but there was no one on site to even talk to. Very disappointing.
My friends and I Havnt been to this place since pre COVID and back then it was great, but now no. The wait staff were unwelcoming off the bat. The bar was completely empty and they opened later than hours posted, and we were told they couldn’t seat us as there were too many. We had a group of 10 (limit was 6) but we said we could slip and sit apart we didn’t need to be near each other but we still were denied. Later 3 friends went back and were seated though?? Whatever. Sangrias Wine and Tapas Bar is a cozy restaurant located in the charming streets of St. Augustine, offering balcony seating with a view perfect for people-watching. The restaurant is known for its inviting ambiance and intricate decor. Their Ancient City Classico Sangria is a popular choice, praised for its delightful blend of flavors. The balcony is dog-friendly, making it a nice spot to relax outside. The garden fresh chips and salsa are highly praised, considered some of the best around. The sangria selection is good, with many customers recommending having one, two, or even three glasses. There is also a nice lounge in the front and upstairs seating, including sitting on the banister outside, which adds to the charming atmosphere.
The tapas menu includes dishes such as succulent crab cakes, zesty ceviche, and citrus-grilled sangria glazed shrimp, all known for their freshness and well-balanced flavors. However, some comments mention that the ceviche has a strong balsamic vinegar and cumin flavor, which can be overpowering for some. While the wine and tapas are generally considered good, some feel the tapas portions are small and the prices a bit high compared to Spain standards. There have been mixed reviews about the food, with some dishes praised highly but others not leaving a strong impression. Appetizers sometimes let customers down, but overall, the place is seen as a good spot to have a couple of drinks and hang out.
Service is generally friendly, with servers recognized for their warm hospitality and wine knowledge. The location and outdoor seating are appreciated, making it a popular chill spot. While experiences with food can vary, Sangrias Wine and Tapas Bar offers a charming setting with refreshing sangrias and a variety of tapas, suitable for casual gatherings and enjoying the lively street views.
