“This place is AMAZING! I went to order food to-go and sat at the sushi bar for a glass of wine. I ordered Pad see ew, curry puffs, sushi, and Tom kha soup. It was seriously the best Pad see ew and Tom Kha soup I've had since moving here. The sushi was delicious too, and so was the appetizer. I forgot to take pics before devouring almost ALL of that by myself. The dining room was small and VERY busy-for good reason! So good! Will probably order from here once a week now!“
“Since I started working right down the street, I have been wanting to give this place a try. Being that Venice historically has been more retirees, I was not expecting great sushi but from other reviews felt that it would be at least okay.First, the food was surprisingly good if a bit small on the portions. I had a bento box lunch, which traditionally includes a california roll (albeit on a smaller scale), shumai or dumpling and possibly a small salad and/or soup in addition to the main protein selected. Unfortunately, the Venetian Bento box was simply 8 pieces of spicy tuna and 3 chef's choice nigiri (in this case salmon, tuna and escolar). Nothing else.I also ordered an order of Ikura (Salmon Roe) which was again on the smallish side but the quality was good, although it did not have the pronounced salty taste I expect. So somewhat disappointing, but still good. What really turned me off, and will give me pause about returning was the lady who took my order. Not terribly friendly, but not rude either... until, I asked for low-sodium soy sauce instead of regular. The soy sauce comes in small container with a lid so they just pour it up in the restaurant... it is not prepacked in any way. When I made this seemingly small request, I saw her roll her eyes and act like I had asked for some huge favor. This after I had left a $5 tip on a $20 ticket. So, if you are looking for decent sushi on Venice Island I would say the food is good and the prices were not terrible. Just be prepared for less than outstanding customer service.“
“Ended up here completely by chance. We were planning on somewhere nearby but the wait was too long. Walked in about 7pm and were immediately seated. Server was busy and a bit distracted, but got it done eventually. After watching other servers, I think ours may have been new. We had the 18 piece sushi/sashimi dish and a couple of appetizers and all were very tasty. They had freshly made wasabi (not the paste) and oh wow! The serving platters were fun, but as the ice sculptures melted, they ran over and made a mess. Didnt like that much. Overall very happy and with a few tune ups could be 5 star. We'll absolutely be back.“
“Hole in the wall Hibachi for Venice locals!!! Great Food! Great Service! Yum yum sauce is best of the best. Early bird specials before 530 great deals! Steve the chef is awesome always makes perfect rice and medium rare steak. We will be back! The server has been there over 20 years and always gives great service! We will be back!!!“
“Great food and the best I have found in Florida, which doesn't say much because I'm from Chicago and they don't have good Asian food in Florida, that I have found, so far. Service a bit slow all the time but not too bad. Atmosphere is plain but clean. I would highly recommend this place. I don't eat sushi but people I know love the sushi here. The hot food is great, and it's nice to have a variety to satisfy all. Note that they are not open on Tuesdays and only sell beer and wine.“
