“Came here while we were in town. Got the curry goat, peas and rice. Which were very delicious. I also had plantans they were just ok. Had beef patty it was good too. The ginger beer was very good.My husband got fish. He said it was fishy.Nice portions though. Not a bad spot for island fix.“
“I ordered two large ox tail dinners 4 Feb 24. To my surprise it was $53 and change. When I got home to eat the ox tails they were tough and rubbery. Which tells me they were not cooked long enough. Very disappointed. To salvage the ox tails I put them in a crock pot with a little vinegar to soften the up.“

The curry was so warm and savory, the perfect comfort food. There were no left overs despite the generous portions. My fiancée had jerk chicken. Let’s just say he wasn’t sharing. “I've been going to Contreju since about 2016. I don't know what the hell these people with these low reviews are talking about. This food is outstanding! I don't know what's wrong with these people's pallets. They obviously don't know good food when they taste it. This food has so much flavor. If I could eat it every day, I would. And the owner is so sweet. She greets me every time I come, and ask me how I'm doing. I would say the people that are saying they are rude, have no respect for their elders. I stand by Contreju. I love you guys. Keep doing what you're doing, and don't change a thing. Your food is amazing!“
