“We came here for spring break and had our Labrador. They have a porch where you can bring your dog. They welcomed us with menus and had a bowl of water with a treat. We felt very welcomed. The food was delicious ? Can't wait to come back!“
“Tried this place for the first time today. It is an order at the counter and fix your own drink kind of place, with your food brought to the table via a number you get when you pay after ordering. Friendly (newer) owner, original owner sold it to her back in April 2023. I had a Cuban omelet sandwich and it was very good. I recommend this place for something unique and also because I love small locally owned type places if they are friendly and have good food, and they have both!“
“I cannot believe I’ve lived in this area for so long and today was my first visit to this place. Holy Moly! IT’s everything you want and nothing you don’t. Fresh, delicious food, excellent service, and sane pricing! I’ll be back…OFTEN.“
“Honestly really surprised how awesome this place was. The service was great. All staff very friendly and made great recommendations. Food was excellent. We had the chicken Sandwich and Cesar salad. Kids burger and cheesecake and all were fantastic. Drinks were great as well. Definitely “
“We were in town for a few days and noticed this little “hole in the wall” restaurant always had plenty of local cars in the parking lot, so we decided to give it a try. It was so good!!! Everything we tried tasted great, fresh, and homemade. The prices were great and our waitress was amazing, even though she was super busy. We would definitely go back if we’re in town again. It’s hard to find a good mom and pop restaurant these days!“
“We were visiting from Florida and stumbled across this gem. BEST biscuit sandwiches we've ever had, anywhere!! You could tell the biscuits were handmade and fresh. Friendly staff, seemed to really enjoy their jobs. Without a doubt add this place to your must visit while here.“
“True home cooked diner food with a smile. Best place around for a quick and tasty breakfast or lunch. Nothing fancy at all, however, the place is clean and the biscuits are so good. We will definitely be back when traveling in the area. If you are staying at Amicolola Falls lodge like we were, this place is worth a short, beautiful scenic drive.“
“Easter Brunch was very good. Staff was very attentive with a packed dining room. Menu selection was great with just enough of a twist to add some additional interest. Looking forward to trying dinner here in the near future. Atmosphere is cozy and inviting.“
“Absolutely the most incredible little restaurant. Ellijay's best, for sure. Have been here twice now, and they never fail to give you the best eating experience. Get the au gratin potatoes when you can. If you've never had them before, it will be an eye opener for you like it was for me. Their chicken casserole, chicken tenders, baked fish, and their smoky cheddar beef and noodles are also top drawer eats.“
“5 stars for food, service, and atmosphere! My husband & I tried this restaurant for the first time & we’ll definitely be back. I had the blackened trout, Mac n cheese, & squash casserole. My husband had the chicken and wild rice soup. Everything was delicious. Their biscuits alone are worth eating here! ? Our waitress was wonderful & was even able to suggest different places for us to go while in Ellijay as we were there for our anniversary.“
“Based on ratings, I was really expecting that southern home cooked meal. What I got was 2 minutes between ordering and the waitress bringing my plate. No way it's cooked to order. Very dry cornbread and possibly canned vegetables. It's all decent food, but for me, it's not worth going out for. The fried chicken and hushpuppies had good flavor. Friendly staff that did a good job.“
“We stayed out on the porch because we had dogs. The service was good and they brought fresh water for the dogs. Good prices and the food was fine. My sandwwas so large i was able to take half home and the home-made chips were super.Dietary restrictions: They had gluten free options.“
“We went on Easter night, we were thankful they were opened. The froyo is sold per cup size, which is nice bc you can load your cup up with all the goodies you want. I was sad they were out of chocolate fudge syrup, and maybe add strawberries to the bar. But other than that, it was delicious. We will probably visit it again while we are here on vacation.“
“A club I'm part has meetings here, that's how found it. I began stopping for take out to eat in car with my dog on my way back from Georgia events returning to Murphy. For the type Restaurant The Shack is I would give a 5 but the food is inconsistent, I like the chicken strips and I've stopped and they were out, I had a Hot Dog that was horrendous. Sometimes fries have been cold, the chicken strips have been consistently good. Employees appear to be happy and atmosphere is laid back. Yes I still stop because most of the time it's very good eatin.“
“Over the top food and service ?. The best jambalaya I've had in a long time . All the servers were on the ball even thought they were slammed on Friday night. Fresh brewed sweet tea flowed freely. Great job ? only thing I would change would be the music ? how about some jazz or zydeco. Ps love the building!“
“Excellent place to stop and enjoy a delicious home cooked meal. It’s extremely clean and well maintained the staff and owner are very friendly. The food was delicious and they had Cuban coffee. Definitely a hidden gen in the Georgia mountains.“
