“Even if there were more restaurants on Jekyll Island, I have a feeling there's always a wait at this place! We took a stroll around the beach after getting our names on the list.Inside, you feel like you're "outside", dining on a porch. Service was attentive and excellent. The fried smashed okra was perfectly battered. The shrimp and grits seemed a better value than the shrimp cakes in terms of how much shrimp you get, but both were tasty.“

“It's just a little take-away window. Check your order before you leave because they forgot to give us barbecue sauce for our barbecue sandwiches. That said, THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS. Two weeks later, I'm still thinking about it. I had fried green tomatoes, collards, and macaroni and cheese. I would go back, again and again.“

“I had lunch and dinner at this restaurant during my visit to Jekyll Island. The food is good but don't expect authentic Mexican food. The menu selection is decent. I got the Fajitas Texana (chicken, beef and shrimp) and was really good. The tiki bar setting is relaxed during the day and there is a nice view of the lake. You have enough space in between tables in contrast with the typical crowded restaurants. They have live music all year long“

“Alex was our server, and he was great! We went with his recommendations, and he can make a great mimosa! The food was excellent and came out of a very busy, small kitchen, extremely fast. The place was packed and kind of tight quarters, but it was exceptional. The servers all worked so well together taking are of everyone. We will definitely be back!“

“Our second visit and it was great both times. I had the special--Grouper crusted crab and it was delicious. I had gotten a tossed salad that I sent back because it was wilted and rusty. The chef came out and apologized, removing the charge. My husband a Spinach salad with the crab cake that was tasty. We return again. Great and friendly service, cute place to eat“

“It was a busy Friday night, and our plans at another restaurant fell through, so we decided to try Del Sur. The hostesses were all younger, and when we put our name on the list, we asked them if we could sit at the bar while we waited. One of them said that there was only open seat at the bar, and the two of us couldn’t sit there because it would be too crowded. So we gave them our phone number and walked around a bit. 30 minutes later we came back, and I asked if I could use the restroom. She hesitated, and looked at the wait list to find my name. Once she did, she said “Yes, you can use the restroom”. Weird, but ok, so I did. At that time there was an open seat at the bar, so I called my husband to come inside, and I sat down and he stood next to me. The bartender was so accommodating and sweet, immediately offering to add a stool to the end of the bar so he could sit with me. We got halfway through our drink and our table was ready. Chad was our server, and he was wonderful. We asked for his recommendations, and we went with what he said. We had the lamb empanadas, bread, braised short rib with risotto, and a caprese salad. Everything was exceptional! We will definitely return the next time we are in SSI. Just one small piece of advice, as a former restaurant industry worker for 20 years, for the management - I would educate the hosts about being a little more flexible and accommodating to waiting guests. Especially when you are spending the amount of money you are to dine there. That’s the only negative thing I can say about our experience, otherwise it was exceptional. It was my husband’s birthday, and he said it was his favorite meal he had during our five day visit.“

“We are regulars here and are always treated like family. This is one of the very few remaining restaurants that can still boast the trifecta of exceptional service, delicious food, and prices that are in appropriate relation to the quality of food.We also usually have our toddler with us, and the staff go above and beyond to accommodate families with young children. Highly recommend!“

“The Glynn Academy Girl's Golf Team won the 6A State Championship on Tuesday, May 17, at the Jekyll Island Golf Club. They chose to celebrate together at Marshside afterwards. Once the waitress/owner found out they were State Champs, they put all of their meals on the house. What a super generous thing for them to do to show their support for their local High School! Thank you Marshside & Go Terrors!“

“This is a “family” restaurant and my entire family loves it. It is the very best place to meet with friends and clients as we can talk privately and have a great meal. Having said that, the very best part of this restaurant is their staff—hostess, bartender, and servers. They are all 10 plus on a 0 to 10 scale,“

“Went here for breakfast on a Saturday late morning. Note the hours listed in Apple Maps are not correct. They open at 7 most mornings, not 11. I got southern eggs benedict and grits. Huge serving that left me full the rest of the day. Service was quick and friendly.“

“During our recent visit to Jekyll and St. Simons, we stumbled upon The Crab Trap and were pleasantly surprised by our dining experience. It quickly became a standout among the places we ate during our trip. The atmosphere at The Crab Trap was relaxed and inviting, perfect for a casual meal with friends or family. While it didn't boast any extravagant decor, the coastal charm added a nice touch to the dining ambiance. Now, onto the food. We found the dishes at The Crab Trap to be quite enjoyable, with a decent variety to choose from. While not every dish was a culinary masterpiece, the seafood was fresh, and the flavors were generally satisfying. The menu catered well to seafood lovers, although there were options available for those with different preferences. One aspect that stood out was the service. The staff at The Crab Trap were friendly and attentive, making sure our needs were promptly addressed throughout our meal. Their hospitality added to the overall positive dining experience. In summary, while The Crab Trap may not be the most extravagant dining spot in the area, it certainly offers a pleasant atmosphere, decent food, and attentive service. If you're looking for a relaxed dining experience while visiting Jekyll and St. Simons, The Crab Trap is worth considering.Parking: Parking is kinda limited. We had to park clear on the opposite side of the building.“

“Excellent pizza. Was from out of town, and popped into the store without placing an order ahead of time.Customer service was good. They explained the different size options, and how many topping I could have for a certain price. Was pleased with the medium and two toppings (extra onions, pepperoni). Order was ready inside of twenty minutes.“
“We visited Richland Rum's Brunswick, GA location yesterday. What a treat! We booked the Expressions Tour which included a tasting of 5 Expressions. The tour was approximately 30 mins and very informative. Who knew that rum distilling was so simple? The rum tasting was excellent! We purchased a bottle to take home which was uncorked as we got home.“

“The food here is absolutely amazing. I’m going to attach a picture the owner needs to keep this miserable human being in the kitchen. She should never be allowed to deal with customers. She’s the grumpiest person I have literally ever encountered in my 40 years living. The only reason I keep coming is because the food is so great. My stomach turns ever time I have to witnesse her horrible nasty attitude.“

“We had a quick bite while in town for a day. We were seafooded out from the cruise, so we opted for this no frills restaurant near the pier. This place offers typical bar food with some interesting twists on their burgers. Currently, beer isn't available, only Coke and Iced Tea. I had the Cuban sandwich with onion rings. Awesome sandwich but I have no idea what happened to the rings? Freezer burned, wrong cooking temperature, not sure. Light gray in color with discolored onions. Those were 86'd for some delicious cole slaw. My wife had the taco salad with chicken, excellent. Prompt service.“
“What a beautiful place to celebrate our anniversary! This was our second trip to Sea Island, our first being last February when we stayed at the Cloisters. Wonderful accommodations in a magnificant building. On that stay we played golf on each of their 3 fabulous championship courses. Hence, the reason for our return trip 5 months later. On this trip we decided to spend three days at the Lodge, located right next to two of the three golf courses and adjacent to St. Simons Sound. The grounds were beautiful and the service exceptional. Our room overlooked the golf course and was spacious, beautifully decorated and included special touches to make us feel comfortable and pampered. The staff was very friendly and all seemed to know we were celebrating our 39th anniversary. In fact, one evening when we returned to the room there was a bottle of wine and a plate with 7- huge chocolate covered strawberries. Boy did my wife love that! What a nice touch to a beautiful evening. We had our anniversary dinner in their renowned steak house (Colt & Alison) and enjoyed a perfect meal with superb top shelf service. And - a surprised anniversary dessert! Remember to wear a jacket. I forgot mine and was given one to wear, in my exact size. The Lodge has a beautiful open seating area which resembles an old English manor. Each evening we sat outside and were entertained by their bagpiper who performs at sunset. Naturally, we got to play the courses again and as expected, they were in fantastic shape. Each course was pristine, with manicured greens, white fluffy sand and a green carpet fairway. Our stay was wonderful and I highly recommend this resort to anyone wanting to stay in a Five-star award offering world-class accommodations and golf on three beautiful Championship courses. Until next time … Thank you, Sea Island Walt Karpowski“

“We always enjoy this restaurant, the food , service and atmosphere are great !! While we were a little sad that the menu had changed this summer, everything we tried was very good !! Except for the incredibly tiny oysters , those were so tiny it was ridiculous. Our waiter did serve us two extras to help make up for that .“
