“Excellent. I know Indian food well and they do an amazing job. I tasted the Ono Fish Vindaloo, Daal, Coconut Veg Curry and Naan. All were great.Sit outside and grab a beer from the liquor store next door. Perfect for after the beach. Kid friendly (we had 5 young ones with us).Note that payment is Venmo or cash only.Highly recommended.Parking: No spots. Park in the lot next door which is also free.Kid-friendliness: Chilled with the kids. They loved seeing the chickens walking around.“

“My wife and I enjoyed dinner at Tahiti Nui after completing a boat tour of the Napali Coast. We had walked by the restaurant around 3pm and they were busy, so we expected the same when we arrived at 7pm - correct expectation. We were offered and accepted seating at the bar. Julia was working the bar - wow, she made the best Mai Tai we have had in our eight days on the island!!!! Julia also recommended the Zesty Coconut Crusted Catch of the day - striped marlin. The food was excellent! We then finished the meal with their carrot cake - heavenly!We watched 'Descendants' the night before, the 2011 drama featuring George Clooney...he and Beau Bridges have a brief lunch scene at Tahiti Nui.Definitely a place worth visiting, particularly if you like fish and Mai Tai!“

“INSANE GOOD! Thank God we found this restaurant .. we had planned to go to another restaurant but it was closed and decided to go to Chicken in a barrel .. this was one of our top favorite restaurants in Kauai. Exquisite, flavorful, cook to perfection chicken. Rice tasted like it didn’t have any salt in it but add some soy sauce to that baby and you’re going to want another service of rice! Divine ?? and with the chickens, be careful and don’t give food to them.. they are going to eat your food in the second you’re not looking at it! It’s really funny until happens to you. We saw a couple of tables where people leave their food unattended and the chickens were on top of their table eating everything LOL! So just keep an eye for them and don’t leave your food unattended if you’re eating at the restaurant.“

“Food was really good and service was great. Could be a 10/10 restaurant but the cost of each plate is very very high. Adds up very quickly if you share with the group and on top of that drinks are also quite pricey. The potatoes with cheese sauce was to die for and the filet mignon is also fantastic. Worth a stop in but be aware it will run you up a very large bill.“

“Overall we enjoyed our time at Kalypso! We stopped in for a drink at the bar. The Mai Tais were good, and the atmosphere was fun and lively. We did not order food but it looked good. I have to give it 4 stars because the bar manager (I believe is what she called herself) was negative and seemed to treat her employees poorly. She seemed rude and complained that “a manager should not be having to make drinks” right in front of everyone sitting at the bar. Very unprofessional, complaining, and speaking rudely to her employees while we were sitting two feet from her the entire time. The gentleman serving drinks at the bar however was VERY kind! He was attentive, conversing with people, and working quickly to serve everyone with a smile.“

“This is what I would call a local "hole in the wall". A very nice couple runs it. While we were there a lot of locals came & went, most of whom the couple knew by name:)The omelette was very good. The tropical pancakes were great! I think the coffee was Folgers, the syrup was a basic supermarket brand and the toast was the toast- no choices. But we loved it! No wait. Kind people and pancakes I came home craving:)“

“We really liked the amibance here despite the warm weather (I was sweating) and spotty service. I'll still give them the nod because I really enjoyed my cocktail (s), and the food was actually quite good. The highest compliment I can pay this place is that the food tasted as good as it looked (check out the pics). The dishes were pricey and not so big, but that's nothing a couple of three cocktails can't fix. I mean I'd recommend going to this place for the overall experience. Have a drink or two as well...“

“This was our favorite restaurant in Kauai due to the excellent food, service, and breathtaking views. We stayed at Hanalei Colony Resort and ended up eating here multiple times because the food was better than what we had when venturing in town to Hanalei Bay. I can't express how amazing the service was. You truly felt like the staff cared about your experience.Opakapaka Grill and Bar is the only oceanfront restaurant in Hanalei and it won't disappoint. We had the poke nachos, fish and chips, burger, and tried multiple drinks over the days. Everything was top notch.We were even there one night that they had local music that was excellent. Truly a North Shore Kauai experience.You MUST give this oceanfront restaurant a try when in town. It will have you making a second (or third) trip back.“

“We have been eating at Pat's for the past 15 years. It is one of the great pleasures of Black Pot Beach, Kauai. We usually get a couple of burrito's with a quesadilla. Excellent with a view of the best beach on Kauai Not sure why people keep marking Pat's as closed. It is not - we just ate there today. Remember Kauai is on island time. Sometimes surfing take priority. If he is not there try again the next day. It is well worth your patience.“

“Hey I’m someone who’s lived here my entire life, I’ve seen the ups and downs of this place, I’m writing this because in the last few months this place has gotten a lot better. I mostly get cheese bread garlic knots or a slice, and I will say it’s all very good. The garlic knots are 8/10 and the pizza its self is 7/10. Overall definitely not bad, prices are extremely expensive, but then again everything here is. I know almost everyone that works there, they’re all great, if not a little overworked. All and all worth a visit if you feel like pizza.“

“It's a decent fast-food Hawaiian BBQ joint. We probably could've gotten better food in the area, but even these guys were 20-30 minutes from entering line to getting food while everyone else was an hour at least. Limited seating on old picnic tables that need some attention.“
