“Great find on our drive from the south to the Kohala coast. Such interesting stories, not to mention the incredible food. A must stop! The history told by generation of Andrade family now running it.”
“Solid place with good tasting plant milk and vegan items. No dairy products, which is great but one should be aware going in. The Service was a little confused and slow, and the place got busy right as we were leaving and it seemed to be getting backed up (midmorning on a weekday).”
“High quality organic coffee farm. Tour was excellent and so interesting, we were so impressed. Every coffee bean is hand picked, the care and maintenance of the whole product from start to finish is a labor of love. Highly recommend.”
“Stopped in here after reading another review on our way around the island and it is definitely worth the stop if your in the area. I have never had a pastrami sandwich that good and the chili was amazing, both of which were their special dishes. Super fresh and delicious. The owner even came over and talked with us about how they make the pastrami themselves. Great atmosphere, great people, great local island pub. 10/10.”
“Really cool little place in Honokaa town!the owner was fantastic and you can see she she loves her shop! Ice cream, fudge samples packs, and more! Oh super sitting area!”
“the stones in this restaurant were quarried off island -- unsure where, but the architecture alone is worth the visit. Well prepared foods and beverages. Staff a tiny bit cool at first but warmed ”
“Anyone who thinks "nothing tastes as good as being thin feels" has never had a fruit-filled malasada from Tex's.Pictured here are banana, mango and guava.”
“Best Mexican burrito I have ever had. The place looks like a messy home kitchen and the owner is not bothered by the looks. He asks you what you want and he starts preparing it as he would for a friend. Burritos were served very warm and I savored every bite. A bit out of the way depending on where you stay on the island but definitely worth the drive.”
“Very helpful and kind staff, delicious cookies, country side location. We were planning on getting either their shortbread or almond cookies but they made us a custom mix of both ? Not only delicious but beautiful too. Definitely worth the stop if you’re driving by. Just make sure you check if they are open before you drop by.”

“A new place in Honoka'a. A Korean / Mexican food mash-up. Heavy on the vegetarian and vegan choices. The kimchi is homemade, and the vegetables are organic and are locally grown. They have a daily lunch special.Best of all it is outdoor seating and the food is good. The hours of operation have changed, but do look for Harmoni Foods Kimchi at the local stores on the islandWheelchair accessibility: Access is down a slight incline, but it works for wheeled devices.”
