Love their scallop adobo dish, I will crave for it and so sad we didn't get to have it one last time. Also love their blue new yorker steak dish. Truly saddened that they are now closed, we planned to go one last time (on their last day) but it's a shame they didn't have someone better working for them on their closing day. Whoever answered the phone spoke very rudely and hung up when trying to ask about placing an order. Sending well wishes to the chef/owner on his new adventure.

Worst costumer service I've ever experience. Cook aggressively yelling at customer because they are out of food. I see why they're closing.

A Place to Eat is unfortunately closing at the end of the month, but we've certainly enjoyed visiting while they're still here. I always get the kalua pork quesadilla and my husband likes their steak or macadamia nut crusted fish. Service is always friendly and I've never had to wait longer than 15-20 minutes for our order to be ready. We'll miss you!

Delicious food, we came several times but didn't take a picture of the blue new yorker steaks the previous times, Chef W and his wife Marie and staff were great. Take out only and a few more weeks before Chef retires...so sad, but glad to have enjoyed Chef W wonderful cuisine as long as we're able to. All the best to you and Marie ! Thank you and take care! Everyone go down and enjoy A place to eat, University Avenue -Pucks Alley

Most of the food here is great. It's open till late and it's pretty affordable. But just don't try the tofu white curry. It was pretty bad and I really wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Idk just don't get it if you end up deciding to eat here.

First time trying here. We were unsure of what to eat for dinner and decided to try some place different. DID NOT disappoint at all. EVERYTHING we ordered was ONOLICIOUS!! Tofu white curry had just enough spice for my tolerance of spicy. The Kalua Pig Quesadilla was perfection with the pineapple salsa. Macnut crusted Mahimahi was the best we've had in a long time! And the sweet bun sliders with sweet potato fries... We are definitely coming back for more!

The consistency of the chef is amazing ! Been eating here for years and the food is just as amazing as it was first time I tried it! Everything on the menu is great! Thanks Chef n crew for great service and great food EVERY time! . (Side note, don't eat steaks right before bed , allow enough time for proper digestion , it isn't good to have food sit in your gut over night)

Great comfort food place! I got a recommendation from a friend to try the Kahlua Pig Quesadilla... wow it's really really good! The pork is delicious, and it comes with guac, sour cream, and salsa to top it. Honestly this might be one of my favorite places to get a quesadilla. I've also gotten the Wok Fried Soba. I thought it was decent but not a knock out of the park like the quesadilla was. There's a parking lot/structure behind the building. I'm not exactly sure when you need to pay but if you go at night it's free. We got our meal to-go and didn't take too long to prepare. Will be returning when the quesadilla craving returns!

Sad to hear this place is closing. Ordered the new York steak and it was super good. Tastes as good as some steakhouses. They can probably raise the prices because the quality is that good.

I had ordered two dishes. I really like the "adobo" scallop plate. It had a creamy mushroom sauce. Doesn't taste like what I normally associate with adobo flavor but like this dish anyhow. My steak was over cooked. The steak is advertised as being "Pupu style" which I've come to understand as being chopped up into small pieces so that you can share it as an appetizer. However, it was not chopped up and was well done. I had order it medium rare. It tasted like it was previously frozen. Prices were affordable enough for me to want to come back and try another dish. I only need to like one dish to come back. It's take out only at this time.

I had the Basil Orange Scampi while out in town and OH MY GAWD! Just by the name I figured this place would be good butte expectations were surpassed! Just goes to prove the hole in the wall restaurant will always be top tier

Great tasting food, my chicken wings was undercooked but I ate it anyways I didn't catch salmonella huge plus there, the steak was perfect and well priced. One of the people that shared my meal said the rice tasted like minute rice. ????

Located at Puck's Alley on University Avenue, Chef Willu is an experienced, creative, and efficient chef. I especially like the Adobo Sea Scallops and the Macadamia Nut Crusted Mahimahi. Go soon because he will be closing his business on September 1st, 2022.

Basil Orange Scampi was unflavored and very disappointing. The baby back ribs and noodles were unimpressive as well. Would not recommend

I'm so sad this place is closing down, but I've had some really bomb take out from here. So far, I've tried the adobo scallops, kalua pork quesadillas, mahi mahi, steak and off menu item PIZZA! TLDR: I've always been pleasantly surprised and never had a bad meal here. I spent 4 years of my life traveling up and down University Ave to and from UH Manoa. Not once in those 4 years did I ever visit this place. Through the recent recommendation of Yelp BFF, I am finally able to try some interesting, yet delicious food. A Place to Eat is a fusion of all the good food. To simply put it, this is the place you go to when you have no idea what to eat or you need fuel because it's only 7pm and you started drinking early because it's 5 o'clock somewhere. Go in with absolutely no expectations and try as much as you can on the menu. Thanks for reading my reviews! Let me know what I should try next!
