“First impression, a frat party on steroids. Guys and ladies in togas, ladies with attitudes and great craft beer. When I made my order, the female server rolled her eyes. Reminiscent of almost every frat party I have ever been to. Hurray!!! I should say, the service was exceptional. Everyone except for the one bartender was absolutely stellar. The manager Carrie here is great! Thank you Carrie! THE BEER: Cooke street USB English Style Bitter 5.9% ABV... this is quite good Kaka'Ako Kolsch 6% ABV... what a great Kolsch and a perfect beer for Hawaii. I found this beer style lacking here in Hawaii, but not at Honolulu Beerworks. WINNING!!! Poseidon's Pilsner 5.1% ABV... I finished with this. Wish I could have started with it. It was quite good. 24 dragons Imperial porter 10.5% ABV... thus is a smoked white porter and honestly one of the best beers I have had on the island of O'ahu... FIRE!!! So not what I expected, but exceptionally good, great, excellent! Hoppy Anniversary IPA 5.8% ABV... a delicious IPA, hop forward in the West Coast style Don't read the Rules DIPA 8% ABV... this is a sleeper, lower in ABV and sooo very drinkable, 2 or 3 of these and walking will be difficult Honolulu Beerworks is one of the most authentic breweries in Honolulu.“
“Self serve counter for beer and an extensive Poke' selection. Location is outdoors but it is Hawaii with good weather. Music was low and so were the conversations. Ordered three different Poke', all arrived quickly and all were very tasty. Crew was attentive to backed up people waiting to order while people were tasting, every time that occurred, another employee would quickly assist at the counter to keep things moving.“
“Mamma Mia.... Request for TIA!!!!! Probably one of the best servers will come across... the host working yesterday was super chill too. Her food knowledge was A1 and she specials spiel was very natural! I love when a server can give me a spiel on a dish and it not feel redundant or "scripted." On that note though, I would have totally got the burger of the week if I could tolerate spice... All i heard was jalapenos... I really wanted to try the seafood linguini arrabbiata pasta. However, it does comes with a spicy marinara sauce(for those that don't know what arrabbiata is). Thankfully Tia had suggested to do it with "white sauce" (roasted garlic cream). And that my friend, is why... I say she made an amazing recommendation because I will be back for that pasta! Small things I would like to mention... i wish they had noted which items were a bit spicy... maybe with a . The Bruschetta was a bit spicy for me, but the topping mix was amazing... i believe it was the peppers on top of the crostinis... On another hand, the FUJI APPLE flatbread is the way to GO! If you are looking for something sweet and savory... it WEEERRRKS! The fig jam brings a nice little sweet wander in your mind with the tart of apple and saltiness of the prosciutto... and the bite of the apple with a nice salty finish! Every bite is different honestly!!! I love the balsamic glaze too!!! (Honestly, anything with a balsamic glaze is chef's kiss). Oh yeah and it had a nite bite because of the arugula! As mentioned, my pasta was cooked to perfection. It is not easy to get all the components to be as perfect as it was. The seafood, individually and together, was perfectly cooked and not over done. It was very abundant with the fish, shrimp, and the mussels. Like I said, I want thing again when I come back. I also tried some of my friend's pua'a taco that was tasty and filling! Lastly, i love the location, by the marina! I love the open air experience! The vibe is very laid back and just a nice spot to be. We were in the corner and could see everything. And this is how I imagined celebrating my friend's birthday! I would also like to mention... they do free beer (least that's what i was told... don't hate me if they don't do it anymore) for your birthday... of course you have to be "of age"! Anywhos, thank you sooo much Kona Brewing and Tia for making this one of my best lunch experiences!“
“The Carne Asada Burrito was awesome! The B.O.K. Joy - Blood Orange Kölsch was awesome! The $11.50 order of Chips & Guacamole was a rip. It's a small portion and not homemade, pretty sure it's the mushy stuff you squeeze out of a plastic bag. Otherwise the burrito and beer was great!“
“Lamb skewer shop. A restaurant that serves grilled food. It's delicious ~ I like that it's close to Walmart. Good for a quick drink. Revisit 2023.Absolutely delicious ?Cheap and delicious. The alcohol is cheap and good! 2024 3/31 Happy Easter. It's good to have a break.“
“Stopped in to watch March Madness and cheer for Duke. Visiting from NC. Ordered off the happy hour menu. The crispy rice and spicy was super fantastic. Also, really enjoyed the beer menu. Ryan, was super helpful. Will absolutely come here again when we visit Hawaii. I highly highly highly recommend this place.“
“This is everything I imagine for a local brewery establishment. Very welcoming staff and super chill environment. The beers are solid, the 808 and Skinny Jeans are my faves but the English Brown and Hana Hou are on point too. Love the smash burgers, nachos and pretzels. Didn’t find a bad thing on the menu. Definitely worth checking out“
“Not sure why this joint isn't on Yelp, but happy I get to introduce it. It's a speakeasy above the kaka'ako Aloha Beer that's open only Fridays and Saturdays. They serve a selection of the popular beers from downstairs as well as craft cocktails. The cocktails are mostly classics such as painkiller, old fashioned, paper plane, with some of their own like the aloha. What sets this place apart is how well each drink is made. It's order at the bar and find your own seating type of place so don't be shy and make friends in the lounge seating enclaves. Be friendly with an aloha spirit like the bar staff so no worries sista/brah.Love the dark and gothic ambiance, but not sure what to think of the fairy tail looking reindeer over the stage/fire except that I found it funny once told it wasn't real. There's valet or self parking next to the place and the fee is reduced with validation. If you're really overzealous you can visit Aloha Beer until 11 pm and come up here til midnight.Only recommendation I’d have is to improve the ice. They use regular ice versus large cubes or balls. Regular ice melts too fast, especially on the island.“
“Wish I discovered this place earlier in my trip . Escape the village and walk here . The prime Rib burger is absolutely excellent . The ahi tuna for the wife .. also extremely well executed . Happy hour , great grub , patio … yeah . Come “
“Pros: efficient reuse of an older storefront, with plenty of seating on two levels; a private parking lot with relatively more spots than most breweries in this part of town; their heavily fruited smoothie sours are a rich, rare treat on the islands. Cons: pretty dull on a Friday evening, with no music and limited activity; weird that they insisted on table service while the bar was light; limited beer options overall.“
