“We had not been to Michel's for 30 years and still the setting cannot be beat. The waiter assigned to our table was busy so two other waiters, both named Michael, came over at different times to speak with us. They were personable and knowledgeable. I wanted foie gras as an appetizer and the chef was very accommodating. We shared three appetizers; foie gras, oysters, and escargot which were all first rate. Our entrees were Beef Rosinni and steak and lobster, again they did not disappoint. The reason I gave it 4 and not 5 stars is the elegance it used to have has dropped a notch and excluding the two Michaels, the wait staff lacks the finesse that they all had previously. It is still a very good restaurant and I will go back again.“
“Amazing time and the Fried Chicken and Champs was everything. Service was excellent. Best honeymoon celebration yet. The piano player was outstanding and kept a good vibe all evening. Hats off to the bartender for amazing craft cocktails. Great evening.“
“Went their for our anniversary and La Vie never disappoints as we've been back about 4-5 times as the menu changes and it's always delicious, good portions, outstanding service, and all around better than many Michelin restaurants I have been to.“
“Outstanding experience during our trip to Hawaii. They offer a full plant-based/vegan meal which was very tasty. Even my partner who sometimes eats meat/seafood didn‘t miss anything. Interesting natural wines. The service was also friendly and attentive. They took care of my special diet requirements. We had a great stay, this restaurant definitely stood out during our three weeks in Hawaii.Remark: Google‘s description „modern French cuisine“ is a bit misleading, it is a fine-dining restaurant but it rather serves Hawaiian-inspired, partly local fusion cuisine.Vegetarian options: They offer one full vegan set menu.Dietary restrictions: I had the request to leave our seaweed/high iodine food which was met.“
“We went early to enjoy happy hour prior to dinner. We had a delightful cocktail and Poke snack at the bar. The cocktails were well crafted and tasty and the Poke was exceptional. We seated for dinner and had a shared meal. We had a fois gras mouse appetizer that was truly exceptional. We ordered the evenings special of a Tonkatsued pork chop and a couple of sides. The pork was well fried but a bit under seasoned. It came with a small side of pineapple mustard the helped the flavor and made the dish much more than just acceptable. Service was prompt and warm. All in all a very enjoyable ecvening“
“Needs more stars ! OMG. If there was a last meal you could plan for this is it . Checked every box. Location , parking, price . But more than that, the setting and ambiance are just fantastic. The food transports you to another level of happiness. If you're hoping for bacon and eggs go to IHOP , this cuisine is high end . Servers were on point, kind and patient. Can't wait to go back .“
“It was an experience like none other! We enjoyed tremendously the chef's tasting menu and wine pairing! The service was excellent and the truffles were outstanding! We are so glad we did this. It was pricey but again we were glad we did it!“
“Stumbled across this gem when the restaurant we were intending to go to, was closed. And boy oh boy, sure glad it was!!! This place is outstanding. From the very warm welcoming when first seated, to the amazing service and hospitality, to the very best and most delicious soon. Will be returning eveytime we’re in town! Thank you, Ducs Bistro!“
“I happened to be in the area and remembered about this shop. The owner was the. She's very friendly. The shop is clean and the decor is nice. I ordered the Italian savory waffle. It's a good size and filling for me. I decided to take it out instead of eating in. It was packed nicely. I shared it with my cousin. It was tasty and filling.“
“The food is great. Almost good enough to be worth the hefty price tag. It's a little cafe with a deli counter and a kitchen in back. There are about 8 or so two-person tables with wooden chairs. Drinks are bottles from a cooler. There's no ambiance to speak of. It looks like a little lunch spot. But this lunch spot has wagyu beef burgers topped with prime rib. And the meat is melt in your mouth perfection. 30 bucks. That's a lot for a little lunch spot. Or the $60 prime rib plate. For lunch. The saving grace is that the food is mostly worth the cost. Just expect to pay $25 per sandwich. My date chose the Caesar salad for 15 bucks. I splurged, and it felt like a worthy extravagance, but only once in a very great while. Can't say what dinner is like cause I only had lunch.“
“Had dinner to celebrate our anniversary. Thought we'd try something different. Started with the French Onion and lobster bisque soup...both were delicious! We decided to get their rolls with the different types of spreads. Didn't care for the one with the mushrooms in it. Hubby had the steak and I ordered the misoyaki Chilean seabass. I really enjoyed my dish! Hubby thought the steak tasted good. We were given a complimentary dessert which I thought was sweet and it was just enough to satisfy my sweet tooth. Ambiance was okay. We were sat by the window but on the side facing the parking lot. Would have been nice to have a better view and I did mention that it was our anniversary when I made the reservation but did not make a fuss when the hostess sat us. Plenty of parking. Good customer service. Probably a one and done for us as we're more of a steak place and not so much seafood kinda people.Parking: Was not an issue for us. We were able to park by the restaurant.“
“Selected as a Forbes 5-star restaurant, it is a fusion restaurant that combines fine dining with a Japanese twist. The results of the fusion were very satisfying, and it provides a much fresher and more diverse experience than going to most famous steakhouses. I was also impressed by the use of seasonal Hawaiian ingredients, such as Kauai shrimp.“
“Visited August’s of 2022.Was my first time having French cuisine like this. I wasn’t taste buds weren’t prepared to try some new dishes like these. I guess you could say I’m ignorant to the French taste but overall a great experience. We did the 7 course meal, I wasn’t a fan of some of the courses but the steak and souffle, hands down best steak and dessert we had on Oahu. Lobster was good too. I don’t think I would do the 7 course again if I went back, but would hope I could just order that steak again lol.Paid just under $800 for two.“
