“Best sandwich in Waikiki!! We saw the good reviews and stopped by here today. We were in awe at how quickly they were working through orders. They were so busy they didn’t stop working yet somehow managed to remain so friendly and nice to their customers. The man who served us and the girl who made our sandwiches were both so nice and friendly. As for the sandwich, it was a solid 10/10. I’m gonna have to come back again before I leave as man it was delicious!“
“One of my favorite poke places in Oahu! Their poke is absolutely delicious, and I always love to take it to Kailua beach for lunch. I really enjoy their salmon poke, and my boyfriend likes their spicy ahi. Everyone is also friendly and their service is great!“
“If you go to Kailua Beach early in the morning, there are only a few restaurants where you can eat breakfast. This store is one of them.It would be a good idea to buy sandwiches and other items at the counter in the back and eat them right outside, or take them to the beach. The variety of products was unique, and they also sold kimchi. I would love to try it next time. Most of the menu items ordered in the back space come with chips, but you have to pick up the chips from the bags lined up in the basket, so don't forget.“
“This spot has been on my list for awhile. Happy I finally made it and with parking right in the front too! I love that the service is quick and you don't feel rushed trying to order. It's right in the residential area so street parking it is. Noticed some neighbors walking over for food, how convenient. Super casual vibes in there, very local style. So many choices like any okazuya place. It's easy for me to get carried away and I wasn't super hungry so I opted for the breakfast bento only $7.25 comes with fried rice, 2 eggs you choice and a choice of breakfast meat (spam, hot dog, or lup cheong). It was perfect. I wish I got the hot dog because I didn't realize it was the shoyu hot dog. I love those! Everything else looked super yum and I'll definitely be back!“
“I stopped here for some pork hash and manapua. I love this place. The pork has id way larger than the ones at 7-11 and about the same price. The manapua was ono as well. Service was fast and friendly. Parking can be a little tight, but I've always been able to find a stall. I meant to take pictures but ate all of the pork hash and manapua before I got home. I git no self control.“
“Really good spot for some grab and go food if you don’t want to deal with the restaurants. I had the loco moco made to order and it was great. Just wait was long even tho they were not busy. This is same company as ABC store so you can keep your receipts for $100 gift.“
“First time coming to this place, it's located in Kalihi in a small little shopping center area on a busy street. Parking isn't too hard to find but the parking lot can be pretty busy. My mom recommended for me to go to North Star to try their Chicharon and they didn't disappoint at all! The skin was so perfectly crispy and the meat was so juicy. I never forget to get small side cups of vinegar, they pair perfectly together, They offer plate lunches as well but the chicharon is the star of the show in my opinion! The aunties that work there are so friendly and nice. A good spot in town to pick up Chicharon!“
“This is one of those hidden- in-the-industrial-area of Mapunapuna gems that you need in your life!!In all honesty, I haven't tried anything else from here besides the fried rice. It's everything you want in fried rice... it's greasy, peppery, full of flavor and absolutely satisfying and caloric to carry you through the day! My brother works at Penske nearby and introduced me and my mom to this place. The owner is very accommodating if you have children and you call him up requesting fried rice with very little pepper. The weekend rice is okay but not the same as is during the weekday. It's a sibling/chef thing. You can call ahead to make an order or order in person. The rest of the menu seems pretty good if you are working in the area or diving past it though I highly recommend the fried rice. This joint is as independent business owned as you can get- so support local and try it!“
“This shop has been here for decades. You will always find wonderful things to eat. Take out and cash only. I recommend their spring and summer rolls. Tasty and filling. They have the usual Ba-Le menu and have added several Chinese dish selections which are also delicious. Not sure if they still do it, but in the past, they grew all their own Basil, mint and green onions. A very dedicated couple of owners who have weathered the pandemic and continue to provide that old familiar taste and service that we have come to know.“
