“Wow! A must-go and the best Joe's on the island. The mountain view is beautiful, from pretty much any seat in the place. The garden walk is well worth showing up an hour early to enjoy. Waiting for a table isn't so bad when the garden has so much to offer.Food and drinks were excellent, and the staff was very friendly. All put together, it was a bit expensive but worth it. I'll return next time I'm in town.”
“This is one of my favorite sushi bars on island! There may be a 30-60 minute wait depending on when you go. Being sat by the window at sunset is lovely and being sat by the sushi bar is fun too!The Spicy volcano roll, Waikiki roll, Osaka roll, and steak teppanyaki are all 10/10. The rolls are huge! Be prepared to spend some money, but it will be worth it. We finished off with green tea and strawberry icecream mochi. Can't wait to go back for more!”
“Good homestyle restaurant with friendly attentive staff. They treat you like family here and really appreciate and value their guests. Super convenient for folks who don't want to drive over the hill to dine. My mom and dad come here for lunches occasionally and we've had a couple of birthday parties here. Picked up to go for mom and dad during Covid and service was outstanding then. Good vibes from all of the staff including the managers (previous and current) who are hands-on and check in to make sure guests are happy. They're good with large parties. The servers know the menu well and they're attentive while allowing guests to socialize. EZ parking too!! Mahalo!”
“Authentic Japanese Food, and American. Service is excellent! Manager and waitress and waiters is always checking if everything is ok! Great place to hang out. I will recommend it to family and friends.”
“Looking for authentic sushi? This place is what you're looking for. Seating is limited, but the sushi is top notch, and fresh. Would recommend the deluxe sashimi.”
“The best seafood I had in Hawaii. It is worth the trip from Waikiki for the quality of the poke.Very friendly and knowledgable staff, and a nice space with very clean restroomsKid-friendliness: Very kid friendly”
“This little food truck makes great shrimp dishes! This area has few sit-down restaurants, but there are quite a few food trucks, and Aloha Shrimp was one our favorites. I especially loved the Spicy Lemon Garlic Shrimp. Check it out!”
“Aloha Nursing and Rehab Centre has been a valued partner of my home care agency, Always Best Care Senior Services. They are wonderful to work with, the staff is amazing and they really care about their residents and our community. I wouldn't hesitate to send my family and clients there when the need arises. Thank you Aloha Nursing!!! You guys are awesome!”
“The food is pretty good, but the service is lacking. Not much was explained, even though I said it was my first time at their restaurant and their menu isn’t well explained on its own.Basically they serve all you can eat hotpot OR a bibimbap dish OR some items a la carte (which only include the item. The cost is high for what you get, though now that I know how and what to order here, it wouldn’t be as expensive next time we visit (if).Side note: we didn’t even get a water refill from our waitress… so don’t expect much in the way of service here, sadly.Parking: Only a handful of parking spots in their lot. You’re better off parking on the busy street.”
“They have a new brewer (2023), so older opinions are unclear. I really enjoyed the beer - the new guy is going to do great. For now, no cans to go, limited merchandise, and the brewery taproom is basically a garage door in a parking lot (with plenty of parking, though). Promising, but probably most suitable to enthusiasts.”
“Is there such thing as a calming food court? You certainly need to take a moment in the Pa'ina Ko'olau Food Court as many malls have food court this one was designed with the inspiration of the 'aina or the land in Kaneohe. From a distance it's absolutely stunning as my favorite obviously is the waterfall streaming down in the vibrant shades of blue with waves or I guess skies hanging right above is so zen like which I think represents the waterfall off the Ko'olau mountains. With placements of plants, flowers and motifs representing each items found on the windward side is just spectacular. The crafty side of me was going into overdrive if you look closely at some of the storefront counter are elements of the plants like Ulu, Kukui, and Hala. The circular tile mosaics of a honu turtle and tako is just so stunning! While you're here grab something from Bullkogi, Blazing Steaks, Chinatown Express, Cookie Corner, Subway, Hot dog on a Stick, Papa Johns, Lemongrass Kitchen, Orange Julius/Dairy Queen...and yes it has WIFI!!Yes it's a food court but this vibrant gathering place is just a fantastic indoorsy place to enjoy your bites with the feel of what the Windward side is all about.Thank you!”
“I was surprised at how good the steak was. We originally planned to eat at another establishment, but the wait time was ridiculous. The service was good, but the restaurant itself seemed a little dated. Overall, a surprisingly good experience.”
“I found my "go to" , home away from home, spot for fresh crab legs, shrimp, muscles, clams, and raw oysters!! The cajun/butter/medium sauce is to die for. The service is wonderful - everything you get in "the best" customer service - welcoming, fun, friendly, attentive. The restaurant is clean and they have reserved parking for their customers.”
“Typical husband and wife run establishment. The wait for the food is sometimes extensive but there's only 1 person in the kitchen. I love to order the 3 choice combo plate: chicken katsu, butterfish and mini steak sometimes I get the udon instead of the butterfish. I believe there's 8 tables but it's worth the wait.”
“Never had I imagined eating a hot dog with Kalua pig amd onion rings on it or anything else as I eat my hot dogs with only mustard and relish! Decide to give this place a try and must say the hot dog I ordered called "common kings" was very delicious! Definitely gonna go back for more! It isn't a regular bot dog bun that they use either, which make this hot dog so tasty and unique! The only warning is that it is a little messy due to the size, but totally worth the mess!”
“The is onolicious and beautiful i've always get the Superman maki the takeouts service is fast i love the food because it makes me think about my mom's cooking she would makes Friday dinners with Sushi nights but she doesn't do fancy sushi like Ninja i love ninja”
“Chef David was awesome at doing our tour and answered many questions we had. The food was really good and it's awesome that they are working on sustainability!”
“Hooo this is the place to be!!! Aunty inside so nice and pours amazing drinks and shots! Great karaoke selection and overall great vibe. Dis ya local kine bar that you wanna support!”
“We had a party of four chose the all you can eat lunch! This was our first visit and the food was great and service was fantastic!!! It's fun to grill your own food and make for a good ambiance. Definitely worth the money! We will be back soon. Give them a try!”
“Set the bar too high. I haven't had better tom yum or sticky rice elsewhere. Every time I have it somewhere else, I find myself disappointed.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian and vegan options galore!”
“So good fast stop after shopping, lots of seats. Got seated right away with a friendly smile, "choice". Ordered quickly appetizers arrived fresh, warm tea was good and so was the yummy miso soup, (I would have more if I had room) butterfish was really good either way a tasty portion chicken katsu good size too much for me to finish, not too much batter nicely cooked juicy and good! Perfect place for lunch while shopping @ Windward mall! I will eat here again”
“Great place to get your full. Staff are really cool and friendly, with plenty of aloha.Lunch is where it's at. Bring your own drinks or lettuce. Staff even support you bringing things from Times nextdoor.Always a great time here.”
“During my recent visit to Zippy's Kaneohe, I embarked on a culinary journey that showcased the restaurant's diverse menu and attentive service. Eager to experience the flavors of the Hawaiian cuisine, I initially planned to indulge in a classic breakfast featuring waffles with strawberries and whipped cream, accompanied by a steaming cup of hot chocolate. However, I was informed that both the hot chocolate and strawberries with whipped cream were unavailable at the time. Though initially disappointed, the accommodating staff quickly provided alternative breakfast options and suggested some enticing lunch specials.Opting for a change of plans, I decided to explore the lunch offerings instead. I settled on a clubhouse sandwich paired with fries and Portuguese soup. This hearty combination promised to satisfy my appetite and provide a taste of the local flavors. As I waited for my meal, I couldn't help but admire the inviting ambiance of Zippy's Kaneohe. The restaurant exuded a cozy vibe, with comfortable seating arrangements and tasteful decor. The staff continued to impress with their attentive service, ensuring that I felt welcomed and valued as a customer. When my order arrived, I was delighted by the presentation and aroma of the food. The clubhouse sandwich was a towering masterpiece, featuring layers of roasted turkey, crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, juicy tomato, and creamy mayonnaise, all sandwiched between slices of toasted bread. The accompanying fries were golden and crispy, perfectly complementing the savory flavors of the sandwich. The Portuguese soup, a local favorite known for its rich and flavorful broth, exceeded my expectations. Packed with tender chunks of meat, hearty vegetables, and fragrant spices, it was a comforting delight that warmed both body and soul. With each bite, I savored the harmonious blend of textures and flavors, from the crunchy bacon to the tender turkey and the hearty broth of the soup. The meal was a true celebration of Hawaiian cuisine, showcasing the diverse culinary influences that make it so unique.Throughout the dining experience, the exemplary service continued to shine. The staff were attentive and accommodating, ensuring that my meal was enjoyable from start to finish. Despite the initial hiccup with the unavailable breakfast items, Zippy's Kaneohe proved to be a culinary gem, offering delicious food and top-notch service that left a lasting impression. In conclusion, my experience at Zippy's Kaneohe was a memorable one. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to indulge in the flavors of Hawaii.”
“Took my daughter here for the first time today, and she had so much fun ordering her favorite dishes! They offer a huge variety of sushi and dishes that this will make anyone happy! The dishes add up quickly, though, so our tab ended up running high for just 2 people!”
“This is a place that you need to plan accordingly the wait for our order was 50 minutes and they have no seating so we called ahead and planned a beach day where we could enjoy our lunch. On the website they do caution you that it’s not fast food and normally takes 40-50 minutes so don’t expect great food to be ready in 5 minutes. It’s definitely worth the wait since everything we ordered was excellent! I can’t imagine how good it would be if we ate it after being freshly made. They make their noodles so everything is cooked fresh and made to order. You can even see the noodles being made in the shop. We ordered the Garlic Ulu Portabello, Lechon Malunggay, Adobong Lechon Kawali and then made our own pasta where you pick the noodles, sauce and protein. Servings size are huge so we all shared and got to try a lot of food. My fav was definitely the Lechon Malunggay. Lechon was so crispy and the noodles so tasty. But everything was sooo deliciousThe lady at the counter was so friendly.”
