“Local business that's still thriving! Menu has all of the local favorites. Known for their Korean Chicken and bentos ready to go! Oh and can't forget their yummy selection of pastries, cakes and desserts! Aunties are so sweet and friendly. Location is small, no dine in only take out. It's worth stopping in!“
“We stopped along this road to check out an antique store and stopped in to get some coffee. The woman was so friendly and welcoming. She made some of the best coffee we had on our trip and let us try the rum cake for free. We ended up making some other purchases and took some rum cake home. Really cute place. I would recommend stopping if you're in the area!“
“Honestly this might’ve been our favorite place to eat on our entire 13 day trip to Hawai’i, Maui and Oahu. The best decision we made. If you’re on the Big Island, make this a priority stop! The mixed berry malasadas were untouched by any other malasada from any of the bakeries we tried - they were the best of the best. My oldest kid fell in love with lilikoi after having 4 (you read that right FOUR) lilikoi donuts. Fell in love so much that we’ve now purchased lilikoi butter, jam, syrup and pancake mix to have at our house. The dragon fruit donut was pretty good too! Such an unassuming location, but that breakfast was so worth it. Mahalo, mahalo, mahalo for providing such a great experience and great food. Meanwhile, do you ship to the mainland?“
“Stopped on our way to Two-Step for snorkeling. We’ve been enjoying the coconut- pineapple bread for breakfast, bacon-cheese bread for lunch & chocolate-coffee brownie & white chocolate-macadamia cookie for dessert. All SO Good! Highly recommend a stop at this cute roadside stand when on the Big Island.“
“This place!!!! UNBELIEVABLE FRESHNESS!!!!!! I stoped in to pick up some sweets for a visit to my friends home. It was a toss up between this and another establishment. Man ohh man am I glad I came here. I purchased the donuts on top shelf for my friends home visit. And also got 4 with custard on the bottom. The sugar coated ones. They were unbelievable. The filling in each is generous but not too sweet. I ate 4 of those babies by myself. I will definitely return here to get another fix before we fly out to NYC. Highly recommended.“
“The croissant is like in France, no kidding. I also loved the sourdough seed bread. My banana bread is better, but I liked that they used spelt in theirs. They open to the public 1 day a week, Wednesday at 2:00. Be late and you go hungry! Now I have to keep track of the day of week…“
“I had ordered a cake from Janel for my sister's graduation in Aug. I emailed her a few weeks out from the event and she was easy to get a hold of as she responded to my emails if not immediately, she replied back within 12-24hours. I had last minute changes but she was able to accommodate which I really appreciated. I wasn't specific on size or design, just large enough to feed 11 guests. What I received was beyond my expectations. I asked for a coconut chocolate cake and she made a coconut cake with chocolate ganache. Pick up was at Gypsea gelato on Kealakekua st and it was easy with no hassle whatsoever. She also packed the cake perfectly for my commute back into town ensuring that it will be safe during transport and all the handling from my car to the hotel to the restaurant. Janel delivered exactly what I wanted and more. The cake was beautifully decorated and delicious. I wish I had taken the rest home with me but I was unable to because we were flying out early the next morning and the hotel fridge was too small to save leftovers. This is definitely the place to order your custom cakes if you're in Kona. Janel's cakes are not only a work of art but they're also super ono! Thank you Janel!“
