I love supporting the culinary student program at Mark's Place but we go there because the food is really good ! The Ahi Tofu burger wrapped in lettuce is my favorite! Try the Fish or Teri Chicken if you're really hungry ! Plates are huge with rice Mac salad and green tossed salad too . You can ask for tossed green salad only and they are happy to accommodate the substitution. I love all of their sauces and the salad dressing is perfect !

This place is awesome! Best Hawaiian bbq in Kauai. Huge portions. Quality meat & rice. The potato mac salad is a mix between your classic Hawaiian mac salad & potato salad - we liked it. Worth a try if you like Hawaiian bbq! The location is interesting - just in the middle of a bunch of warehouses, but that shouldn't deter you from coming. But it's worth a trip. They don't have seating inside, but we sat outside at the picnic tables. My one negative is that an extra teriyaki sauce cost over $1 :( but the food is flavorful enough that you don't need it. It would be nice to have with the rice, but I'd probably pass next time. Make sure you check the days they're open/closed, as well as the hours! Last time we missed our chance to come, as we tried to come on a Saturday & they were closed. I think they close early too - not open for dinner. We came for a late lunch & didn't even need to eat again for the day.

Food was great. Service was quick. Outdoor seating was clean. Haven't had anything we haven't liked.

Really good food, great portions at a nice price. The price for trying 3 items versus 2 items or 1 item is only a few dollars difference, so I went with the 3 items. I chose Korean chicken, teriyaki chicken, and beef stew. Surprisingly, my favorite of the 3 was the teriyaki chicken. I live in Seattle where teriyaki joints are common place and I eat teriyaki nearly weekly. But the version here tastes like it comes straight off someone's backyard charcoal grill. The Korean chicken tastes basically like mochiko chicken with a honey dressing. Really crispy, slightly sweet and delicious. The beef stew was tomato based with I wasn't expecting (I prefer a brown gravy), but it was also tasty and chock full of tender chunks of beef. It was a lot of food and I ended up not finishing it (which is rare for me). The 3 plate combo has a pretty big portion for each item on their own. It's definitely big enough for 2 for lunch. It's somewhat of a shame that this place is not open for dinner, because after this I was ready to take a nap.

Great spot for plate lunches. Loco moco and Korean chicken are our favorites!

Decent Mom-N-Pop food joint. I got the "Sample Platter" which had homemade stew, chicken and teriyaki beef with rice. I was impressed with the stew and the chicken was decent. Large serving...had leftovers. My wife had the hamburger and she said it was great. Decent food at a fair price. I'd go back.Parking: Not many spots

This is the ultimate place for the Hawaiian Mixed Plate. The large plate included crispy and juicy chicken katsu, perfect teriyaki beef, an incredible tasting beef stew, mac salad, rice and some saimen. The food was delicious and the best mixed plate we have ever eaten. Nice and casual with outdoor picnic bench seating We also tried the butter mochi which was delicious

Great little restaurant for lunch. The cheeseburger was great. Food came out quickly. My husband had a combo plate that he liked but couldn't finish.
