“Great food service atmosphere. We took our friends for their first time eating here and they were impressed. Great customer service and we got in quickly to have our ono party boat. We love this place and what a treat to come here with great friends and Ohana.“
“My significant other and I came at 2pm on Saturday, 10/28/2023. The aunty working the counter was nothing less than kind, friendly, and amazing. Her service was GREAT! I wish I got her name but I hope she gets to hear/see this review because she went above and beyond. And overall, maybe our dining experience perfect.Total for everything was $45, which is great for 2 people who are looking for fast, tasty sushi. I've always loved ninja sushi waipio, and I truly believe they are one of few places who works constantly towards better quality and presentation. They've made so many improvements. 10/10“
“Our server Maika is amazing, first time ever here. I recommend this place he was amazing so professional and kind. Thanks so much for your hospitality, and excellent services. Now and days is hard to get this treatment and we were 5. Thanks great job.“
“Ok... what a surprise. Haven't been here for years. My grandparents used to always meet us there. The place was upgraded and looked so clean. The are umbrellas hanging from the ceiling in a decorative way. The interior design was done nicely and modern. It felt comfortable to be in. Our family ordered a bunch of the regular Chinese food like shrimp canton, fried rice, cake noodle and other stuff. They also have a sushi bar, so that stuff was ordered as well. Leaving a very happy and context OHana of 10. We have been there a few more times after that.“
“Food is exceptional. Showed up as a picky eater. No fish. Food here is so damn good I've started eating new foods and have been at this sushi spot well over 50 times in the past 4 yearsGo to's are-Calvin's choice-SOS-Red Dragon-Spicy AhiBut holy S#!T the food here is fire a must whether tourist or live here best damn sushi on the island, always playing fire kpop music going goblin mode and great vibes. This place is a MUST puts dorakus to shame plus, fraction of the price. Get you some good a$$ sushi and stop by.“
“Amazing food. Fish is so fresh. The bowls are dynamic and flavorful. After moving to Oahu, I became obsessed with poke and would go out of my way to eat it from different places. I found Aloha Cones one random day as I was looking for the nearest place. Since then I have not found a poke spot that I like more, and I did indeed keep looking. If you ask me, this is the best poke on the island. Two years and counting, Aloha Cones is still at the top of my list.“
“I arrived and started looking over the menu and at all of their different sushi/bento combos. Very overwhelming to navigate for my first time, but no big deal I eat sushi 100+ times /year. Sometimes every day twice a day.I ended up ordering the salmon/ahi poke bowl along with a samurai Maki. I also tried to order a "tuna avocado maki". This is where my problems started. The guy taking orders told me "we don't have that on the menu". I asked, can you make it for me and charge whatever you need to charge. He doubled down and said "we can't do that. We can make the spicy ahi Maki or an ahi hand roll and add avocado". Again I said, I don't want that. That comes with cucumber and spicy tuna. I would like a Maki roll with ahi tuna and avocado, that is all.At this point he still refused to make it so I said forget it, ill just stick with the poke bowl and samurai roll. When my food arrived (I ate in the location), he pushed the tray too hard at me and spilled the miso soup. (Not a lot, but I could tell he didn't like me from our exchange about the tuna avocado Maki and this was probably a subconscious action. He asked if I wanted another, I said no its fine.Lastly, the spoon for the miso soup is basically flat. I had a very difficult time eating with the spoon because you can't pick up any liquid with it. I ended up just picking up the bowl and drinking. The flavor and quality of the sushi was excellent and I had no issues along those lines.I hope this review helps the owner / management correct a few service related issues to improve this location!“
“Love the sushi and service here. The sushi is great...huge pieces of nigiri sushi and rice. Too large to eat 1 piece in 1 bite, which I know is not the way to eat sushi, but it's too much for one bite and I LOVE IT! Delicious, gilling and great personable, friendly service every time.“
“Having family come in from the mainland, we living 5 minutes away. . decided to take them for breakfast!Loco Moco was the bomb! Service was excellent.. didn't wait long and food was great ?Main breakfast ..2 eggs..2 bacon..3 Portuguese sausages..2 scoops rice & coffee for $15“
“This is my second time coming to Yohei. It is my go to restaurant now every time I come back home to visit. Not only the quality is great but the quantity is lots as well especially for the price. But overall the ambiance and the people are a breath of fresh air. Too bad there is not much great customer service in the restaurant buisness like they do have at “Yohei”. Thank you again so much for the awesome food and service!❤️“
“It's been a while since we ate here again. And I'm just so amazed with all their staff how do they work, they have a great team work that provides an amazing customer service.Their food is so delicious and have a big portion how they prepare and the presentation of the food makes me enjoy it more.“
“Rock n' Sushi is my FAVORITE sushi spot on Oahu. I love visiting for birthdays, big celebrations, or just when I want a fancier dinner. Rock n' Sushi's rolls are my favorite things to order and I recommend sitting at the bar if your party is on the smaller end. Their rolls have a great mix of flavors and always HIT! I also recommend the miso eggplant, something so simple is SO good! Don't underestimate their desserts either, I always get the tempura ice cream and sometimes they have seasonal flavors from Lapperts. Service is normally good, love the man behind the sushi bar! Reserve ahead of time so you don't have to wait outside.“
“The place is nicely decorated and the staff were really nice. It's a buffet style so they give you the soup st start with and you pick things to put in your soup from the fridge. I think its about $35-38 a person. Not exactly sure, but they do military discount only on the person with an ID not the whole partyParking: It's a small parking lot in the front and a small lot in the back“
“Fresh n lite tempura, everything savory. My husband likes all u can eat buffet so we know we r gunna pay more to satisfy him. I eat "like a bird" but Happy Bird"here n we all know that "If Mama bird ain't happy---ain't no body gunna b happy"“
“I've tried this place several times and finally got a chance to write a review. I've always ordered the 2-choice(combination) Teishoku and tried different kinds of items. After every visit, I must say, everything was good! The quality and presentation is top notch. This time, I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki and Mini Chirashi combination. The chicken was excellent. It was soft, and the teriyaki sauce was very flavorful, not overwhelming. The mini Chirashi (which was an extra charge of $4) came with ahi, salmon, shrimp, tako, and ika. Everything was fresh and tasty, especially when slightly dipped in wasabi/shoyu sauce. Tan ordered the combination salmon and spicy ahi. I had a piece of salmon, and it was cooked to perfection. The Spicy Ahi(another extra charge of $3) was also flavorful. It was more on the creamy side than on a chunky side. Both combinations were served with miso soup and a bowl of greens. Hot tea was also included. The only downside of all my visits was that they always ran out of Ahi Tempura. We came in 15 minutes after opening at 5:15 pm, and it was sold out 5 minutes prior. Hot item!! I would have given them a 4 star, but the food quality and customer service were superior. It made up for that star. It was so good we made a salmon takeout order for tomorrows lunch.“
“This spot has been on my list for awhile. Happy I finally made it and with parking right in the front too! I love that the service is quick and you don't feel rushed trying to order. It's right in the residential area so street parking it is. Noticed some neighbors walking over for food, how convenient. Super casual vibes in there, very local style. So many choices like any okazuya place. It's easy for me to get carried away and I wasn't super hungry so I opted for the breakfast bento only $7.25 comes with fried rice, 2 eggs you choice and a choice of breakfast meat (spam, hot dog, or lup cheong). It was perfect. I wish I got the hot dog because I didn't realize it was the shoyu hot dog. I love those! Everything else looked super yum and I'll definitely be back!“
“Book ahead and get there by 8:00!Great fish. So delicious after the long flights that day, it being so close to the airport was a big bonus.Recommended!Parking: A few spots out front but deeply annoying. The ‘hood it’s in means lots of restrictions, driveways for commercial businesses, so … bring your island patience.“
“Coming home from Nebraska, ninja sushi is always a MUST. Their customer service has always been up to par and they never failed to provide such great hospitality. Usually we do take out, but this time we decided to dine in. This location has about 6-7 tables that can accommodate up to 4 individuals with more seat options outside that consist of umbrellas to provide shade. Upon entering, it is necessary to grab a parking ticket to enter the parking lot; but with a purchase from any of the vendors, validation covers 2 hours. The staff is friendly and easily approachable. Whenever there is a question, they are so willing to answer with such great detail. My personal favorite is the Superman roll & Tiger roll. Since there is 4 adults, this was more than enough to satisfy our sushi fix! Always recommend! Another great item not featured that we usually get is the Ahi Lover's! Portions are valid for the price you pay! Location is clean, friendly, and provides quick service. Lots of variety!“
“I've been coming here for years, it's been a little tradition for me and my mom to drop in for some food any time she comes back to visit O'ahu. I haven't been back here for years but I came back tonight to grab some food and the owners and their daughter (i believe) were so happy to see me. The experience made me feel whole and so good inside. It's not long before these hole in the wall old school food places start disappearing. Appreciative of the smiles, awesome food, and soul I feel every time I visit Ohana sushi. I recommend trying it out if you haven't before, make it a tradition and i doubt you'll be disappointed. If you've already been here with good company im sure you understand what I'm talking about. Much love auntie and unko!“
“This place never fails. Butterfish is ono and the sushi bar is an experience all of itself. I always recommend Tadashi to visitors who want good sushi.Service is always pleasant and swift.Parking: Ample parking but can get full fast during dinner hour's“
“Yet another great place to take out sushi. Many options for nigiri, rolls, bowls, and bento. The salmon nigiri was particularly soft and everything was well made. Would visit again. Easy to find in the small foodcourt of Pearl Highlands with lots of parking.“
“The food is great I love their chow fun and fried chicken. The chow fun is not greasy at all our perfection just like the chicken. My husband is always buying the chicken for his lunches. The service is also awesome great family. The ambience is low down chill just be yourself and you'll enjoy the food please give it a try this month soon.“
“Our company previously hired them to do a "live-sushi" bar at our event, was a big hit! Having the sushi chefs roll sushi right in front of you was also fun to watch! Also, great sushi platters! (but you must pre-order, as they primarily do catering now) They're my go-to place whenever I have to bring food to a party. Their sushi platters are always enjoyed by everyone.Definitely recommended!!!!“
“Love the environment of this place! It’s got great vibes and seems very family friendly. Portions are big which is a win! Friendly staff and chefs.Vegetarian options: There is vegetarian sushi rolls and taken into consideration. For hibachi, you can get just the veggies with rice/noodles. Butter is used for cooking but they will make it without/tell you ingredients. Separate parts of the girl are used for restrictions.Dietary restrictions: Staff always asks when ordering if there is any allergies or notes for the chef. This could be dietary or making sure meat is cooked well done due to pregnancies. Great at checking before cooking. Separate parts of the grill is used for dietary restrictions.Parking: Depending how busy, parking may be further away but it still close and within the shopping center parking lot.Kid-friendliness: Chefs put on a show catering towards children and family environments! Great staff that is super understanding.“
“We found this place on another online platform after going to the Dole Plantation. It is located in a strip mall that looks old and run down so we were skeptical. We located the restaurant in the corner of the lot (next to the Goodwill). We sent a scout in take a look prior lol. The scout gave us the all clear so we entered the restaurant, which was clean and had open tables. We were greeted by a nice man who took the time to get to know us and give us some island history. Ok to the food: There were 4 of us. Each ordered a different entree. 1. Spam hand roll and a tempura hand roll - deliciousness 2. Energy roll- this tasted very fresh and was a roll with eel and avocado on top with eel sauce- deliciousness 3. Ahi poke bento box- came out looking just like the picture on the menu( how many times does that happen!) lots of fresh fish and rolls- deliciousness 4. Tempura shrimp bowl with spicy sauce on top. Tempura shrimp Packed in a bowl on a bed of rice. - deliciousness 5. Spicy ahi poke bowl- came out with tons of fresh ahi covered in spicy mayo and sriracha sauce. - delicious if you like spicy fresh fish. This mom and pop shop deserves your business. The food (all of it) tasted fresh and made with care. I would not write it if it wasn’t true. They will serve you a complimentary miso soup to start ( no spoons here, sip out of cup!) All in all great grub. We will be back!“
“Love coming to this place. Brought my husband for the first time and he loved it. The food is always fresh! Environment is always cool and clean. Staff is always very friendly and welcoming. I love coming here, even if it's 30-40 minutes to get to.“
“The hostess was very accommodating and patient while we waited for our entire party to arrive. The cook was not as entertaining and interactive with us as those we've had in the past. We requested our ribeye to be medium rare. What we got was closer to a very medium, so more hard and dry. Comparing this ribeye to a recent lunch we had a week or two ago that was cooked to perfection and a melt in your mouth quality. The meat that we received tonight seemed to be of a lesser quality and overcooked. The lobster tails were very fishy tasting, small and didn't look appetizing. The noodles should be eliminated from the set items. 2 of 5 in our party had a sore stomach after arriving at home. The waitress was attentive making sure our needs were met with refills, etc. It will be a long while before our next visit. Tonight was disappointing.Parking: Lots of parking close to restaurant.“
“There was a wonderful koi pond in this restaurant. It was not that busy. However, they seemed shorthanded because I kept looking for the waitress for a take out box. Finally, I had to stand up and ask for one from a man in a red shirt who appeared to be helping another table. The food was good. I especially liked the tempura of pumpkin, and string beans, the shrimp tempura was perfect. I ordered miso Butterfish. My husband liked it, but I did not like that it had a lot of black char on it. I read somewhere that the black Char is carcinogenic.“
“I wonder why they serve human food but have the name “fish food”? hm, the world may never know. anywho, i had the spicy ahi bowl (?) that came with rice, some fish, and 2 pieces of gyoza with sauce. the fish was good and had the spiciness of a 3.5 on the caucasian scale of spicy; has a little kick but won’t make you cry out for jésus or anything. the convenience of having poke on base was amazing but the portion size was not! $15 or so for a small bento sized meal is a little pricey as poke bowls at foodland are about $5 cheaper and they give you more fish and rice as well. For the size of fish food hawaiis spicy ahi, i have attached a pic to show the size with an ice breakers ice cube gum for a scale (didn’t have banana for scale)“
“I've been coming here for years if I want fast, to-go sushi. I always order their Spicy Ahi Don and Masago Nigiri. I added Unagi sauce to my spicy ahi don and it was delicious. It's a 10 cent extra charge for the unagi sauce. I definitely want to try their other items next time!“
“There's this person in our office who loves eating here. She goes to pick up and brings back to eat at her desk. So one day, she extended this offer to our office section. Not knowing what to order, we all just took a chance. What did we think?Well, the really funny thing is whatever we ordered that first time has been the same exact thing we have ordered ever since.Isn't that just so amazing? Hahaha :DOne of us likes to order the calamari with three multigrain musubis and the rest of us usually order the butterfish with multigrain rice. The butterfish is so delectable!! Sometimes my work friend orders the chicken bento. What makes these bentos fun to eat for me is not just the flavor and taste but bc of the added yummy tsukemono and food items. For instance, we get a piece of fried chicken, tamago egg (tamagoyaki aka Japanese egg omelette), variety of tsukemono that come with our butterfish bento. And most importantly, all taste really great! If you want a substantial meal with a variety of tastes and you happen to be in the older Kapolei area (by the Kapolei Zippy's and Consolidated Theaters down the long street from Costco Kapolei), this is a great place for a satisfying meal. Now, if you're a guy who tends to eat more, you might need to order a little more for yourself, but for us women, the one bento might be sufficient.“
“My fiancé and I have been going here for 5+ years now and the food as well as the service are always on par. They are located in the shopping center across from Home Depot in Kapolei near Starbucks and the Navy Feral Credit Union (first floor). The staff are so welcoming and friendly. The owners are hands on and always involved no matter how slow/busy it is. Whether its checking in on customers to make sure their orders are correct or just for a quick chat, they're always building great relationships with their customers. Due to covid, they stopped the conveyer belt, so the orders are now all hand delivered by the staff. I enjoy watching the chefs prepare the plates near by. They are always organized and their sections are very clean. Knowing this makes me enjoy eating here even more. My go-to's are the spicy tuna crunch, king kong, king kong jr, & Ron's choice to name a few.“
“Old school, as in decades old turning out two menu items: 1. Small Bento - $9 (1 hand formed unseasoned musubi, 1 piece maki sushi with seasoned tuna and dried shrimp, 1 plain sushi, 1/3 boiled hotdog, seasoned tofu, and 3 boneless pieces of sweet chili pepper chicken thigh). The seasoning for the sushi rice is very light, not vinegar and slightly sweet. 2. Large Bento $11 (Add an well seasoned inari sushi, slice of luncheon meat and boiled shrimp). Items have changed over the years and there was a momentary dip in quality when the matriarch passed and the next generation found its footing but it's back. Warning: All the food is premade and is at room temp. If it bothers you, it's called a microwave. Will you like it? That depends. When it comes to old school okazuya flavors, what you grew up with is what you think is good. This is the food I grew up with. Fourth generation Japanese American whose family originally immigrated from Fukushima and raised subsequent generations around the Waipahu plantation that was largely Japanese. Sugar, light soy, ginger, sake. Sweet and light flavors. To me, good eats.“
