“Best NY Pizza in the Midwest. I grew up in NY where freedom as a kid meant having $1 and being old enough to walk to the corner pizzaria on your own - or having $2 so you could bribe an older sibling to go with you if you weren't old enough to go alone. Plenty of places call themselves NY pizza, but don't come close. The pizza and pasta at TONY is authentic NY. The garlic knots and zepoles are perfect. It's our first stop whenever we're in Des Moines.“
“This is one of the few restaurants I've eaten at where I didn't have any complaints. The food was delicious from their pizzas to their desserts. The food was hot and ready when told it would be. I really enjoyed the sauce they used for their pizzas. The menu had many different options from pizzas, deserts, calzones, to salads. You can get slices of pizza for around $5, which may seem expensive, but the slices are large.I tried the lasagna pizza and was I in for a big delicious bite. The pizza was huge, nothing like I've had before. For the price you pay, it seemed reasonable. This location is small and more for take out. This may be an issue if you want to dine in or don't live in the area.Overall, I would give this pizza place a try if you want to actually be full and not reaching for something else after.“
“I arrived just as the location on Westown Pkwy was opening. The employee was not troubled at all. [I would have been stressed because I'd want time to get organized:)]I picked up a large Grinder to share. Everyone was DELIGHTED with it.Thanks for a great experience!!Dietary restrictions: I appreciate the menu is very clear regarding allergen notifications.“
“I haven’t tried the food yet but I hear the pizza is amazing so I went ahead and gave it a 5 ⭐️ , I stop here occasionally to enjoy their pineapple cider beer and chit chat with the other patrons and bartenders, this place is comfortable, inviting and clean, music is great and not too loud during the earlier hours of the day/evening. They also have a cute outdoor patio and parking is never a issue.“
“Cool place with chill atmosphere and friendly staff. The deep dish pizzas were delicious and, even as a glutton for pizzas, quickly filling. Not to mention that the tiramisu was pretty good. Went here with some friends and we all had a great time.“
“Had dinner with a coworker here and I can't say enough good things about it. The atmosphere was great, the service was fast and attentive, and the food....we had the Mama's meatballs and Margherita pizza, and OMG they were both fantastic. We were there for happy hour and our food was half price with a decent selection of other half price items. I may have to get an order of those meatballs to go before next week when I head back to MD.Highly recommend this restaurant!!!!Lol, yes I took a bit of the meatballs before I took the picture. And my friend really enjoyed the house wine, said it was very good. She had the house red.“
“Blaze Pizza in West Des Moines is a true gem for pizza lovers! The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between modern and cozy, ideal for any dining occasion. What stands out is their 'Build Your Own' pizza option, offering an array of fresh ingredients that cater to all tastes, cooked to perfection in a blazing oven. The staff are notably friendly and helpful, enhancing the overall experience. It's not just a meal, it's a delightful culinary adventure - highly recommended for anyone seeking top-notch pizza in a welcoming setting.“
“First time as a new resident to the area.First, the place had a line out the door at dinner.Second, 7-8 people working non stop but food was coming out steadly and all the employees were still smiling and and friendly even though they were slammed.Ever seat was full and at least 12-14 people in line but it was Friday night.Food was hot, fresh, good quality ingredients. Can't wait to return“
“Really great! It's possibly the best pizza I've had since we moved here. Order was placed and made ready at exactly the time they said it would be. Had two pizzas, wings, and salad. Everything tasted really good, only knock would be the wings were a little tough like they were cooked just a little too long. Will definitely be back.“
“We stopped in the evening of 3/17. We got a large sausage, mushrooms and onion pizza with a side of garlic cheese bread. Hands down the best pizza I've had! The staff was very helpful and positive. Large pizza and cheese bread, softdrinks was under $30. We will go back.“
“The Kee downtown Waukee - breakfasts 10am-1pm on Sat/Sun. Don't chintz on this place, if you're looking for a lil dive barish breakfast. Small menu, but good food! Sausage and jalapeño breakfast pizza (I got 10"): loaded 10"or a large pizza crust with eggs, cheese, sausage, gravy and jalapenos was super good. I added more red chili flakes on top but that's personal preference. Flavor-wise it was good and was very very cheesy! Loaded potatoes: diced seasoned potatoes served with bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, toast (add 2 eggs on top, cheese, and gravy +$3. Coffee: it's from a Keurig not my personal favorite, I prefer a plain ol coffee pot cup of coffee myself. Definitely a small, fun place for breakfast that isn't overpriced, over-fancy, nor over-rated. Give it a go if you want a low-kee breakfast. -- eating breakfast at The Kee.“
“Food was fantastic! Came back again to get the 9" taco pizza. The nachos were excellent! Beer was really cold from the tap! Great place to watch Caitlyn Clark break the scoring record. Disappointed the big screen projector has a burned out bulb.“
“Not sure why but the gas at this Casey's has been consistently 20 cents lower a gallon than other Casey's locations in Urbandale and West Des Moines. Worth the extra mile when the tank is on E. This location is brand spanking new so it's still got that new store smell. Lol Typical Casey's as far as customer service and selection.“
“My husband is a Shaq-a-roni addict, and I have to admit I sneak some when nobody is looking to watch me mess up my low carb diet. It's delicious, and it's huge. He gets several meals out of it. So far, they still have it at a reduced price, too. We have always had it delivered and never had a problem with the delivery time or anything else. The pizza is piping hot on arrival. I should try their wings, eh? OK, I'll stop now. I'm making myself hungry.“
“Tried Blaze pizza for the first time. It was a nice pizza place and not too expensive. I thought they were a little light on the pizza toppings, but the pizza tasted good. Four people can eat for about $11 so it won't break the bank.Kid-friendliness: If your kids like pizza, then this is a good place to take them.Parking: The entrance is off the main mall parking lot.“
“Stopped in for a drink after work and had a wonderful experience. The food was flavorful and provided a wonderful new insight to Neapolitan pizza that I hadn’t yet experienced. The open concept layout is inviting and creates an intimate experience where you can actually see your order prepared and fired in the ovens.Brady provided wonderful service and made sure that I was always taken care of and had everything I needed. Evelyn also was very kind and has an intoxicating smile that makes you feel right at home.Overall, I had a wonderful experience and will absolutely be coming back to experience more of the wonderful food and service that Franka has to offer.“
“Taking a break from packing to move, so went today for the 1st time for a 10" pizza. Pros: * Very nice flavor. * Not overly saucy, which I prefer, but they did give me a small side of extra sauce, as well as 2 packets... 1 Parmesan cheese, the other red pepper flakes & also enclosed 1 pepperoncino, which was interesting. * I ordered extra cheese & pepperoni & it had PLENTY of both. * A 10" is hearty enough that it's 2 full meals for me. * Very nice staff, friendly & I was offered a 15% discount as it was my first time going, which was a nice touch. Cons: * Price. For a 10" with 2 toppings it was $15 & that was with the 15% discount. Granted, I don't get pizza take out often (I usually make my own from scratch), so that might be par for the course, but I think it's high. * Crust was a bit oily, but that's par for the course with most pizzas, which is why I usually make my own. Good to Know: * They don't sell slices. Overall... 4*... 5* for flavor, 5* for nice employees, 3.5* for price.“
“Fun place to take kids! 2 things I'd complain about is there were a few times we went to one of the bars to get a drink and had to wait at least 5 mins for someone to come help us and they are pretty much cashless at all the bars. The lady was kind enough to pay with her card and take our cash though.“
“The service was phenomenal!!! It was a special occasion, and we were treated like kings and queens!! We got free balloons, and NATE EVEN PAID FOR SOME OF OUR PIZZA!! Our server, Robin, was super nice and friendly! Overall, The Tavern team made sure this 15th birthday party was a success!!“
“Would have loved to give a 5 start review but I can’t. First it’s a fantastic bar, super friendly staff, great atmosphere and has a patio. However the two things that I personally didn’t like was an automatic $1.50 charge to any tabs paying with a card. Last thing I didn’t like was when I walked inside it immediately smelled like vomit. The restaurant was super clean and didn’t give off a vibe that they don’t regularly clean. Maybe it was something in the carpet or perhaps another patron. I would visit again.“
“I have always loved Godfather's Pizza. Been a loyal customer for decades. Some of the best pizza I've ever had. And I'm so glad that they haven't sacrificed quality to make cheaper pies like Pizza Hut, Little Caesars, Domino's among others .“
“Always had good pizza from here. Tonight isn't any different but I am disappointed in the size of an $8 side salad. One tomato, 2 Banana Peppers and a couple string carrots. Pretty weak for an 8 dollar salad. Consider doubling the size please. 36 bucks for a small pizza and very small salad. I know door dash fees aren't all yours but please consider the salad.“
“A big 5 stars id go even more for this place! First time we ever tried Papa Johns pizza yes FIRST time just thought it was another fast pizza joint but it's truly not. Very nice employees! Excellent pizza we even ordered a second after just the first slice of the new calzone stuffed crust with mushrooms. A good sweet sauce just knocked it out the park for my wife and I. The second pizza we just had to try was the Philly cheese steak and we did that in the calzone stuffed crust as well and we didn't try it till we got home and OMG delicious! We will return to this Papa Johns in the future well done guys! Super happy with these pizzas and look forward to trying some of your others very soon thank you!“
“Had a great experience here. Food was great, we got two appetizers and two pizzas. We brought our children (2 &5) and they shared our appetizers and pizza and they loved it. I had read previously that someone said it smelled a little like the cigar bar. I did smell that right when I walked it but it was very faint. My husband thought it smelled like a hotel pool. I didn't even notice it after a couple minutes. Someone else has mentioned they wished they had diaper changing stations in the bathrooms. They don't in the women's, but there is also a Family Bathroom that does have a changing station. My only couple complaints is that it seemed like there were only two employees running the whole front of house and so it took us a while to get told to sit wherever we wanted and then to get greated after we did sit. Service was good after that. Also, while everything was great, it is a little pricier. One specialty pizza, one two topping pizza, a spin dip, garlic bread, and two bar drinks (rum & coke and whiskey & coke) was $90. We would go back for sure, it's just seems more like a splurge treat than a place we would be able to afford regularly.Kid-friendliness: Diaper changing station in family bathroom, kids menu options. No one seemed to mind the kids.“
“This Papa Murphy’s it’s like a breath of fresh air after burning dinner I needed food in a rush having an awful day I was greeted with such beautiful young faces Full of joy a young lady with a soft voice Karma with a beautiful smile took my order and talk to me about my bad day as coworker Isaac prepare my pizza and try to make me smile and laugh I realize this young group of kids really had the right idea life is just too short thank you guys for making my day!!!!“
“We've heard about this place for years but never made our way there, until last night. We went with our neighbors, party of 8. We got there around 5:45 and had no problem finding a seat. This place is a great "dive bar/restaurant". It's decor is nothing special, but that's part of what makes it so comfortable. The restaurant is on one side, bar through the doorway on the other side. Not overly big. I imagine there would be a wait during breakfast hours. Erin was our server, and she was awesome. Very pleasant with a great sense of humor. Service was fast. She was all over refilling our drinks. Food was very good. Hash browns were amazing. The pizza was a great surprise. Wings are not on the menu, but ask if they have them. We had them last night and they were awesome. Smoked and then flash fried. Juicy, great crunch. Very tasty. Prices are very reasonable, portions are big. We were very impressed. This is comfort food all the way. Beer was cheap. Easy 5 stars for me. This is my kind of place.“
