“This place doesn't just have full bar + amazing pizza, it has actual soul! There's a personality about it that shines through in the friendly service and the overall ambiance and retro vibe. Stopped in for a late lunch with a friend. Everything on the menu sounded great of course but we went with the recommend hand battered fried mushrooms. Clearly not a frozen product and it was absolutely made from scratch. The batter was light and crispy. Came with ranch to dip. Huge portion and the two of us didn't come close to finishing because we needed to save room for pizza. We opted for the small "White Lightening". Thin buttery crust, pesto sauce, ricotta cheese, Italian sausage and artichoke hearts. If this was a small, I can't imagine the size of the medium and large. Great place to bring a crowd! Lively atmosphere with retro biker, vinyl, and rocker memorabilia.“
“Eatry A has great happy hour specials on their pizza. I have been down there many times for that. We went just past the dinner rush time on a sat. We were able to get seated right away. We ordered a pizza and the burshetta. I had never had the burshetta before it was great. The pizza was good. It's not the best I had had there. It was a little "toastier" on the edges that I prefer, but it was still good.“
“Not a ton of food pics this morning but everyone enjoyed for skillets to Burrito Royale and Eggs Benedict pizza.Breakfast tacos were great as well as regular Eggs Benedict.I've had the biscuits and gravy pizza here multiple times as well.Dessert was the end game... we took 7 orders to our table of Strawberry Cheesecake rolls. Thx Bobbi Jo!So it was only -10° this morning but warm inside!“
“This place has some amazing, creative, and delicious food! Their brussel sprouts are to-die-for! But I've never had anything there that didn't explode in my mouth with flavor. Their new location has so much more space than the old location.“
“Food was great. Got a family size half cowboy pizza with added green onion and half murphy special. Brought home and cooked immediately. Followed instructions on the sheet folded into the plastic on the pizza. Crust was great and crispy, toppings were fresh and there was plenty of cheese. Staff was kind and patient when asked questions about their menu. Store was clean and well maintained. Great experience.Wheelchair accessibility: Store is wheelchair accessible“
“Miss Fazolis, the one in Waterloo closed years ago and no one has tried to bring one back. The food was just as good as I remember it. The chicken Alfredo was delicious, just needs a bit more chicken ?.There was at times a smell, like a sewer smell, other than that it was 4 star good, no smell, 5 stars.“
“Went on Wednesday for the pizza special, buy a large specialty and get a medium two topping free! Service was fast, friendly, and interactive. Drinks were refilled in a timely, friendly m manner. Pizza is a thin cracker crust, toppings were just the right amount!“
“Atmosphere is great, went to there one year anniversary the other night and was great. Tried the wings with the striking sparrow sauce and did not disappoint, wings came out crispy and perfect, plus the patio is good and good for a summer hangout with outside games.“
“I was looking for a restaurant that wasn't in West Des Moines or Downtown Des Moines to celebrate my wife's birthday... just something different. We were blown away by the service, the environment, the food, and the overall vibe. The place is just fantastic, and we plan to return often.“
“I came in from St. Louis for work tried this pizza place down the street from my hotel and they did not disappoint I’m not sure who made my slice but that guy was a true pizza connoisseur it had the right amount of crunchy and overloaded with toppings that pieces fell off the slice making the perfect little snack 10/10 would definitely recommend and going back for another later best discovery since I came to des monies the pizza speaks for itself a must try“
“The lobby was clean and the guy who took our order was super friendly. He looked like he was busting his butt running the front and the lobby. The food was awesome and the mozzarella balls are probably a new weakness for me.Kid-friendliness: I loved their coloring table to have kids color and decorate the lobby. Very cute idea and it kept my daughter busy while she wasn't eating.“
“I have been wanting to try Sonny's Bistro for a while now and we finally went. The service and food was absolutely great and I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a great place to eat with a nice Italian atmosphere. Our party of 6 loved every meal that was served especially the pizza.“
“Great place to bring your family and friends. Sit down and enjoy a big pizza! Customer service was great. The server was on the ball with our drinks and refills. The pizza was crispy and delicious. I would definitely stop back in for more. I recommend stopping in and trying their “
“A friend introduced me to South Union years ago and I was delighted by the quality of the food and the experience. The ingredients are fresh and the bread is awesome. The cafe is only open for lunch so it is way more convenient to eat here if you work downtown.Parking is either metered on the street or other paid parking. The atmosphere is interesting since the building is so old. It can get a little loud when they get busy. You do need to enter through the temple entrance instead of the street now. This is so the line to order can remain inside.Sandwiches are made to order and may take a while to make. They call the number on your receipt when it is ready.Coke is the fountain drink available.“
“Food was hot fresh and ready for pick up , was greeted with a smile and verified my order by showing me the contents in there containers . The store look clean and maintained inside and out .Parking: Easy access , well lighted , can be noticed from the street .“
“Small hole in the wall restaurant. At first look, you wouldn't think anything of it. Upon walking in, it's a smaller space but welcoming. And the bar tender was very prompt and helpful with ordering. They said 25 minutes for our large Crab Rangoon Pizza and cheesecake egg rolls. We walked around the neighborhood and returned 25 minutes later to our food coming right out the kitchen. Too bad this place is in Des Moines, we are from DFW and would love to eat here again. The pizza was just as good cold as it was hot.“
“Scorovacca's food is comforting. I don't go often but am never disappointed when I do go. Cavatelli with meat sauce was spot on and enough for 2 meals. My daughter's french dip looked wonderful and must have been as she finished it. My son's meatball sandwich looked very good.Service was on point.“
“A popular local favorite and surprisingly very busy for a Thursday evening. Can't go wrong with any menu item, but tried the walleye and sirloin tips. The walleye breading was light, crisp and complimented the flavor without overpowering it. The sirloin tips in homemade gravy over fresh noodles was beefy, creamy and filling. And recommend the onion/pepper rings!“
“One of the best happy hours in town- the spinach & artichoke dip is one of the best I’ve had and i love their Nashville hot pickle spears. Tonight, we had the Purdylicious- absolutely delicious and so innovative. They are always changing up their menu & trying new things.“
“I kinda hate to share about this place. Now all of you will go there and I won't get a table. ?The Sunday smashburger on an apple fritter is-to-die for. The only thing that could make it better would be a side of coleslaw, so I could put it on the burger ?Spicy Virgin Bloody Mary was ?Two friends had Biscuits and Gravy and both said it was really good. The pancakes were big and fluffy.“
“Love music bingo night (free to play and cash prizes for each round), and the waitress we normally have. It’s nothing fancy, but everyone is friendly and their apps and sandwiches are really tasty. Haven’t had one we don’t like. My husband and I both like their pasta salad, really creamy.“
“If you’re from the DC area, pizza reminds me of Lido’s, with a slightly sweet red sauce. Not South Philly pizza (which I love) but was tasty (and I’m picky about pizza) and I’d go back again. Very friendly service. I recommend the home-made iced tea as well.“
“Dave can be grouchy some days but keeps a friendly staff so we keep showing up and letting them feed us.. haha just kidding. They are all great and we love 'em. Keep doing what you're doing! Definitely recommend our friends too stop in for a bite to eat, a cold drink and a few laughs. ? And you really need to go get a taco if you ain't had them!!“
“The pizza was pretty good. We had deep dish sausage. I loved the crust! The sauce was a bit in the acidic side for me.The service was really good! The atmosphere was fine, but it the front has a weird office when you walk in. The parking isn’t very clear - hobby lobby lot vs street parking off to the side. They could improve by getting more comfortable chairs, repainting (especially in the event room) and hiding TV cords. It was very nice that they let us use that back room for a small group & we overall had a nice experience.Parking: The parking is awkward and not clear. Some parked in the hobby lobby lot and others parked parallel along the side street, which doesn’t have spaces or signage. We weren’t sure if this was allowed.“
“We started going to Michael’s during the pandemic, and made it a weekly pick up. I love their sweet and salty pizza but I tried the pizza blanco today and it was incredible. It had really high quality ingredients. Their ranch is the best ranch I’ve ever had, and the onion rings are thin and crispy and addicting. It’s also really nice to be able to get specialty pizzas in the personal size. Our whole family has very different pizza taste, and that makes everyone happy.“
“If you delivering here make sure you come to Dixon st at the light then Thompson Ave the short cut on the GPS is telling you to go there but they got it blocked off with big Boulders so it's small when you get here park along side the dropped trailers then walk to the end of the building there's a door there ,they got a Porta potty for restroom and not sure about overnight parking like I said it's small“
“Ordered the "Everything Potato" off the SECRET MENU. Was the best potato I have ever had, compliments to the head chef ;)You should ask for it with the phrase, "Can I have the everything potato just like King Julian like it."Parking: Parking lot is a 10/10. I shoveled it everyday before I clocked in just to make sure I didn't get paid for it :)“
“Me and my daughter had a beautiful day we went on a scavenger hunt and I let her know that the prize would be us going out for pizza I really enjoy Northern lights Pizza and also the breadsticks I'm happy that Northern lights was part of the fantastic day we both shared thank youVegetarian options: I enjoyed the pizza with green peppers banana peppers and mushrooms it'd be even more excellent if there was some vegan chorizo or some plant-based beef the overall I love the pizza“
“I’ve only ordered this pizza twice. I’ve ordered pizza and breadsticks both times. So far consistent, and out of the ball park every time. The restaurant is ran like a NY or NJ pizzeria, and it’s beautifully done in Iowa. I only order for carry-out, because I don’t live in Des Moines. After the first time ordering, I knew my kids would love this quality of pizza, and I was wrong. My kids fell in love with this pizza immediately. All the big pizza chains and Casey’s has a unique nice thing about a part of their pizza experience, but Paul Revere has the whole shabang! All of my kids said they don’t want pizza from anywhere else. I agree, I love the small town atmosphere, they’re not super personal, they put you on hold every time you call, and they’re always busting their behinds in there when I’ve been there. Trust me, you’ll never order pizza from the other places ever again. Just do it!(I’ll post more pics of slices next time)“
“Food was as expected. The internet was down or something so they were having a little trouble getting orders in.. Not sure why but i had cash so wasn't too bad. Normal 5-7 minute wait..Parking: Parking is usually open right in front of the store whenever I go there...“
“Came into town for work and was recommended this place by a few locals. Huge meatball sub fan so it was a must try! Although I’m a difficult person when it comes to ordering because I like what I like. The server, I believe her name was Tara. Was extremely patient and made sure it was made exactly how I asked. Will for sure make sure this is my first stop next time in town.“
“I have been a loyal domino's customer since I was just 16 years old and lived in an apartment downtown and domino's was just around the corner. I would save my money through the week so I could get a deep dish cheese pizza on Saturday night. Always been my favorite pizza joint!“
“Chuck's is a neighborhood institution with decent American/Italian food served in a welcoming and homely atmosphere. If you're a pretentious suburbanite, you won't like it, sorry. Stick with one of those chain restaurants near your subdivision.“
“My boyfriend and I ordered pizza through the Pizza Hut online app with my saved address information that matched what Pizza Hut had on file for my order, DoorDash picked up our order but didn't deliver. Claiming that we provided the wrong address. After almost an hour and a half of waiting and trying to sort it out with the Dasher, The dasher canceled our order. We decided to call Pizza Hut but there wasn't much they could do since it was more of a "DoorDash problem" BUT Jamie The store manager of this location went above and beyond for us. They had already turned their ovens off and they still decided to come through and make our pizza and have it delivered in 10 minutes“
“A unique late night Des Moines tradition. Know for their late night pizza by the slice. One of the first in the area to offer unique pizza topping. Whole pizza's available - but to order earlier in the evening. It is known to be a busy place late.“
“I went here for my Father's birthday. I had the server XTina. She is wonderful, warm and explained the dishes to us. The food was delicious. The dessert chocolate molten cake for me, Tiramisu for my Dad. Peach was helpful when I needed something as my server got just a littke bit busy and she was able to jump in and help out with something minor. Those 2 ladies are amazing. You really feel a family atmosphere there. 10 thumbs up!! I'll definitely be a regular customer!! - Aleza Nichelle“
“We got there early to be in one of the first groups to be seated. A waitress walked dow the line of people standing in line waiting to ask if anyone wanted anything to drink. The owner greeted us as we walked in and also talked to the people who were still waiting outside. I had the stuffed chicken over pasta and I was not disappointed. The chicken was flavorful and the mix of marinara and Alfredo was delicious. The red velvet cake was a delightful treat as well! We will definitely be going back again!“
