“First time there, I had the burger with Guda and bacon, Bacon was thick and caramelized, Burger was cooked exactly as I asked for it. Stake fries were alot thinner and a stake fry and crispy. Wife had the loaded nachos with Chicken, she was very impressed.. We will be back!“

“I was there with co-workers and the food is wonderful. I loved every bite. The plating for each dish was full of color and looked like art. I had the Empanadas, my first time, and each bite was savory and full of flavor. I also had the Bistek Lo Pobre and it had such umami and full of flavor. My favorite was the Dessert. I had Mazamorra Morada and I fell in love. I also got a cheesecake - better then New York Cheesecake. Best Meal ever. I am definitely going back. Our server was the best. She was so kind and funny. Maybe it's a post COVID nostalgia for the old days of a well staffed restaurant, but it's been a long time since we've had every need proactively taken care of and plate settings artfully whisked away without thought. “Cozy little place in West Des Moines. Was down from the Twin Cities for some other business and needed a quick lunch. The junction chicken was delicious and the sweet potato fries were some of the best I've ever had. It's a small place and seating is somewhat close together. Service was a bit slow but very friendly and welcoming. I would stop again if I'm in the area.“

“Fun dive bar deep into Waukee. Live music on Fridays and Saturdays, a few TVs to catch a game, darts, pool and cheap drinks. It gets really busy but the staff does a great job trying to keep the drinks flowing! They do fun events like psychics, bingo and other things every once and awhile as well. Highly recommend.“

“I am an activity director for a local memory care, and to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, we tried Finn's Pub. They were MORE THAN accomodating! We visited on a Thursday afternoon, and that coming Saturday and Sunday, the owners were making Corned Beef and Cabbage. When they knew we were coming, they whipped up a special batch just for us! It was so kind! The residents loved the drinks, the food, and the atmosphere. Thank you so much for hosting us!“

“Well I haven't been here in over 20 years but it hasn't changed one single bit. The dogs are still playing cards and pool on the walls and the booths are the same just a whole lot more worn. Actually the booth had a huge hole in the seat that you could see clear to the floor. The seating was missing tiles and you could see large holes in the ceiling too. It really didn't bother me because you expect this here...it was however the first time I have ever been here with the lights turned up. It definitely needs to have the light on much lower... The only other thing is the back door you have to enter from since the city removed most of the parking. It is so dangerous. The concrete is deteriorating and broken and the steps are very scary. I suspect people fall back there regularly...But over all it brought back fond memories of times long ago!!!“

The bartender was super welcoming, and chatty, He even shook my hand at the end of my visit. He was very attentive to all 10 of us in the bar, all from different walks of life! I was super excited that a guy brought in and set up his daughters girl scout cookies to sell to patrons and yes next thing you know everyone in the bar is sharing a variety of Girl Scout Cookies! Law and Order SVU was on the Tv, William Shatner's Christmas album was on the touch tunes and I enjoyed a lazy Sunday afternoon with a cool crew of folks. The place is cool and has framed photos of famous people with Irish roots.. We ain't just talking Conan, Bono, and Van Morrison we are talking Hitchcock and Detective Benson from Law and Order SVU's mom Jayne Mansfield.. Who I happened to just look up on Wiki to make sure on the spelling of her name and I discovered that Jimi Hendrix played on her music she put out in the 60's... WOW all I can say..
