“Fun dive bar experience where I even met some new friends! However, there was one bartender who was extremely rude and had an attitude any time I tried to order a drink. Definitely soured the night. My girl friends also had the same experience. However, my husband didn't have any issue so just had him order the drinks.“

The ranch is top-notch, and what Iowan doesn't love ranch! They also create a few other delicious sauces, including their Uptown sauce that was perfect with the onion rings. My only critique would be that the burgers were a little more well done than I prefer which made them a touch dry. But great quality beef. Staff were attentive and explained all the specials and options. It is a typical bar and grill layout with tables as well as a large wrap around bar.“

We usually get our dinner to go because of convenience but today we came to dine in and it was such a wonderful experience from the warm greeting through the door, being seated promptly and the food coming out fast and fresh with very respectful, attentive and smooth service. “The whole experience from top to bottom is an absolute “SMASH”. The bar staff, and specifically Alyssa, are top shelf. She was fun, had a good knowledge of all the beers on tap, and was never too far when you needed a refill. I’d give em 10 stars if I could!“
“Fun dive bar deep into Waukee. Live music on Fridays and Saturdays, a few TVs to catch a game, darts, pool and cheap drinks. It gets really busy but the staff does a great job trying to keep the drinks flowing! They do fun events like psychics, bingo and other things every once and awhile as well. Highly recommend.“

If you love Iowa-style PORK TENDERLOIN SANDWICHES, you'll want to check their's out. The breading tastes correct, not like they used pepper-spiced fried chicken breading. Also, the oil is used primarily for tenderloins and fries so it doesn't have the undesirable subflavors imparted from onion rings or fish. And the food and beverages come at very reasonable prices!“
“I was greeted immediately upon walking in the door. That's a nice sign. She remains friendly the entire time. I had a drink within two minutes of walking in--they have a decent selection of crafts/locals versus domestics. I went with the Citrus Surfer the first time and availed myself of their Bloody Mary the second time. The contents include a pickle spear, olives, and a strip of bacon. I believe they used zing zang for the mix.Kinda sticky inside and a somewhat depressing atmosphere. Also an oddity occurred--a glass mysteriously fell off a nearby table with no one sitting there and it crashed to the floor.I did not partake in the food this time; I did upload their menu as of August 2023.“

“Average bar with room for 20 or so at bar , tv for ball games easy to see. Barmaid was pleasant. Was there on Sat at 4 pm for fundraising event for Dog rescue company. Didn't order anything to eat since they were walking around with fish , tater tots etc they were cooking out back. Didn't look out back but it looks like there's an area where you can go out there probably good for the summer months.“
“A week or so ago my family placed a large online order. My wife picked the order up and brought it home. When we got everything separated we realized some items were missing. Both my wife and I tried calling the restaurant several times due to living 20-plus minutes away but could only get a busy signal. My wife ended up going back to the restaurant. The young lady my wife spoke with was very apologetic about the entire situation and extremely kind. Despite having to go back for a couple of things, the young lady's handling of the situation and the food being great more than made up for everything. We will for sure return in the future.“

“Well I haven't been here in over 20 years but it hasn't changed one single bit. The dogs are still playing cards and pool on the walls and the booths are the same just a whole lot more worn. Actually the booth had a huge hole in the seat that you could see clear to the floor. The seating was missing tiles and you could see large holes in the ceiling too. It really didn't bother me because you expect this here...it was however the first time I have ever been here with the lights turned up. It definitely needs to have the light on much lower... The only other thing is the back door you have to enter from since the city removed most of the parking. It is so dangerous. The concrete is deteriorating and broken and the steps are very scary. I suspect people fall back there regularly...But over all it brought back fond memories of times long ago!!!“

“We had a hungry crew with us, 6 adults and 4 children. The waiter was patient with us and kept us up to date on how soon our order would make it to the grill. They have a small kitchen, but the cook creates big results from it. The food was fabulous!We had Burgers, chicken, patty melts, sausage, and every deep-fried veggie on the menu. My 4yo ate the 2nd half of his plain hamburger the next day and stated, "they did a good job of this." If that's not high praise, idk what is.“

“This is a fun little bar if you're headed to a concert at Val Air. It's full of regulars But we didn't feel judged as outsiders as we walked in. It's an old building with a dive bar feel But there are certain things that make it feel like someone really cares. For example the drinks like screwdrivers and greyhounds are made with fresh squeezed juice, the bartender rotates the glasses, and everyone has greeted as they walk in the door. The only downside is that it's a cash only bar and the ATM was down so we had to leave.“

Sausage and jalapeño breakfast pizza (I got 10"): loaded 10"or a large pizza crust with eggs, cheese, sausage, gravy and jalapenos was super good. I added more red chili flakes on top but that's personal preference. Flavor-wise it was good and was very very cheesy! Loaded potatoes: diced seasoned potatoes served with bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, toast (add 2 eggs on top, cheese, and gravy +$3. Coffee: it's from a Keurig not my personal favorite, I prefer a plain ol coffee pot cup of coffee myself. Definitely a small, fun place for breakfast that isn't overpriced, over-fancy, nor over-rated. Give it a go if you want a low-kee breakfast. -- eating breakfast at The Kee.“

“Update: After a year or so since the previous review, we finally went back. This time it was easy to get a table and we enjoyed delicious food. Everything tasted fantastic and full of flavor. The only real downside is it's a bit pricey for small portions, but you're getting quality food. I've updated my score accordingly. For us, this would not be a regular visit due to the price point, but it will be for special occasions.-------Stopped by tonight for dinner around 7:15pm. 30 minute wait or immediate service at the bar. We chose the bar but sat there for at least 15 minutes without ever being greeted or waited upon. Ended up walking out. We'll try again with reservations to see how it goes. I understand being understaffed, but it was poor service too.“
