“This place is the best. We are from Minneapolis and when we travel we ALWAYS stop here.The flavors are super fresh. There is no strange after taste or muddy flavors. I recommend this place to everyone.I try a new item each time. I have never been disappointed.Good sized portions. Many items can be shared.Regarding spices: mild is medium, medium or hot, hot is blazing. Sometimes we discuss it more so we get the levels set.The staff are very accommodating.This is located in a newer multi-tenant building. It is super clean and nicely decorated. They have a sizeable bar room with a couple of large screen TVs (in case you want to ignore your dinner companions).Vegetarian options: This place defines most items as vegetarian or vegan (no special notes) and you add meat or tofu as you wish. I get the fried tofu. It is soft and delicious. I can't say if all sauces are vegan, you need to ask that.I lived as a vegan for 18 months. This place was never an issue for me.Dietary restrictions: See vegetarian optionsParking: Parking surrounds the building. We have never had an issue for dinner. Except the year kids crashed the place for prom.“
“The food was amazing! Great sushi and the seafood noodle dish was awesome. The dynamite shrimp appetizer was great too. Our server, Ron, was very friendly and attentive and fun.The only critique would be the music was really loud techno music that made conversation with my spouse challenging. “Arrived at 4:30, ordered a beer and a Moscow mule, they came very quickly, ordered our food and within 5 minutes it was on the table, hot and ready to eat. We had the full lobster boil meal. Decided to try the key lime pie for dessert and it was incredible. The entire experience from beginning to end was great. This was the University location.“

“JUST got done eating there, 1st which I didn't want to cause a fuss, my steak was well done NOT medium rare like I ordered and I asked to split the shrimp and steak like have the half order of steak and half order of shrimp and our server said, "Sure no problem" well got the check and was charged an extra 4 bucks and when asked about it our server said, " I asked my manager and they said we couldn't do that" well that would have been nice to know, horrible service!“

“My sister recommended I try the bento box. It was really delicious and was a big portion of food. I had pleasant interactions with multiple servers, which made it a good experience. Our table split a bottle of the white peach sake, super delicious as well. Looking forward to coming again and trying out a specialty roll and some more sake. “The sushi was fresh and very flavorful. A great variety of rolls, both raw and cooked. I felt the menu was great to categorize the spice levels of the rolls. Restaurant was clean and our server was attentive. Definitely worth a visit. We will be back again.“
“Great food, great sake, great service. I was only in town for a few days, but Mandarin Grill was good enough that I ordered twice (once as dine in, once to go). My server (I'm forgetting her name, maybe Rebecca?) was friendly, knowledgeable, and chatty. She made sure I knew exactly what I was getting, and that I was happy with everything. The miso soup was delicious, and I really liked the yushang eggplant as well. My only very minor complaint is that the egg roll was greasy. The taste and texture were very good, but it was almost like it didn't get drained after being pulled from the fryer. Aside from that, everything was terrific. I look forward to visiting again next time I'm in Des Moines.“

“The absolute best Japanese food in central Iowa. We go here every 6 weeks and we've never had a bad experience. We've tried most items on the menu and it's hard to decide because every meal is great. Our very picky kids even love the food here. There is Japanese soda in fruity flavors and they've tried every flavor. When our kids have colds they ask us to get Mizu's miso soup to bring home. It's a family favorite!Kid-friendliness: The kids' menu has a plate with a lot of delicious options: hibachi veggies, chicken (delicious!), noodles, and rice. Whatever mood your kid is in, they'll leave filled.“

“Went twice during my visit to WDM. The seaweed salad was fantastic. The spicy chicken ramen was good, but the toppings were the best part. I found the pork soup base to be a bit on the bland side, but overall a pretty good dish, and the portion size was huge. I got the spicy crunch crab roll and mountain roll on my second visit, and they were both delicious. The pickled ginger was very fresh as well. I will definitely be stopping by the next time I'm in the area.“

“Love this place. The food is top notch and It’s reasonably priced. In an area of BBQ and Americana, this is a nice break for some variety. We got several sushi rolls as well as some noodle bowls. Just so tasty. My only critiques are the service was a little longer than expected (worth it) and most rolls were just slight variations of California rolls or had mango. So not a lot of variety, but I didn’t care as they were all so good. The owner even noticed I had an Utah area code and connected over it. Great place!“
