“A romantic setting with great food, setting and ambiance. At Mandarin Spice you are greeted at the front door by a life sized Chinese Terracotta soldier statue. The restaurant is decorated throughout with similar impressive decorations. The food is superb. They offer dishes from throughout the Orient, including Japanese, Chinese, Singapore, Korea, etc. These include a long list of sushi, fried rice, noodles, soups, salads and other specialty dishes, like pad Thai and Korean Barbeque. In my opinion, the sushi is the best in Cedar Rapids, including raw, cooked and vegetarian rolls. If you like cooked sushi, check out the Monster Roll. It has tempura shrimp, cream cheese and crab. They're delicious. The appetizer combo is really good, too. It includes firecracker shrimp, egg rolls and cheese ragoons. They also, in my opinion, have the best fried rice dishes in town. They taste a lot like hibachi grill food. All of their dishes look and taste like they were cooked and plated by an expert chef. Also, Monday through Wednesday, they have half price sushi night.“
“It's not the shiniest of places but the food is, well, golden haha!! I love it! I haven't tried the buffet so I can't speak as to what that's like, I usually order ahead and my food has always been perfect and delicious. I don't really stray from my favorites, sweet orange chicken (they actuallyonly have spicy orange chicken on their menu, but always take care of me and make it without any of the spiciness), sesame chicken, and my all-time favorite, pork fried rice, which I can't find anywhere else. Not that I'd want to. The location is great for us, it's about three minutes away and so easy to order ahead and pick up and then we have an amazing lunch or dinner. Even my four-year-old daughter loves it. When we drive up she starts yelling "rice! rice! rice! rice!" I've never received a bad order, not once. I am so glad that they're there! /“
“This is the best Chinese restaurant I've found in the area!! Don't let the unassuming location in a small strip mall fool you. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's what's on the inside that counts! Many menu choices offer "typical Chinese" options that are beyond tasty. HUGE portions! Friendly and fast service. Clean interior. Egg rolls, General Tso chicken and Chicago fried rice are my favorites so far. The prices seem high, but you'll be walking away with a ton of leftovers so it all evens out. They offer dine in and take out.“
“This, by far, is the best Chinese food I have ever had. The food came out piping hot, it's was fresh the portion size for the price was spot on. Their egg rolls, fried won tons, dumplings, apperziers are the best in town. The main dishes are very filling, and they came out very hot, temperature hot, and simply delicious. The Chinese donuts melt in your mouth, and if you want a great dessert, i encourage you to visit them to encounter this little piece of heaven. The pictures don't give their food any justice. If you don't know what you want for dinner, go to Panda Lin for a great dining experience.“
“I've frequented this restaurant with many people over the years, and also gone by myself multiple times and every time they have remembered my order! Very personable staff, I stuck with them through COVID although they had a rough patch with staff asking if you planned on tipping before ordering anything but service has improved a lot since then and so had business. I would highly recommend, as they only continue to grow as a restaurant!!“
“Favorite spot in town for Chinese food, try the Honey Chicken or the Lemon Chicken if you've never had it. It's sweet and savory. Otherwise, your favorite dishes are all going to be solid picks because this dude is a beast in the kitchen.“
“Even though we came at the busiest time, our waiter was calm and collected and went above and beyond. Wasn't too pushy and was on point with refills and the dirty plates. The cooks were phenomenal. I don't think they even caught a two minute break from the grill and they kept up like a boss. The 4 star atmosphere was mainly because it was packed busy and kinda loud but overall 12/10“
“First time here. Service was quick and staff was very friendly. Eggrolls, fried rice, and chicken and broccoli were delicious. It’s a smaller place but it reminds me of the mom and pop restaurants at home that my family and I use to frequent. My husband and I enjoyed it!“
“We've been eating at one location or another for 30 years. This isn't fancy Chinese food. It is casual everyday kind of food. I don't think the dishes have changed since they opened. What that gives us, is consistent flavors and expectations met. Even when what you wanted today was just egg-rolls and hour and sour soup.“
“Great food and really nice wait staff. The times I went it wasn’t super busy so it was quite quiet. The food is a little expensive but you go SO MUCH! Especially with a dinner or lunch special. Absolutely love this place and would recommend if your looking for some good Chinese “
“This is my favorite place to get Chinese food(likewise at Marion location). Their prices are reasonable. Servings are big enough that Always make 2 meals out of it. The lady that works there doesn't understand what you want all the time. I point it out on menu. I always check before I leave to make sure the order is right. If it's not, they fixed it no problem. The guy and the young lady are very nice. Dine in area needs a lot of work. Overall it's a great place to get food.“
“China king in Marion has the best Americanized chinese food, & customer service I’ve ever had. I love to see this local restaurant continue to grow and it’s worth the wait of getting your food cooked fresh!Vegetarian options: They offer a wide range of vegetarian options as well as vegan optionsParking: The parking lot is easy to get to and has three access pointsKid-friendliness: They have sweet and sour and plain rice“
