“The food was amazing took my parents there when they were in town. Yet another restaurant that makes everything from scratch. Service was top notch. The restaurant participates in team service so you never really want for anything. The atmosphere was above and beyond. Super cool architecture. Really awesome space to dine and spend time with your friends and family. We noticed that they offer a brunch menu on the weekends. This place knows what they're doing!!“

“Jack Timble is always in great spirits at Roxxy and he always is quick to bring me my Tequila Sodas. Top of the line service! Whenever the bar is busy he will make sure to let you know he sees you and is going to serve you once he finishes serving the person he is with.“

“Love this place! You can bring your own food in and play board games with your friends! Bartenders are very knowledgeable. They have a wide variety of high-end and low-end liquor! It's definitely a spot you should try! I recommend the Pom Smoked Manhattan! Great for date night!“
“What a fun upbeat place. The decor is unique and a very spacious area. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. They do not serve food but you can bring your own snacks and food in. Fun cute space. The only downfall I see is the parking is difficult.“

“Menu is limited due to it being vegan but there is something good for anyone as long as they are not meat-needy. Lunch and dinner menus are totally different which adds options as long as you go at different times. Weekly specials to keep some nice variety if you frequent the joint. Drinks are excellent, good beer selection. Only complaint is that they won't seat you near closing time (I get it, staff wants to go home).Vegetarian options: VEGAN!Parking: May need to drive around a bit to find parking.“

“This place has been a staple in the iowa city area as long as I can remember. It's the kind of bar where, if you're local you'll know someone there. Juke box, pool, arcade games. The staff is always friendly and fast. Always a good time!Kid-friendliness: Tables and a kids menu“

“When I was pregnant with our first child in 1967, I would wake my husband James up in the middle of the night. He was a grad student at Iowa at the time. He would walk all the way from our house at 16 W. Bloomington to the Mill Restaurant to buy me one of their delicious grilled egg sandwiches. I know there was quite an array of them. That's when I knew I had married a true gem. He passed the "Mill Test." Walking to get an order at 2 in the morning. "A" for James and "A" for The Mill!“

“Amazing fun place! We had our first date at a Double Tap in Cedar Falls, IA so of course on August 16th 2022 when we got married we had to have our reception at the Double Tap in our local Iowa City, IA. Super fun drinks, great games, great pizza and super fun bartenders. Best first date and even better wedding!!!“

“Ben & Maddie took care of us. Our party had a flight of espresso martinis and each one got better. I recommend the Caramel Espresso Martini, it’s the best i’ve had so far.I think i can feel my heart fluttering and that might be strictly from their personality and hospitality.it’s the granite counter tops.“

“Classic dishes with creative twists. The service was friendly, efficient, and they ALL worked together as a team to make our dining experience enjoyable.Had a vegan friendly dinner meal but no vegan dessert option.Note: I recommend that you add a warning notice that the Princes Hot Chili Chicken Sandwich has Szechuan chilies that will make your tongue go numb. Delicious!“

“This place is a staple for me. Huge tap selection and great menu selection. Great place for a group that can't decide on a specific restaurant. Good for meal or just drinks. They have a decent amount of tvs too in case you need to watch the game.“

“I’m always looking for a review that actually tells you something. Not just, food was good! Polite staff… you know what I mean…. So, here we go.We were greeted when we walked in the door! Wow! Friendly and very attentive staff. They have a good selection of beer on tap including IPA’s. Nice and cold in a chilled true pint. Bravo! We ordered the “All you can eat shrimp” and Tenderloin. The shrimp is butterflied and nicely breaded. Comes with fries and coleslaw. I try to stay away from fried food, but I was pleasantly surprised. Not greasy at all. The shrimp was perfect. Flavor, texture and presentation. They serve in tin pie plates, which I found as a nice change from the typical plastic baskets with a paper liner beneath. My husband ordered the tenderloin. In his opinion, the best he’s had anywhere (with the exception of my own hand breaded pork loin)… The service was exceptional. Skylar was prompt in seeing that our drinks were filled and the shrimp kept a coming. We left, comfortably full. And not to forget…Karaoke every other Friday with Mike! And he starts up at 7pm. We will definitely go back. Odie’s is easy to find and only about 10-15 minutes from Cedar Rapids.Parking: There is parking right in front on both sides of the street. Pretty much like any small town bar and grill.“
“A rare find of a non-college bar in a college town. Very laid back atmosphere, patronage is on average of an older age than neighboring bars (late 20s - mid 30s), primarily white working and middle class. Pinball machines and pool available and fairly priced. Bathroom is good. Drinks are fairly priced for the area, although nothing's a steal. A few employees have been there forever, but some portion of positions have high turnover, resulting from their policy to give people a chance. They do charge for non-alcoholic beverages. This location cards.“
“Love this place, awesome place to come de-stress with your friends and have a few beers. They have party rooms, shuffle board, darts, an arcade, all alongside the main attraction of axe throwing. This location has a bunch of pretty cool staff members ready to help you learn the ropes. Would definitely recommend.“

“Highly recommend! Our first visit today was spot on! Excellent service, delicious food, and a fun atmosphere! We tried the cheesesteak, the chicken bacon wrap, the cheeseburger, and the chicken tenders. All perfectly cooked! Beer battered onion rings…yumm! And those tots! Check out the homemade chips and Deans French onion dip app, classic! All very reasonably priced and they offer a military discount too. 5 stars!“

“You hambergers are great! You can get ANUTHING here. (As long as it is a hamberger.) Oh the hot nuts(cashews) are great too. The beer and other libations are COLD. The service is warm, fast and friendly. I will get some photos next time. They have old time moving-water beer signs.“

“Had a NY Strip steak with broccoli and cheese mashed potatoes. The steak was pretty mediocre, tough and not seasoned at all even at medium rare, which it was cooked well. Not a great cut of a steak it seems, disappointing considering the $32 asking price. Veggie and potatoes were all great, broccoli was perfectly cooked but the potatoes were the star.Staff is great, friendly, receptive and made you feel welcomed. Overall enjoy the look and feel of the place.“

“I've been to Hudson's many times as it's on the way home but it not been here and probably almost a year. It was Friday afternoon but the place seemed more lively and upbeat. The menu is fairly expansive with quite a few options, some of them outside the normal fare. The prices had gone up a bit but the food was really quite good, I had the meatloaf sandwich and my wife had a salad that was much better than a far more expensive place a few nights earlier. The beer prices seem quite high to me, but I haven't been out drinking in quite a while. they do have an outdoor patio in the summer that borders a fairly quiet street, it is a great place to grab an afternoon sandwich. They have a huge diverse burger selection, as well as a good Reuben and Breaded PorkTenderloin, alll served with pretty good portions of Good fries!Several steps above fast food for a couple bucks more, definitely worth it“
“Fun laid-back bar with a feel of being at your neighbors house. You can walk in here and never feel out of place. You will always find someo e to chit chat with. The bartenders are awesome! Friendly service that makes you want to come back. Oh and did I mention they have CLEAN bathrooms...“
“I love this place. It is the true definition of a "Tap". If you're being loud and obnoxious the bartender will tell you to shut up and drink your beer. Truly reflects the people of Swisher. Hard working good people. You don't drive into Swisher like you're in Las Vegas. Blinded with bright lights that blind you. Black Squirrel and surrounding businesses in Swisher reflect the people. Not a want to be North Liberty.“

“My girlfriend and I love this place. Hole in the wall dive bar with darts and a pool table and decent beer selection. It's becoming a little more known to the college crowd but other than that it's always a good time. Bartenders are the best and that's what keeps us coming back every week. The two regular bartenders are our favorites in Iowa city. As long as you're respectful they treat their patrons well“

“Jessica at G&G is the best! I’ve never had a bad experience or not liked my nails after going to her or anyone at the salon. The new coralville location is beautiful too! If you’re looking for a place to get your nails done check them out! Forever my go to place“
“My hometown Aerie! And, I'm still a member and will be for decades to come, even though I live 5 states away. My dad has been the past Worthy President half a dozen times over the years, and my mom has been Madam Auxilliary prez almost as many. My older brother and I grew up in this building. There is always something going on. The last food special evening was a surf & turf night. Our group got some nice ribeyes, and I went for the shrimp skewers. Is it haute cuisine? Absolutely not, but it sure is midwest hearty. Whatever Eagles club my Hubby and I visit around this country, we flash our #695 cards to get in. I love this place.“
“My Great Uncle Dave's place. It has one pool table, half a bathroom, and an old school jukebox with Portishead on it. Kurt Vonnegut loved it, and for a long time it was the Writer's Workshop designated hangout. One of the oldest gay-owned businesses in a town with deep LGBT roots“
“My wife and I spent three weeks in Dublin and this is the best bar outside of Ireland. It's cash only so remember to bring some cash. The Guinness is cold and the atmosphere is great. Highly recommend coming here whenever you are in Iowa City.“

“This is great food. You'd expect less from a grocery store grille but they're always made well and tasty options. And the weekend breakfast special made it affordable!Kid-friendliness: Definitely a good environment for taking kids out to eat. Doesn't feel like a stuffy restaurant.Parking: Typical, large grocery store parking lot.“
“One of the most fun laid back places around the area. The bartenders are awesome and a lot of fun to interact with. The food is delicious and Karaoke rocks the house on Friday Nights. The Legion is also a good place to catch a football or baseball game. I would highly recommend this place to any group of people.“

“We tried it after seeing mixed reviews online about service and quality of food. The food was actually better than expected. I got the Truffle Mac and Cheese pizza and it was a hit and filling. Everything turned out as we hoped and the service for takeout was very kind. Seems like the bar has plenty of space and activities to keep yourself busy. Would recommend and be back when we are in the area.“
“My daughter's wedding venue was held there. From the rehearsal dinner, reception and brunch the next morning there was not one complaint. The food was outstanding. The rooftop is a beautiful setting. I highly recommend the Heights Rooftop for any reception. I hear that they are also going to start catering for outside events.“

“We rented a pontoon boat for the day, and they were really great in orienting to the boat and the lake. They let us load the boat before putting the boat in the water. We called when we were about 15 minutes away, and they were there to get the boat. They let us dock and get our stuff out before they loaded the boat to return it to the lodge. They told us to just leave the trash, and they would clean it up. It made for an easy trip with minimal effort. Gas was included.“
