“Visited on high recommendation of a friend. We were impressed by the exceptional food, value, atmosphere and service. Our group tried several items on the menu and thoroughly enjoyed everything. It may have an unassuming appearance from the street, but step inside and be delighted! Calm, attractive dining space. Menu is very diverse, offering loads of options and VERY reasonably priced, especially for the huge portions! Fresh bright flavors and lovely presentation. We live in the Crandic corridor and consider this one of our favorite restaurants in the Iowa City/Cedar Rapids area. Just a joy to dine here.”

“The food is amazing, anything you get will be great. Drinks are also awesome. The waiting staff is wonderful and I have never had a problem with anyone there in the probably 100 times I've been there. Clean and tidy restaurant, selection of tvs with different things playing. During Covid they had the best system that I witnessed during the pandemic when all things closed and I picked up food for my family close to once a week during that. This is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant, and you know that means something with how many we have”

“I had the regular burger served on a brioche bun, homemade pickles and a special sauce. It was delicious. The French fries are the best I've had, with a crisp seasoned coating, I'm not a fry person, but loved these. Great atmosphere.”

“This pizza was amazing!! Happened to fall into this place one Sunday night and could not be happier that we did.The pizza was soo good. Brick oven pizza so it was cooked with a light char on the crust. Thin in the right places and the crust was thicker. The dough was so good. The menu was not too confusing and easy to look at.We will definitely be back and we're definitely bringing our family and friends.1000% recommend giving this guy a shot.Great job!”

“What took us so long to try this place! Amazing fresh & delicious. We had the Caesar salad, Ortaggio pizza with pancetta, and the Cannelloni. Loved everything and so much food! Took home left overs. Can’t wait to go back. Other menu items we want to try. Ellen was a great waitress.”

Some people are just picky and there’s always going to be people saying they don’t like the food here but I can promise you it is the best of best everything tends to be so fresh! Waiters are both very nice and helpful, I really hope this place stays here I always hear wonders about this place! They also have new patio lights that are just so cute!”

“Great little pub we stopped at for lunch, great food and great service. We had a tenderloin, a Ruben and a classic burger. Love the crinkle cut fries. A different lunch special everyday. Check them out sometime.”

“If smoothie making is an art, Smash could teach a master class. Their smoothies are as close to homemade as I’ve found in the corridor. My mom is not a smoothie person, but last time she visited, we stopped by Smash. Surprisingly, my mom really enjoyed the smoothie. She was pleasantly surprised it was not ice cold, not super sweet, and was quite filling. I noticed my mom and I had more energy that afternoon. Smash has a minimalistic atmosphere with cute houseplants (would love to see more plants) that is not warm, but welcoming.”

“I flew in from Alabama for my boyfriend's fraternity formal and this is where we all had dinner. I had a great experience here and could not have picked a better place for the event! The food was fantastic and all of the servers did such a great job the whole night by providing our group with excellent service. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also great and was located right by the river so we could take some nice pictures there. I would highly recommend Tin Roost to anyone for an event or even just for dinner. I will definitely be back the next time I am in town!”
