“Just OMG...... the beer selection. Best I've seen in the area since moving to Iowa City a year or so ago. If you like 2x and 3x IPAs, well, here you go. They have Black State and plenty of others that rival NorCal, SoCal, Chicago, Oregon and other. You're paying for it, (up to $8 a can), but you only live once.“
“Unfortunately, I went to eat there on Oct. 10 and the sign on the door said, "No Dine In". Darn!!Glad to see they're back open for dining in again. Nice tidy placed, locally owned. Nice price range and selection on the menu; lunch specials under 9 dollars I'll be eating here again, soon!“
“I haven't probably been here in about 12-13 years but daaaaaamn the food here is ???? seriously. This is actually the restaurant that opened up my tastes to Asian cuisine. I wish there were a location more local to me!!!Vegetarian options: They have a large selection of only vegetables to choose from that will fulfill your needs!!!“
“Wow, this food seriously exceeded my expectations. I had the Szechuan shrimp entree and the Takoyaki appetizer. The Szechuan is a cut above any other Chinese restaurants in town, owing to the higher-grade ingredients and perfect execution. First time trying takoyaki and I was really impressed - really a delicacy. If you haven't tried this place, disregard the dated, mixed reviews, and stop by!“
“The food and the service are excellent like a lot of foreign people though they really got freaked out by covid they stand behind a plastic divider and do carry out only I like it a lot better when I had sit down we don't go there as much as we used to for that reason“
“A small size restaurant inside the old capitol mall. The dining room seems to be a little outdated and chairs were a little wobbly, but not unbearable. On the wall near the cash register is what appears to be a 120 item chinese menu. There is also a full size English menu, but different items.I had the garlic chicken combo extra spicy. The food had great flavor and the heat level was surprisingly increased. This was a highlight of the meal already.Chicken was juicy and full of flavorThe vegetables in the dish were cooked well, not hard and crunchythe rice was cooked perfectly and not hard at allThe combo also includes a delicious egg roll!Side of crab Rangoons: nice and hot with a moderate size filling. Mainly cream cheese with hints of the crab.Complimentary hot tea and waterNice and quick service. I think I will try one of the items on the wall or the hot pot next time!“
“Food is delicious and the staff is the best. Only the second time there and they remembered us. Their was also a power outage that knocked out the entire street. They did great under pressure!!!! If you haven’t tried it you must. Even the 10 year old tries something new and loved it“
“Great little place for American-inspired Chinese food. You'll find all of the usual dishes here, plus a few more authentic ones posted inside but not on the menu. The shredded pork in garlic sauce is amazing. Can't recommend that one enough! This is our go-to Chinese take out in the area.“
“Great food at a good price. If you like General Tso’s Chicken, they have the best with a crispy breading. I also enjoy the Mongolian Beef without green onion (white onions only). Those are my typical go-to items I order when getting Chinese food and they have the best of both in my opinion. They do have a small area with a few tables if you want to dine in but don’t expect much from the atmosphere other than a sounds of a fast-paced kitchen. If it’s a sound that reminds you a good memory you may enjoy it. For me, I’m indifferent. They have always been quick to complete orders. We’ve ordered from these same people for over 25 years.“
“Very good! We ordered for delivery and it was at our door in a little under 25 minutes. Crab rangoons were great. Very good sesame chicken and sweet and sour chicken as well. All the essentials (soy sauce, chopsticks, forks) were in the bag as well!“
“Visited on high recommendation of a friend. We were impressed by the exceptional food, value, atmosphere and service. Our group tried several items on the menu and thoroughly enjoyed everything. It may have an unassuming appearance from the street, but step inside and be delighted! Calm, attractive dining space. Menu is very diverse, offering loads of options and VERY reasonably priced, especially for the huge portions! Fresh bright flavors and lovely presentation. We live in the Crandic corridor and consider this one of our favorite restaurants in the Iowa City/Cedar Rapids area. Just a joy to dine here.“
