4 Best Bakeries in Pella

“It's immensely popular; so much so that even in mid-afternoon, you could be in a 30 minute line to order and purchase Jaarsma's baked goods. And yet, people gladly accept that as part of the experience, because the wait is worth the reward. Jaarsma's breads are delicious (the Windmill Bread uses wheat ground at the mill 2 blocks over). Their coffee cakes are amazing. The Dutch Letters are delicious and don't sleep on their goat legs either! You couldn't go wrong with anything there, and that's why people line up and patiently wait to sample baking greatness.Also, you have to give credit to their staff, who at the time was 8 hours into a 12 hour day, with nonstop heavy traffic, and they're smiling, courteous and genuinely happy you're there. Sophia was outstanding in helping me with my order.“

“We were told to go here as there's a more popular bakery in town but they said the Dutch letters are their favorite here. It was Pella's holiday weekend so there was a lot of people. The line was long and I wish they had more than 2-3 people working behind the counter because the line went extremely slow. But I'm sure on a different weekend when there isn't so much action, it's probably faster. I love the vibe and I couldn't take as many pictures because there were so many people and I wanted to respect their privacy. I'm glad there's more competition in town for a great bakery. Both can succeed! Their decorated sugar cookies were amazing!!“
