“This place is so good!! Has many unique and delicious drink options. I got the Mexican chai latte with a shot of espresso and it was so good! Definitely coming back for matcha and other specialties. Parking is a little tricky, but does have free street parking. Also limited seating. Looks like a bright enjoyable environment to work in if your lucky enough to get a seat. All seating was full at 9 am on a Saturday when I arrived, so plan accordingly.“

“Phenomenal coffee. Had both of their single origin pour-overs, both excellent. Even stopped by a third time on my way to the airport. Love the glass reclamation project - glass is easily my preferred coffee vehicle so getting a glass jar to GO?? With a koozie to keep it warm? Perfect for a walk around the sculpture garden. “We visit here fairly often for breakfast/brunch and it's definitely the best breakfast place I've ever been to. Great mix of a modern, chic place but with the friendly staff and portion sizes of a mom & pop type restaurant. Food quality is also very good. A lot of the stuff clearly made in-house.“

Beyond that, I was very impressed by the customer service here; I sat inside for about an hour, just reading a book, and I saw that every incoming customer was greeted and welcomed into the shop like it was their home. “The place was buzzing and I was lucky to find an open table. The tables are inches apart from another so you can't be the claustrophobic type. I had just spent 30 minutes photographing outdoor sculptures at the DM Art Center and was chilled to the bone. Placed my order at the counter. Sat at my little round table waiting for my order about ten minutes. The sandwich and drink were brought to my table and both were fantastic! I didn't know an egg sandwich could taste so heavenly. The hot chocolate was served in a tall clear glass mug with a handle and topped with lot of whip cream. The temperature was perfect. Walked in frozen and moody, left feeling fully thawed, refreshed and pampered. I can recommend going here.“

I've looked online (out of curiosity) and I couldn't find a better price on the tea I drink, and I'd rather support a great local spot. Friendly service and great pricing for the tea connoisseur. They can also prepare the drink for you, but that's not my thing. Overall, I would recommend this place over any other.“

“Came in here this morning to grab coffee and a small breakfast for my family. I ordered the large iced pistachio rose latte and it was superb. The pistachio/rose flavor makes it the perfect combo of creamy and delightful. My husband had a large iced pumpkin spice latte which was exactly that deliciously pumpkin and spice. The staff was very friendly and I believe one of the owners was there and she was very nice smiling at me snapping pictures of her beautiful business. My husband and I shared the mexi bowl which I unfortunately didn't get a picture of because my kid was into it picking out the beans and we devoured it up right away too. It had egg, salsa, cheese, black beans, bell peppers and avocado slices. The mexi bowl was the perfect balance of all the good things we love. They have quite the variety of dishes for everyone. We are gluten free so the young lady who helped us recommended it for us and it definitely hit the spot. Highly recommend for everyone to try!“
“I’ve had this place on my list for a while and I was very pleased after finally going. It had many small nooks to sit in besides conventional seating. Which is great if you want a little more privacy or you were reading a book. I was also very surprised at how good the food was as it is a bakery I didn’t expect their meal options to be as good as they were. Overall great choice for a lower cost lunch spot.“

“Have been to Scooters off and on since moving to ankeny 4 years ago and have never once had a bad experience. The staff has always been very kind and helpful with my questions. The coffee actually tastes like coffee no matter what flavors you get though if you are used to Starbucks you may not like this. I can drive up and as long as I know what I want I can be out of there within a minute or 2 of pulling up usually. They always seem to have something that I can get to satiate whatever random craving I seem to have whenever it comes to drinks.Highly recommended. Though I do wish there was more cinnamon drinks year round“
“I stopped by on my lunch break and ordered through the drive-thru. I ordered a grande iced sugar cookie latte with whole milk and two breakfast sandwiches. The line had about 4 cars in front of me and I knew they would be pretty busy since it was the first day of their holiday drinks being released. I got to the window, paid and they handed me my sandwiches and my drink which looked a little different but it was the right size and I was in a hurry. I left and realized it was someone else’s drink and normally I would’ve just said it’s fine but it was an iced coffee with 2% milk so I knew I wouldn’t be able to drink it. I turned around and went inside this time and explained to the man at the counter, Brad, that I was given the wrong drink. He was super polite and asked me what drink I was supposed to get instead and made it for me right then and there while offering to upgrade me to a venti but I declined since I was content with a grande. He was professional and quick to remake my drink and apologized for the mistake. Great customer service. I understand that this time of year is crazy for baristas and especially being the first day that the holiday drinks were released so I completely understand the mixup but overall the customer service was great and the drink was delicious!“
“What a beautiful candy shop; it was like stepping back in time. You will find a large assortment of different chocolates and bon bons. We did buy several small boxes that will be gifts for friends in Japan. The customer service was excellent, and very helpful. To my surprise they had windmill cookies. Part of my heritage is Dutch and I have been familiar and fond of them from a young age. On your way out a cup of gelato is a must, the chocolate was divine.“

In all that time, trying different brands off the shelves and from coffee shops, I finally came across a store blend for Porch Light in Ankeny, IA. I liked the flavor from the shop, so figured I'd be happy to take some home with me, along with others that Porchlight was selling from the same roasting company. I immediately fell in love with the Rio Dolce flavor, it's so rich and smooth. I have a five pound bag of it in my kitchen right now. Another great flavor is their Morning Glory. Hands down the best coffee I have ever had, at home or anywhere else.“

“The one in Ankeny has a decent menu and a little more variety than other Smokey Rows. It is cleaner and staff friendly enough. The restaurant has a lot of different spaces. You can hang out and play games while drinking your latte. Good place to bring your laptop etc.“
“I usually avoid Starbucks in the Hy-Vee finding them inferior to Starbucks, locations and other places, however, due to geographics in time restraints, here I am.Being greeted with a smile, makes a huge difference, and my latte was right there for the first time in a Hy-Vee's, not noticeably different than a regular Starbucks. Then I walk over and get eight dollars for two eggs over easy bacon in an English muffin. It's like I eat for half price! Clean fast delicious great attitude that'll get you five stars every time“
