“This bakery has been in town for just over two years but we visited for the first time today- a Sunday. Very modern and hip shop, the staff was helpful and friendly! We had delicious breakfast biscuits. The Kolaches are so good!! We can’t wait to go back and try something else! Prices were comparable to other shops in the Iowa City area. This is a must!“

“There are 2 kinds of people. Those who like Frida Kahlo. And those who like El Sol (the 2 Mexican joints in town). It's hit and miss at both. I've had great meals and I've had bad meals. “This is a great little coffee shop. I had a Turkish blend dark roast with a shot of espresso and it was fantastic. Also one of the cleanest public bathrooms in a coffee shop I have ever experienced. I would definitely poop here if I had to.According to signage and the surroundings, they're very bicycle and dog friendly as well.“

They also offer classic and limited flavors! I grabbed the box of "Bundtinis" which are a dozen of their mini personals.“

“I am visiting from Tampa, FL., and in Florida, no one knows what a kolache is. So on my visit back home, I would typically stop in to Sykora’s for a kolache. I discovered them to be closed and really wanted to find a kolache before heading back to Tampa. Someone mentioned My Moms Bakery in Ely. I am not disappointed. The kolaches were great and the service even better. I messaged them on Facebook Thursday evening. They responded immediately and I had an order of kolaches ready on Friday morning. Nicest staff working in the store. Highly recommend and will definitely be back myself.“

One side is glass so you can observe from outside if you find the sounds they make when they feed disturbing. Unposted dress code enforced through a policy of strict voluntary participation.Coffee is drinkable. Food is unsurprising. Service is rapid and rf locaters keep your wait staff too distant to inspire tipping. Spotless.I wasn't sure it was going to be ok at first. They seemed like they might pounce at any time as I walked amongst them gripping my tazer under my hoodie.No one was injured.“

“I've loved Cookies & Dreams since they started in Davenport. Now living in Coralville, I frequent the IRL and usually get my cookie fix. Overall, C&D makes an amazing cookie - perfection. However this location has dismal customer service and consistently lacks inventory. I've visited twice now recently and there's been just 3-4 cookies available, which I could understand around closing time but not early in the day. Want a flavor they've featured on social media? It's unlikely you'll find it here. Hoping this is location overcomes the staffing and inventory issues because it's such a great addition to the IRL.“

“Stopped at the Perkins which was located next to the hotel in which we were spending the night. We just wanted 2 desserts to take back to our room, and when we walked in we realized they were VERY busy that eve. The lady greeting us at the front counter made us feel just as important as those sitting for an entire meal. Our desserts (Banana Cream Pie and Chocolate Overload Cake) were fresh and quite tasty after a long day on the road. GREAT JOB PERKINS !!!“
