We ordered 14 separate things to sample and all were good..In addition, the ladies working were very helpful and friendly. “Just had a grand reopening. New owner and staff are really nice and dedicated. Place looks great inside. Great to see them trying to get more involved in the community. Cakes and cupcakes are top top notch. Their cake decorator is a magician! Big selection at all price points and cake and cupcakes sizes. They have sugar free, gluten free and vegan options. Check out Smallcakes in Aurora , you will not be disappointed. Oh and don't forget to try the homemade Ice Cream! “I ordered a custom cake (decoration and black sesame flavor) from Sweet General remotely for my mom's birthday as I wasn't in Chicago. They dropped off the cake at 88 Marketplace at Bao Bae Bakery for me, which was a more convenient pickup location being in the city. Super appreciate the service option to do this! Seamless ordering and communication via Instagram. The cake was loved by my friends and family, not too sweet and strong black sesame flavor. Definitely want to order from Sweet General again in the future!“
“I got the raspberry chocolate individual cake, which has been my favourite for many years and a chocolate croissant. It was made to order. Unfortunately the center raspberry filling and surrounding mousse was rock solid. I couldn’t get my fork through it and after it thawed a little still had an icy taste to it. Not sure what went wrong but in the past it has been my favourite dessert. The chocolate croissant has great flavour and first bite. Workers are helpful and kind and I saw the chef come out to personally answer some questions about the desserts.“
“Oh my gosh, so many flavors I want to try! There was a quite a line but it moved quickly. The server was kind, repeated the order, and got our scoops correct. There are some tables and chairs inside but can't wait to try the patio in spring and summer! The ice cream was SO good!“
