He ordered traditional combo fajitas and I ordered 2 steak tacos and one shrimp taco. We also ordered a side of black beans, I do not recommend the black beans. The guava margarita was soooo good. “A rare North Shore gem combining outstanding cuisine with art from local artists. As it's name implies, the Gallery is an art gallery, but with a kitchen and an extremely talented chef. The menu and art are both updated every 3 months. We have been to the Gallery for the past 5 menus and every visit has been excellent. The menu is very limited but offers enough options for most people (so far, there has always been a salmon, another seafood entree, a beef entree, and a poultry entree). While limited in choice, the execution of every dish is at the very top of the fine dining scene and could compete with most of the top rated restaurants in Chicago - in our experience the Gallery should be a Bib Gourmand contender. While the entree is the star here, two non-entree items deserve special mention. First, the deviled eggs with balsamic and bacon are so good we have felt many times we could just eat a few orders of deviled eggs and be happy, and are in the "must have" category (thankfully, these are on every menu so far). Second, the pastry deserts are executed at a level that I would not expect except at a Michelin starred restaurant. The deserts have been mostly different each visit, but they have always blown us away. Don't skip desert! Note that the Gallery has a very limited wine and spirits menu, but they encourage you to bring your own wines with a very minimal corkage fee.“

“I was always resistant to trying bar food but my son loves going there with his friends so, I had to give it a try and to my surprise, the food was absolutely amazing. I used to only order the sample platter, steak sandwich and chicken wings but last night I tried their steak fajitas and it was surprisingly spectacular. Their margarita didn't taste as authentic as the food made by authentic Mexicans. However the manager was kind enough to offer me an amazing old fashioned and the bartender nailed it making my experience even more special. I'm not a fan of dive bars but they make you feel very welcome definitely turning into one of my regular places to go!“

“We had a reservation for Easter Brunch for 11 and a high chair. When we arrived it was a bar height table. I mentioned it to them. They were very gracious apologized and corrected the problem within 15 minutes. This was my first time at the Oak at The Glen. Nice variety at the buffet, great omelets, crap cakes, paiella, lox and bagels, fruit, desserts. Nice selection for children. Everyone we had contact with was cheerful and seemed happy we were there. “Do yourself a favor and grab some friends for karaoke and Korean food at AGIT. A group of us went on a Saturday night and we had a karaoke room for 2hrs. Depending on the size of your group they may add a few chairs in so everyone can fit. Once you're in your room you can start with the karaoke session and in the corner of the TV tells you how much time you have left of your session. They also have instructions on the wall for how to use the remote to choose songs and how to use the control. You can press a button and a staff member will come and wait on you. We ordered a handful of stuff to share family style. We had the bulgogi, fried chicken, seafood pancake, tteokbokk. There was plenty of food to go around and everything I ate was enjoyable. It was so much fun being in a private room and eating delicious food. I wish they would have had plates instead of the paper boats because you can't fit much in the boat and maybe some serving untensils for the dishes. But minor things I could look past. They are located in a strip mall so there is plenty of parking avaliable.“

This was the first time I’ve had it since moving and I can FINALLY say we found the place. The egg rolls were so good, which is usually my biggest test on a place! The beef egg food young was also great, no big chunks of onions either. It was a good portion of ingredients, and the flavor was spot on. My husband had the chicken fried rice and orange chicken and he said it was really good - he usually says “it was fine” whenever we get Chinese, so this is a big compliment coming from him. The service getting the food was quick and still warm when we got it. I do remember coming here years ago, and remember it being really a great atmosphere and really good. So luckily with Uber Eats, we were able to have it delivered. I am thrilled to say I FINALLY found my go to spot!!!!“

I rented out the private area, where you had the option of having your own DJ and personal Bartender. David, the owner, worked with me closely throughout the process. From helping me choose a DJ to helping with the food options. He made sure during the night that me and my guests were happy and satisfied. It was definitely a vibe there! All the guests had a great time and enjoyed the atmosphere. DeeJay Nez was great. He understood the assignment! The Theme was "Back to the 90s" he played a great mix of 90s/2000s. If you want to have a good time and relax, or need a space to host a party, I definitely recommend Social Bar and Grill! You won't be sorry! What impressed me the most is the social distancing that's happening inside at the tables. I was concerned however they did a great job and kept well within the state's/towns guidelines. This was my first time eating in a restaurant since the pandemic started almost a year ago. “Our friends have three adopted sons from Bulgaria, so we all wanted to meet for Bulgarian food. Balkanika did not disappoint; there were plenty of options for meat dishes, seafood, and vegetarian options. The portions were very generous; too much in some cases, but that allows for leftovers to go! One of our Bulgarian teen boys ordered the whole fish, and he ate the whole thing (except the eyeballs). The fish got his stamp of approval. The other teen boy had pizza, which he liked very well and shared with the rest of us. If I had any criticism, it would be wanting a bit more flavor, but perhaps culturally Bulgarian food is simply meat-forward, allowing the meats to speak for themselves. (I don't really know though; I'm guessing here.) Interestingly, one of the meals came with a sauce that looked like ketchup, but tasted different, in a good way. I want all ketchup to be Bulgarian now. That stuff could be bottled and sold, and it would make me very happy. The wait-staff was friendly and helpful to us, not like I read in some of the other reviews. The restaurant has a little snack store near the entrance, and one of the waitresses described things to us and helped us make our choices of treats to go (we wanted airplane snacks, since we were flying later). To sum up, Balkanika was a fun experience, with good food and generous portions.“

However I just wish she was a bit more tentative with supplying the things we needed. We had “open bar” for beer and wine for a part of the party but I believe there was some miscommunication from one of the bartenders to the guests about that.. We also didn’t have enough tables/chairs for the amount of people we had even though we gave them a final count a week before the party. I did have to clean up most of my guests plates myself too which was a little disappointing. And I also had to keep going up to the bar to ask for more plates, plasticware, napkins and cups. I realize this is a bar, not a banquet hall but I think we just expected a little more attention from what we got.
