“We dined at Plateia for the first time tonight. The food is absolutely fantastic. We had the feta and honey appetizer along with tzatziki and fresh warm pita. For our main course, I had the yogurt chicken and oven potatoes which were delicious. My husband had the pastitcio which he enjoyed. Service was great, too! By the way, while waiting did our table, we observed a screaming woman who was upset that she had not been seated yet. She was incredibly rude to the hostesses and left in a huff. She threatened to leave nasty reviews on Yelp, calling the restaurant "trash". Make no mistake... she was the trashy one. If she leaves a review here, ignore it!“
“I think the food is okay but I really don’t like when restaurants post prices that are lower than what they charge you. I placed my order based on what I wanted to spend and it came out much higher than that. I even got a soda because it seemed like an okay price, the lady asked me and I got the impression that what it showed on the menu is what I would get. The receipt shows they charged me more than what their menu says. That’s extremely frustrating (especially these days where it’s already much more than your used to). I feel like I’m spending enough with the posted prices, but if you keep charging more than that, I will not come here.“

“Yum! This place is really good! Tried it for the first time today for dine in. We had the Olympian Pitas with fries and the Greek potatoes. Very fresh food. It took about 10-15 minutes and everything was definitely prepared fresh. The seasoning was spot on, not salty, not greasy. The fries were so tasy and the pita was nice and fluffy. You can tell they actually care when putting together your meal. For a quick delicious Greek meal I would highly recommend. Service was also excellent, the manager was friendly and greeting customers picking up takeout orders.“

My friend had the gyro plate and it too was a large portion and a decent value. Don't let some of the prices deter you, it's good food, made fresh, and the portions are big. “I have been to Craving Gyros two times total, and both the times I have had good food and service. On my first visit, I had their Gyros sandwich and fries, and in my recent visit, I had their gyro burger and jalapeños cheddar poppers. Upon entering the restaurant, I checked out their menu on the wall above the ordering counter. I was craving a burger but was also in the mood to have a gyro. My eyes fell upon their gyros burger ($6.99). It came on a toasted brioche bun with a beef patty, gyro meat, lettuce, tomato, carmelized onions, and tzatziki sauce. This was the perfect item I could have ordered on this visit. I love a good gyros burger. I have had it a few times before elsewhere. I also ordered cheesy garlic bread, jalapeños cheddar poppers, and a fountain drink. The food came out shortly after ordering. My burger looked so good that I could hardly wait to dig in. The cheesy garlic bread was placed together, looking like a sandwich instead of cut-up flat pieces of bread. It was good in taste. The jalapeño cheddar poppers were hot and fresh. My very first bite of the gyros burger was full of flavor. I tasted everything that was in the burger. The gyro meat and the beef patty were flavorful and cooked properly. The tzatziki sauce added a nice touch to the flavor of the burger. The brioche bun was soft and toasted just the right way. Overall, I had a good experience again, just like I did on my first visit. The service was good, the prices were reasonable, the restaurant was clean and inviting. The restaurant is located at a busy intersection. Their parking is adjacent to the building that houses the restaurant and one or two other shops. Check out Craving Gyros if you haven't before. It is definitely worth a visit and more. I look forward to going back here again.“

I recommend the Yemista (stuffed peppers and tomatoes filled with beef and rice) served with Greek potatoes and veggies. Other family members had the Dolmades, Pastitsio, and Makaronada, all of which were mouth watering and done right! Avgolemono was glorious, and the Saganaki was awesome, spot on-not dry or too salty. “The place isn't too big, they have some pretty good Gyros, their fried options are average. Client service is good never average and below, I called to make an order for a pick up and they were generous with the time saying it'll be ready in 18 minutes but by the feel of the food and how warm it was I say they only needed 10 to 12 minutes to get my order ready to go.Their Gyro isn't crispy or dry like some places, its even slightly juicy. This is the place I buy my gyros at when I get the craving, there's rarely anything better.“
“I went to this restaurant with family on 11/13 2023. We got outdoor seating and they were able to put tables together and seat us very fast. The service always had smiles on their faces and were all around very pleasant. The view was amazing, right next to the water. There was a bit of a wait for the food (which is expected for the large group we had) but they had live music and just such a great atmosphere. The food was 10/10 meeting and beating all of our expectations. Some dishes were a little pricey but not bad for the amount of food we were given and for the quality of food it was.“

Top 5 Gyros and Chicken Gyros spots in the Chicagoland suburban area in my opinion. Ordered their Chicken Gyros sandwich as well as a side of Oven-baked Greek Potatoes (pictured here). “The restaurant outdoor/indoor is very elegant! Went to celebrate my mothers birthday, it was our first time here and the service was fantastic.
