“Absolutely wonderful!!! .Great staff, friendly and will definitely be back again, Came in for my birthday and everyone loved the food and service!! The way restaurants used to be, would much rather eat here than somewhere else where you pay triple and the food and staff, atmosphere isn't worth the price, Thank you so very much ❤️”
“Old-school is the best way to describe itFriendly, welcoming, clean. Their food is always very good.If for some reason you don’t like it, they will make it right. If you have a special order, they’ll make it to how you want itmanager /owner Is continuously making rounds in the restaurant to make sure everything everybody is enjoying their meal or if there’s anything you needI personally like the vegetarian omelette cup 1/2coffee, 1/2hot cocoa w/ ryeVegetarian options: They will accommodate your needs”
“China king serves amazing Chinese food with a smile! Their dishes are delicious, and the service is top-notch. The foods I order are General Tso chicken, sweet and sour chicken, and chicken lo mein. They are all so delicious. Great food, great service, and has great vibes especially the decoration.”
“Food is far above expectation for Ogle Co. Dining . Service is fabulous. Downfall is that we have never eaten here and not had super wasted obnoxious beer drinking idiots playing pool. Seems like a bad business plan to drive away people spending lots of money on food for a bunch of people that drive customers away. The pool table is inconveniently placed by the front door so you have to walk awkwardly around a crowd of inebriated fools to get to your table. Every time we have come here people just get up and leave due to the rowdy folks blocking the front door and the access to the gaming machines. That being said. The food and the service (truly a rare find in these parts) outweigh the cons for our family.Kid-friendliness: I would not recommend bringing small children here. At all. My kids are big boys and not sheltered. Normal children would not fare well in this environment.”
“The absolute best cafe! Everything one the menu is amazing and the staff is beyond helpful and always happy to see you! I would 100% recommend this cafe over any other!”
“Stopped in for lunch and had a bacon cheeseburger. The service was great, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was clean and friendly. Will definitely come back again soon!”
“Great place and even better bartenders.. We come here for affordable drinks poured on the heavy side. Love the atmosphere and the people who are here are always fun to drink with. Never had a bad experience here but always end up with a story to tell.”
“There are several bars in Byron, all within several feet of each other. With that said Uptown is the unique one. It has a bowling alley. Also they tend to go off road with their food. The have unique twist on regular restaurant and bar food. They are like the Burger King in the sea of McDonald's. You have to go there at times to break the monotony.”
“We visited this restaurant for lunch during the week. Service was excellent, food quality excellent, authentic Tex-Mex. Try the Chile Rellenos, they are authentic, and most Mexican restaurants can't do them right. Tacos are crispy shells, not wimpy shells, and meat is top quality. Byron is the hidden gem of the Sauk Valley.”
“They made the sandwich how I told them to so I can't really fault them if it was bad, which it wasn'tVegetarian options: You can, it's not bad, but you shouldn't because vegetarianism is SINFULKid-friendliness: Good for childrenParking: A little difficult to find spots at times but it's fine most of the timeWheelchair accessibility: You canDietary restrictions: My boy Jerod lost a lot of weight from it so it must be healthy”
“The owner went out of his way to make us feel welcome tonight, and the waitress was attentive. We got beer nuggets and a thin crust half cheese, half mushroom pizza. Both were delicious! The sauce was really good and the crust was nice and crispy. The beer nuggets were a pleasant surprise and we’re happy to find a place closer than DeKalb to get them. We will definitely be back!”
“Shout out to Jamie .I called ahead with 20 happy meal orders . With a 15 minute time frame .everything came out perfect everything was correct and she even made sure everyone got the same happy meal toy so there were no arguments .”
“Today was the first time I had ever been here and I will be going back. The food was very good, reasonably priced, and the service was excellent. It is a great little place to grab some quality food and bonus, they have icecream!!”
“Every Wednesday all you can eat chicken, soup which has homemade noodles. Salad bar. Garlic bread, pasta, mashed potatoes, gravy, bbq pork ends. It's all fresh and delicious. People are very friendly there. It is a small dining room, get there early so you're not waiting for a table.”
“Wowowow! First let me say there was another person who mentioned the chips and salsa were the best in a 50 mile radius... THEY ARE NOT WRONG! The salsa is incredible! We both got fajitas, chicken and steak, which were flavourful, filling, and everything you could hope for! Fresh tortillas to go with it! This is a 5 star experience that is tucked away! Service is fast and friendly also! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!”
“I am so glad we stopped here! The food was great. Burgers were done exactly as asked, and made quickly. The atmosphere of the bar feels like home. Very patriotic and supportive of our military and service forces! The owner, Melissa took the time to make sure that everything was good. Friendly, professional, and shows she cares. If you're in the area looking for something new, check this place out.”
“One of our favorite places to get ice cream. Love their location next to the best pizza in town. They do a great job of keeping their hours posted on Facebook so you know when they are closed do to the season... They have a great variety of flavors and options. It's also great to see them support so many local events and take their special car and set up to the fairground etc. Stop in for a treat and enjoy a local favorite...”
“Food is great. The people are great but beware of the coffee cup lid. I asked for two different lids and they both are not good. I was in my Porsche and I picked up my cup very gently and the lid popped off and coffee went ”
“A great little restaurant. We went on a busy night, yet the waitress was very attentive. The food was fresh and delicious. Good portions, reasonable prices. We'll definitely be going back next time we're in the area.”
“Great place to stop. Friendly staff by herself on a Sunday afternoon, but not too busy. They had a busy weekend and were out of some of the items. We ordered thin crust pizza which was good and the Buffalo fried cauliflower was nice and hot.We will be back to try some of the other items that were not available.”
“We had just finished church, and were looking for dinner. We hadn't been to La Vigna in a while, so we thought we'd go there. This place is south and around a mile east of Oregon. If you don't know where it is, use your GPS and you'll find it. It's a quaint location with low ceilings, good smells and good food. When we arrived, we were promptly greeted and then seated in the back dining room. The lighting is provided by sconces on the walls, and a lot of Italian lights strung from the ceiling. It's brighter than "romantic" by a little. The menu was interesting - we started with a grilled Portobello Mushroom which we shared, which was in an interesting sauce. I added some parmesan (shaker on the table) which made that even better. While we were waiting for that, a tray of warm bread was provided. Oil and shredded parmesan cheese were already at the table. Yum! Entrees are served with soup or salad - we both had the salad with Creamy Gorgonzola dressing, with the extra crumbles on top. The greens were very fresh, and the dressing was tasty. I went for their Filet Mignon, medium rare, which was served topped with mushrooms and marsala wine sauce. The steak was properly cooked to order, and was quite tender. My wife ordered their Scampi Picatta, which was loaded with shrimp and she said was very tasty. The wine list is a little light with 5 different "house" wine brands, but they did have two different upscale bottles - we went for the Pinot Noir, which hailed from France and had an interesting parchment brochure hanging from a ribbon on the label. For desert, my wife had a cannoli, and had their Raspberry Sorbet. The cannoli was authentic and tasty, but the Raspberry Sorbet was very good. If you like Raspberry sorbet, this is the place to get it. It was very rich. The place was pretty quiet noise level wise, We could hold a normal conversation. The floors are carpeted, which helps.”
“Bartenders are friendly and remember what you drink. Good selection of music on the jukebox. Crowd is a random mix of young and old. 3 pool tables, 2 dart machines, 6 gambling machines and a shuffleboard table. Plenty of parking. Street parking in the front, parking lot in the back. Like every bar there are some exceptions but it's a nice relaxing environment most of the time.”
“A very wonderful cafe in downtown Oregon. I love the music in the background from the 20s or 30s and the food and coffee/tea is amazing! I got the grilled brisket cheese sandwich and the London Fog. Very delectable!!!”
“Food was delish, especially the pork tenderloin! Oh and the Philly fries were to die for! Service was so good we decided to go back for another visit before we left town. Go get a bloody Mary on a Sunday holy cow it was ”
“Had Drunk Chicken with Zing sauce and it was amazing! Just a little spice with the sweet sauce, loved it! Chicken was great, onion rings were burnt. You win some, you loose some. The onion rings made it 4 ☆ but the chicken was 6☆!”
“Alfano's has been a favorite restaurant in our family for a long time. We've never had a bad meal. We have friends from Monroe (WI) who drive past several Italian restaurants to eat at Alfano's. It's their favorite, too. I took away a star for the atmosphere because of the gambling area. It is private and quiet, but it takes up some of the previously available dining area.”
“I had left my card at home and the lady that served me was very kind and patient. I ran home and got back in time for my girls and I get our orders. Nice place to go”
“How have I not reviewed my favorite place!! I have eaten in, take out and delivery. Everyone was on point. The service is always awesome. The inside of the restaurant is really cute as well. They have a full bar that you can wait for your pizza. This is where all the locals go. So you know it's good food.”
“Spent a weekend in Oregon and ate here Sunday morning. Food was good and our waitress was very nice. We will return next time we're in town.Parking: Parking available in the lot behind the building and some on the street. I think street parking is free but not sure.”
“Cute brewery with good food and delicious beer. Family friendly! The green pizza was delicious! Flights available to try 4 beers.Vegetarian options: Several pizzas and salads are vegetarian friendly.Kid-friendliness: Great options for kids. Bring a game! I like that they address watching kids. Next to a river and railroad tracks. We bring our family to breweries all the time but sometimes we see parents let their kids run wild which really ruins everyone's experience. They encourage responsible parenting in a fun way.”
