“After checking the Yelp reviews for La Illusion & finally stopping in for some baked goods (not relying on friend's FB posts), I think the information here is a bit outdated; my experience was great & I'm happily munching on my bounty as I write this. I had been by the bakery a number of times but never really got the chance to stop in, it seems to be one of those hidden-in-plain-sight spots, so I was glad to finally have the opportunity & take full advantage. Walking in I was politely greeted by the cashier who directed me to take a tray & tongs (I'm new here) and asked if I needed help finding anything, but I made my own way around the store to get the lay of the land first. I wanted a concha. Scanning every case, I found them along the back wall & promptly tong-ed myself a vanilla, then grabbed a few other items that looked good. My wife is GF, so I picked out my own treats and limited the selection to what I knew I could eat sooner than later. The cashier rang me up & my 3 items added up to less than $3 so I gladly handed over the cash--in my old neighborhood you'd be lucky to find 3 baked goods for less than $5. Good deal right there. After impatiently making the car trip back home, I poured a cup of coffee, snapped a picture of my concha, and dove in. It was fluffy, a little crunchy on the outside, and perfectly sweet. I had to remind myself to take sips of the coffee. I also tried a few bites of the other pastries & they were equally as pleasing, I'm just unsure of what they were called.....they just looked good & I was in an adventurous mood. Suffice to say, I had no issues with the product or service, and would absolutely come back & recommend La Illusion to others. I reserved the last star in my rating because it was my first visit and some of the cases were open a bit when I got in (I helped close them which is no big deal). I'm certainly looking forward to bumping the rating up to 5 after I go back.“

“This is my favorite Panera ever! I'm never caught in some big a** line and there's always this wonderful employee named Chelsea there to greet me. She'll memorize your name and greet you in the most genuine manner. I order coffee almost every morning and she has the cup ready for me. Between her greeting me every morning and my hazelnut coffee, I'm in heaven!“
“Amazing little coffee shop in downtown Elgin. The vibes remind me of being in a small town! They make sure everything is perfection for you when ordering. The coffee packs a punch with good flavor which tells ya they are for-real. I’ll be back for another cup whenever I’m around town.“
“An adorable storefront with friendly service. The cookies here are amazing... their weekly "standard" treats and their specials are delicious. The atypical offering of ice cream flavors will not disappoint either! I placed an order for custom cookies and communication along the way was outstanding. We were really happy with them. A MUST visit whether you're in the area or need to make a road trip!“
“Had an Asiago, sun dried tomato, rosemary scone from Konrads today. I was a bit on the fence about ordering it since they were out of most everything (late in the day before Easter) , and there were a bunch of only this flavor left. Got one anyway. Omg it was BOMB!!! Sooo good, so flavorful I loved it. Highly recommend this savory scone in particular, although, all of their scones are great. Heavenly. A+++“
“I love coming in for celiac friendly treats. Picked up 11 lemon cookies for a friends bday. It was $40 unfortunately I won’t can’t afford that all the time. Why does gluten free items have to be so expensive? Also could use a bit more lemon for that price. Still 5 ⭐️ but I wanted to share a couple suggestions.“
“I went today based on a FB post. I arrived a little before 2 pm on a Saturday. I noticed a very small store front with a little yellow bistro table outside. I walked in and saw drinks straight ahead like coffee and tea. Then I turned a step to the left and saw the menu and the individual pies displayed along with some desserts and breakfast items. I asked them what the cutie pies were and the owner I am assuming said it was for kids but that adults liked some of them as well. I wanted to try one but they definitely seemed small and I was really hungry. So I asked what was better the chicken curry pot pie or the steak and potato one? The owner said the chicken curry but said the steak was just as good. Okay I decided to take that chicken curry pot pie to go. She asked if I was going to eat it now or warm it up at home. I said I wanted to eat it now so she warmed it up for me. I also got a chocolate croissant. So I drove and ate the chocolate croissant which was amazing and flaky! I wish I had bought two!!! Then I parked and had the Irish chicken curry pot pie. Omg was that the best pot pie I've ever had. The top was a crusty almost croissant like layer. The flavors were amazing and I am not a huge curry person. Definitely worth going back and trying more. Just a note, they only make so many pies a day, so I got the last Irish chicken curry pot pie. And also there is no crust on the sides and bottom. Which is okay with me. The top was really flaky. Some might feel the underside of the crust is a little mushy, but it didn't bother me. I will be coming back!!!“
“wonderful new business, I've been there twice and both times I was greeted and thanked which is wonderful and unusual.. the only real complaint is they run out too early, I've made a point not to get there 2 hours before closing..I've tried different items there, peanut butter cookies, croissants, scones. all of them excellent and a bit different in a good way. I would buy more if there was more inventory and I can't be the only one thinking this, judging from all the customers I've seen in the store. I'll try you again next week.“
“I’ve gone to this place alot and it impresses me everytime. The tacos and juicy and wonderful to eat and the service is amazing. Everything about it is incredible, to run such a great restaurant needs a lot of skill and these people have it. I definitely recommend.“
